Hello this is Gary I've got a 65 Stepside I've had for 45 years and I just wished it was fixed as good as that one was you do a great job on that I used to be able to do that but I've sure do love the 63 to 66 you did a great job for your death he'll be thankful for that I've watched it all the way through your work on it I love it
I love watching your channel when I’m not working on my cars. They are better than half the car shows on TV! Love what you did for your dad too! Really appreciate your videos!
Man I don’t think anything could dim that grin on your Dad’s face. That is truly priceless and you now have two masterpieces to your credit. Thank you for taking us along for the ride. I have learned TONS about my own truck by watching you. Can’t wait to follow you on the next one!
The perfect truck! I would love to have one just like your dad's, it's built to Cruz dude that's as Kool as it gets right there. I was 33 when my dad passed, all we ever got to do is build one motor together in an old 56 ford I'll cherish the memory forever.
This video helped me tremendously for the wood install on my 57 chev pickup. I went with blue tape to hold the bolts while I tightened them from the bottom though. Thanks!
That is rewarding hard work and wood of any kind it not getting cheaper. As a friendly suggestion, the cut ends of the bed wood has straw-like fibers and should have many coats of oil based product applied to seal off. Unfortunately time will tell but washing or a brief rain will be drawn into the ends, causing them to swell & crack. It is the nature of wood fibers as this part of the tree has sap going up in the spring, then down in the fall. You could use 2" tape and a sponge type brush you had, but take a paint paddle/stick and wring out the protect dark oil into that thin crack. Protect dripping with plastic covered with paper underneath and try this in the yard. I am not trying to say anything negative just an appreciative retired who really enjoys classic Chevy / GMC trucks. $150 at age 13 got me my first, a 65 C10 Apache. Memories 283 cu in with Power glide as the last year the trans came with a rear and front pump both. Late model racers loved then. Stay safe!
Truck coming out very nice 👍🏻 nothing like father and son going to a cruise in night together, you a good son building your Dad a nice old truck keep them videos coming.
Just ran across your blue truck build the other day and got through the whole set in three days , very nice , the whole family enjoyed that including the old lady and the kid! lol Nice work , just the right amount of words , and the audio was nice and even during all the videos. The real winner was yer' old man he took home the prize , keep up the good work! Ok here we go red truck build coming up next...…….😎
That is way cool. Make sure big daddy knows you love him every day. That’s an awesome project. My son and I are doing a truck together for him to drive as his first ride.
I have been trying to get a good look at the inside of your garage. It is packed tight but packed right! Every inch of space is occupied... I like it! Small, but very functional. I'm new to your channel, but very informative and excellent presentation. Today's television car shows don't show a damn thing besides fake drama. CZcams is a great thing! Great work sir!
Man that's awsome! Too cool to have that with your Pop. Outstanding job on the bed floor and the wheels pull the whole thing together.I have to admit I may like look of the blue one a little bit more. But its probably just the wheels guess I have old school taste. Thanks for sharing this build and I can't wait for the next one!
Michael Galvez; Me an You have to stand in the long line waiting our turn. I'm waiting to hit the Lottery then pay him for the fine work, But darn I don't play the Lottery so I guess it will be a long wait for my 63 C10 pick-up...Gibson63's C10'S are sweet both ways. Gibson63 is a Jack- of- all-Trades and a Master of more than One... Keep On Trucking Brother 👍...
Yes Sir, wow it turned out so well what you’d done with this old truck! You rock the classics Sir, very nice how it turned out love the creativity! Great job, mine is coming along with the American Auto Wire kit which you’d also used to refresh the wiring. I’m in Delaware, and had failed for lights operation. So the wire is the last thing for my “63”…. again Cool ride Sir!
You sure do some nice work! The two trucks look nice sitting side by side! Thanks, Doug, for sharing! Looking forward to the next build in a couple weeks!
You make some great videos. You share a bond with your dad like I do with mine. That’s a great thing. Bad ass trucks man keep it up you have some real talent.
I recently purchased a 65 in about the same shape as yours when you started this project. Your videos will be a priceless resource for me as I get ready to get started. Thank you.
Just want to say your videos are amazing. Working on a 1963 c10 right now. Your videos are tremendously helpful hope all is well. Do have a few ? For you if you ever have time.
I love following you, you put out great content! I have a 65 C20 and you have helped me with the brakes and wiring on mine! I appreciate your videos and just wanted to say Thanks! You ever wanna come up to Oregon and turn some wrenches or throw some sparks I'd love to have ya! LOL!
I subscribed to your channel when you started this project. I have watched every step of this project. You have done an amazing job and I have learned a ton. You my sir are an artist doing metal work!!! I just hope you keep these types of videos going!!!
I have 265/70/16 on my 66 GMC. Speedo tells me I'm doing 45 when I'm really going 60. Those wheels really throw my speedo off. Using 2004 Tahoe rims and 6 lug adapters to convert the 7/16 standard studs to 14mm metric studs.
You've been the best teacher for me brother thanks for all the time you have taken too do this. Can you give us one more advice on how you've matched the paint, how did you take the brightness off. Done with metal work on my 72 jimmy blazer and want to match paint to my original one. THANKS AGAIN FOR SHARING YOUR KNOWLEDGE.
excellent work as usual gibs. I am still working on my 64 front end, massive cleaning!!!! I am depressed now because I was working on my front end when u was lol. I get there though. again, great work, looks good and wow the sound very nice
Looks great sir. Both trucks are fantastic. I wish my dad was still around to share my project car with today. You guys will have some great cruising time together. All the best to you both. Looking forward to your next project.
Looking Great! I dig the patina stuff. That's the route we are going with the 64 c10 on our channel. I like the direction you went with the bed too man!

I would drive any of them three trucks. Sweet rides for sure. Best way to get quality time with your Dad. Thanks for bringing us along.
