    Hey Sean, this video was like looking at myself a lot of years ago and it makes me laughing out loud.
    No experience and just do want you want to do, that is what it makes it a lot easier the next time. Haha the way you hammered the bolts in the bed 😂 you should be proud of yourself, from a distance I am 😊
    The old bed was ready for going to the scrapyard so placing this one was the best thing you could do!
    Thanks Sean for this one and regards to Dave

      @@TheBrothersWorkshop I’ve been working on a MGF from 1999, it’s a special edition but had some issues. Locked up engine and a few electric problems. Put in a new motor and solved all the problems. Last summer I finally could drive it with the top down. At this moment I have a new project. An Volkswagen RV from 1978. Every thing has to be done, it has wheels 😂

      That MGF sounds beautiful! How long did the engine swap take?!

      @@TheBrothersWorkshop yep, a MGF sound in great with the right exhaust 😊 I did in my garage at home and have no lift. Because it’s a mid- engine you have to lift the back to take the motor out from underneath. I bought an new enige with subframe then it takes about 4 - 5 hours. When you also have to switch the subframe it will takes about 2 or 3 hours more. Just for one person it’s a doable but still a big job 😅

    Looks great guys! Proud of ya but I really wish ya would have put some type of paint or sealer on the bottom side of the bed boards. Those pine boards will not last super long with no protection so just keep that in mind. Looks great tho!!

      Hey Don! Glad you enjoy our videos and the old truck. We're having the truck painted soon. At that time I (Sean) will be removing the floor and working on the wood. Definitely sealing the bottom and planning to clear coat the top so it shines like a brand new moving truck floor.

    great install... got a stupid question for ya... when you were setting down the bed to bolt on.. were their any rubber spacers.. needed when bolting bed rails onto frame.. seemed simple as you did it in min 23:29? reason im asking is my bed squeeks alot.

    • @TheBrothersWorkshop
      @TheBrothersWorkshop  Před rokem +1

      It's not a stupid question at all! Yes, I do have spacers. I saved them until I was ready to paint the truck, but when I filmed this video they were not. Check out my latest video about this build, and you can see what I'm doing.

    Old trucks far worse than this have been saved and are back on the road. Mileage on this truck is amazing.

      You're absolutely right Larry! I have seen some real rust buckets for sale around here and when restored, you would never know!

    What transmission and rear are you running?

    • @TheBrothersWorkshop
      @TheBrothersWorkshop  Před rokem +1

      That's a great question. I'm still trying to figure that out. The truck is geared very low, and it tops out at 55-60 mph on the highway. If you have any idea how I could figure this out, I would appreciate it.

    • @msloquet
      @msloquet Před rokem +1

      Yep I have the 292 with granny tranny. I'm toying with either swapping to 200r4 which will give overdrive and I've heard can allow u to keep the rear end stock. Go with a Lokar floor shifter and I think she will boogie.

      Hmmm 🤔 that sounds really cool. Let me know if you end up doing that! If it works out, maybe I'll do it too!
