Thank you for taking the time to make these videos. My trucks been sitting and rotting for years because I was intimidated by the level of work and all the layers of metal in the various panels. Thanks to you, I know better what to look out for as I proceed. Being in hot humid lower SC, everything is rusted except for the glass. I WILL share your channel with everybody !!!!

Can see that's a dealer rear bumper which a lot of dealers sold, because as I recall, in these years, a rear bumper was an option on pickup trucks unless they were a deluxe model. Very nice work you've done to preserve this truck. Congrats.

That's a dealer installed aftermarket rear bumper, I used to install them back in the early 80's when I worked for a Chevrolet Dealership.
They all had the Dealership name imprinted on bumper.

If anyone cares... Most of these trucks were delivered new without rear bumpers. Yes there were some that came from the factory with the chrome "fleetside" rear bumper, but these were not the norm. Most often, the trucks delivered without rear bumpers had a dealer installed add-on bumper, like the one in this video installed at the dealer. There were also aftermarket bumpers that were installed which were almost identical. Both the dealer add-on and the aftermarket bumpers were usually built by a local company that made them, these were commonly called "farmer's bumpers" because they are the ones that usually bought them. There are a number of different styles of these bumpers, but almost all looked similar.

Pretty sure that's the original bumper...that's a dealership heavy duty bumper that was likely put on when it arrived at the dealership from the factory...my '69 didn't even have a back bumper on it when it was on the lot, & my dad bought a dealership bumper to go on it for an extra $50 when he bought it...I originally planned to swap it out for a factory bumper because I'm doing a hidden hitch on it, so I don't need the heavy duty bumper, but when I told my dad I was swapping it out, he said, 'You better use my bumper! That cost me an extra $50!' LOL! He was just joking, but I think I've come up with a way to still use it & the hidden hitch too...but it'll be a while before I get to it...

The plans are almost done on this truck for now, bed wood, tires and wheels, and bolt in seat, and what small things I got left my dad is ready to go to some car shows and cruise ins with me this spring

I was wondering if you could do me a favor? I need to know the distance between frame rails at the very rear of truck. I failed to measure the distance and removed the rear crossmember that I thought was completely rusted through. When I removed it the frame sprung in. The distance between [. ] as measured from the inside would be good if you find the time one day and think of it. I have a 67 C10 short bed. I feel like a damn fool but I got in a hurry and we’ll now you know the story.
