- Echo SRM 225 string trimmer weed wacker primer bulb not working. I did a quick after market kit and a full carb tear down to show both fixes. Hope you enjoy!

Thanks. Great video. I have an SRM225 that wouldn't start. I did a clean up and almost everything you did and it still would not start. So...I bought a new one. The new one is very hard starting, but got it started. Did one yard and now it won't start again. I ordered a new carburetor kit for the old one and while waiting for it I tried starting the old 225. It started right up. Now I have an old one that starts and runs and a new one that doesn't start. It's been raining so we'll see. The new one might be going back to Home Depot. Thanks again.

I’ve also had good luck with the HIPA carbs . I was skeptical of aftermarket carbs because of ones that didn’t work but have used the HIPA ones several times now with success.

excellent vid Ray, well done and educational with the explanations. Glad to become a subscriber and confident will get mine going now. Primer not bringing gas up, can test the bulb as you showed if i take carb off but you suspected it was the line--------what suggested that, brittle alone wouldnt made it bad would it?
Thanks and welcome. Usually brittle means cracks along the line and it could be sucking up air instead of fuel. Hope that helps

thanks for the video. I have the same one. won't start. old bulb. don't think it's getting gas into the carb. just gonna buy a new kit and replace like you did. it's only $17 on amazon. I've had it for quite a few years so I'm sure it's time.
