Summit, you need to up your game. You are not the only game in town anymore. Craig, I would be so pissed I couldn't see, if I had received wheels this badly damaged.
I'd say it might not be summit as much as Bart. Every wheel I have bought had a plastic ring around it and had Styrofoam in the box as well so even if the box gets banged up the wheels stay good.
wasnt summit. they are in bart boxes, which means packaged by bart and sent to summit. bart is the on at fault.
I am having the same issues with Set of Bart wheels. They are damaged and can't be balanced. They are a very sub-par brand. Of the 7 wheels the have sent me at least half are blemished or unbalanceable. The wheels were packed very cheaply and the company doesn't care about it. They hope you mount the tires so you cannot return them its a scam as far as I am concerned. I hope that Bart Wheels goes out of business for not caring.
15x8 in the front and 15x10 in the rear... The front end is 2" wider than the rear... That way they fill the fenders and fit the body lines evenly... But it's not my truck so you do you...
Very bad packaging on Summits part, even the second set ripped the boxes. You shouldn't have to touch up the paint on brand new wheels.

as someone who works as a package handler (Unloader specifically) at FedEx here in Tennessee, I feel bad about em getting damaged even tho it happens. We get wheels and tires all the time and its usually just happens via crappy boxing or stacking. I love the content you put out tho, working on vehicles is fascinating
295 in the back to fill the fender and a 275 up front so it doesn’t stick to far out of the fender
I'm not sure that that's Summit's fault. I mean do you really think that they get wheels sent to them out of the box. I would be more of the mind set that it's the fault of who boxed and sent them to Summit. When I ordered my American Racing Torque Thrust D's from Summit they came with a plastic band to protect the outer edge of the wheel. And they where in American Racing boxes.
lilorbie lilorbie yeah, I think that is the way Bart packs and sends the wheels. They are steel wheels mostly used for stock car racing, so they might not care how they look to cost value.

Definitely not summits fault. They are an outstanding company and have helped me multiple times in these situations. Most of the blame would be the manufacturer for terrible packaging, then the shipper for rough handling.
All I can say is have fun turning the wheel with those huge tires on without ps

I hate the fact the new wheels got damaged in the mail. It can be very, very, very infuriating and annoying. Besides the damaged ones, the new ones look hella sick 👌. Keep up the good work and the content.
How hard would it be to just do something stupid like wrapping pool noodles around the rim? I’m sure the shippers have an extra 4 dollars per set of wheels to make sure their customers want to be repeat customers.

Loving the wheels man! Also, while you’ve got those wheels off, you should sand that frame down with some 220 and throw some rust preventative primer and Matt black rusto on there. Made a world of difference on the looks of my Jeep.

Summit is good about replacing stuff when its damaged, I ordered a switch panel and a bunch of other stuff to rewire my 92 mustang and the switch panel looked like someone heated it up with a torch and bent it into an s shape but the box looked brand new, I called and raised hell and they sent me a new one no problem, didn't even have to send the old one back so there customer service is really good in my experience... also I've ordered a set of cravat soft 8s for my 72 monte carlo years ago and mine had no problem but they had foam around them in the box

Like what your doing with your truck. If it was me I would keep the I beam but to each their own. I am thinking of running a 15×10 with 4" back space on my 77 F100. But I'm thinking about a factory style 15×10
I had an 85 chevy that I put 10's on the back and 8's on the front and it looked awesome. You should try that
i love your wheel choice truck is gonna look super sick. im gonna be saving up for the same ones or similar on my 85 mustang, but one of the main things i noticed was all these black steel rims on summit have a few bad reviews and they are all about the packaging just like you had people reporting paint chips and dents i think the blame goes to summit for not packaging these correctly
King pins trashed then dont worry about big bolt pattern wheels frame swap other frame lol. Got three project builds going 2 are close the 3rd is a f100 reason really wanna see how yours comes out. Rebuild drag truck about finsh ls swap blazer really close so around November should be started on f100.

Devon motorcycle mechanic or just another box. Usually when I buy rims they come on their own box, inside another bigger box, to prevent them getting damaged.
Quality shipping by OOps I dropped your packages.. They tossed them off the truck from a loading dock or something it takes a lot for them to bend steel

Got a pair of brand new 15x10 Bart wheels 2nd hand for super cheap beacause they had similar shipping damage and the guy didn't wanna send em back. Definetly worked in my favor though, not going for total perfection on my rusty ass Toyota lol!

Sorry about your wheels but you have a more serious problem with the vent on the hot water heater in the background. It looks like its collapsed or kinked. Just an observation from an old HVAC contractor.
Summit as I know does do anything about scuffing I got tubular control arms and let them know and yet to receive a call or nothing

Run the 8's in the front with a 255/50/15 and run the 10's with a 295/50/15.

That's the sucky thing about steel wheels. As cool as they look, there's just that slim chance of getting kicked in the nuts because of someone's carelessness in shipping/transport.

Just about every steel race wheel I’ve ever bought has been bent. Doesn’t matter the brand they all packaged them the same and no foam. I’ve bought 100s of wheels and at some point you just hammer them straight. Looks great tho. 👍

This is definitely the manufacturer’s fault. If you don’t properly pack it, there’s only so much a shipping company can do to safely ship it.

They were not packaged well to begin with. Most good wheel companies send wheels with rings around the outside to cushion them with shipping. That, and bart wheels are lighter weight steel wheels.
The further out you go, the harder it will be to turn with any tire.

order from wheelsasap.com they have everything you need customer friendly and they send all there rims with padding on all the rims for thes exact purpose
Why not a staggered setup. Different backspace in front vs back. Ford I beam trucks track width is staggered front to rear. and most people run staggered rims.
Who shipped them? FedEx, cause they throw everything around and don't give a shit, at least in my area.

Can someone explain to me the logic of getting a set of wheels from a company that weren't packaged correctly for shipping, and then going back and buying another set from the same company expecting them to arrive packaged better? Should've bought a set of Cragars. (though they are slightly more expensive being $75 each instead of 61-62)

Send that right back man. Shouldn't need to fix or touch up brand new wheels. You paid for brand new not second hand flea market pickups. I'd be livid especially when on a time frame.
Should have stuck with the eight inch width because you contradicted yourself about not wanting the wide tires. Personally don't think you made a good decision mainly because of drivability of the truck going so wide. Wide is not always better. Yes it's your money your truck but eight inch rims would have looked so much better

Send them back for a full refund, you paid for brand new wheels not beat up crap, bubble wrap and better packaging would help and unfortunately all shipping companies are the same, cheap labour who don't care about the packages, I've been in a warehouse where packages of all sizes were thrown in to lorries from 10' away
