- My weed eater has been finicky lately not wanting to run right or start. I decided the carb was getting old so it might need replacing. The latest issue was immediately flooding when I tried to start it. This happens intermittently and has become irritating.
Final conclusion, the fuel mixture screw needed to be adjusted. It is capped so it should never be able to move. But once the cap is removed and the screw adjusted, it ran great. - Auta a dopravní prostředky
Flip it to cold start and prime the bulb. Pull three times, move the choke to mid point, pull again. Save your pull cord!
I knew you would have a tough time replacing that grommet.. A huge tip.. stick an allen wrench down the line to make it stiffer and it goes into the grommet a lot easier.
Good tip. I will remember that on similar tasks in the future.
I liked watching you have as many problems as I did, because as simple as this job is it's also a pain in the ass. When I cranked mine on the engine started but it was running at too many RPM's so now I have to figure out why. I changed mine in the florida heat, though it was dusk the humidity was draining my patience, on top of the mosquitos decided they wanted to eat me alive. After a lot of knuckle busting due to the conditions and a lot of sweat I shelved it and will go back today to figure out why the air to fuel mixture is running so rich. Great video!
This thing has always been a pain.
@@micalstephenson That's why I got a Dewalt electric trimmer, and that thing kicks ass.
Thank you so much!😊
Thanks for the detailed instructions. They were a big help to me.
Thank you for taking the time on showing this video!
Thank you for watching!
Never struggled so hard in my life to put that rubber seal in the gas tank!😡
Thanks for the vid man. About to go replace mine now
Good luck!
@@micalstephenson only took 15 minutes 👍
there is seldom a need to remove the black plastic cover as u will loose the steel roller that holds it up.without it the needle position changes and it drags on housing wearing rapidly and affects needle adjustment severely.
Great video - had all the same issues you did from the stopper to the backwards throttle cable screw - appreciate you!
my weed eater would not run at high throttle so I replace the carb now I can't get it to run with the choke off if I cut the choke off it will stop running any thoughts
If it only runs with the choke on then it is running rich. You probably need to adjust the fuel screw to get that corrected. It should be a tiny little screw near the priming bubble.
I had another thought about it I thought I would mention that you could have a bad gasket as well. That will let excessive air in with the choke closed.
You need to adjust your needle settings.
Thank you for the advice. I will try that. It still isn’t running great.
What year that weed came out
Primer bulb is new but wont fill with fuel.
This is painful to watch.
Have to agree with you..
Hands in the way, or your not even in frame.
cannot really see what you are doing. slide this ...take out screws.
