Hey all , this was the truck I learned to drive in driving in bean fields hauling beans to town to the elevators. Chad was asking about the mirrors my grandpa had it special ordered and the gas tank is original I just had it boiled out and all new brake lines. I had this truck up and on the road in 2009 then in 2010 I got hurt and then from then on my health went down hill from there so it kind of shot my dream of ever getting it fixed up down the drain. I always told my daughter that she could take her senior pictures with it but now it’s gone, I hope and pray that I get to see her again someday. I always tried my hardest to keep it all original but then someone stole the back wheels from it along with the battery and cables one night other wise they would have been there. When Chad and I started talking I had to get him all kinds of pictures then when he was finally able to come down it had rained like 3 inches and I’m thinking how on earth are we going to get the OL girl up out of the swamp it was sitting in sunken down in the ground and naturally the tires wouldn’t all air up, but with the help of good friends we got it up and almost to the road. I messaged Chad and he wasn’t able to make it down that day but said he would be down the next day, so let me tell you all I never got much sleep that night because I was out keeping an eye on my truck trying to make sure nothing happened to her sitting so close to the road. I got up early and went to check her out, because there was nothing wrong with any of the glass and I wanted to keep it that way. When I first met Chad we had a nice chat showing him the truck trying to tell him as much I remember about her , when he said he wanted her I just about said no because there were so many memories but I knew I could never have the opportunity to do what I wanted to but I would have fixed her back as original as possible with what I could do. Sure was a bitter sweet day for me, I just hope he keeps it as original as he can and leaves the back bumper and clevis on the OL girl.
Thanks jerry!!

How is the OL girl coming along? When you bring her down here May I have the plates to keep?
I have them I can mail them back to you
@@CPthetooladdict
You can bring them with you when you come down to the car and truck show:)
Lol there ya go buddy!!
An AM radio crackling away, the 6 cylinder driving that gearbox, windows down. Those sounds will never come back. Glad you got your piece of history back. Happy wrenching CP!
That 1965 Chevy C/K series pickup looks in remarkably good shape, on the outside anyway.
hey a fellow montana boy I love your channel I would say check mine out but it's just a few tool cart tours and I don't commit to it but it's cool to see you watch cp too
Thanks, doc it means a lot to me!!
Awesome video brother. Nice truck. Thanks for sharing. Will look incredible when you finish it. Keep the content coming. Hope you have an awesome weekend. Much love and RESPECT brother
So glad your dream truck came a reality. Enjoy the build. Thanks for the video. Save the original engine and transmission.
Great Truck! I love the old Chevys. This will be Great to watch! 👍
My first vehicle was a ‘73 Ford F-250. The older the better! Fine looking booty, 🤣. The 327 is definitely a legend. Love the solid door shutting noise! I’m betting the fact it’s a stick shift is also a anti-millennial theft deterrent 😁. Looking forward to you getting it back into shape! Take care CP!
Congratulations 👏 👍beautiful truck. My father has this same truck 1963 c20, he passed away and now im fixing it up. We had a lot of good childhood memories in it growing up 😢 love it
Thank you I have 2 now+!
Ya got the build sheet in the truck and the codes are available on the internet. That would tell you about the mirrors. The sentimental value that the truck represents for you is priceless. I am so excited to see this truck get fixed up!!!! Maybe when i come out to visit y'all i can help out a bit.
I hear you cp I miss my dad lost him February 2018 your dad would be proud
Congratulations on your great find! Looking forward to seeing you get her back in service! Awesome!
What a beautiful truck CP. Get that mouse house OUT immediately please!! Henry is going to enjoy working on that classic with you brother. I like the idea of a 327 myself. However it may be better to put an engine in there that will have parts available for the next 40 years though....Thank you for the tour
That smell when you open the door! My 1952 Ford F1 didn't have any mice living in it. But it sure does have the ancient gear oil smell. Can't wait to see the progress on this project!
Super cool truck CP, gonna be a blast to get running and driving again! Good luck with it and hope you enjoy the hell out of it!
Gorgeous 😍 can't wait to follow along with your build. Too Cool!
Wish I had more time thats for sure
Awesome story on the pickup! Congrats! Can’t wait to see what you do with it!
That’s a awesome USA beautiful of a truck you have there. Congratulations my brother CP!!! 🇺🇸😎🇺🇸
That's a beast of a truck love the old school vehicles they aren't made like that anymore
Can’t wait to watch this journey, let’s go CP!
I'm excited to drive her down the road
Brother I am excited for you great job 👍
Awesome truck cp can't wait to see what you do it with it
Rare truck, very nice!
Thank you
i grew up riding around in late 60 early 60s fords absolutely love the old trucks. the old trucks are fun to drive actually feels like your driving it. very cool old truck!! my guess is it will run without much needing to be done. it looks like its in pretty good shape. looks like a fun project thanks for the video as always!
FARMTRUCK!!!!! So awesome
Awesome CP...so glad you found that truck! I vote for the LS engine with a modern transmission, makes it far easier and cheaper in the parts department and very reliable, but the important part is build it how YOU want it! Awesome find buddy!
Thansk man really appreciate the comment
Congratulations CP that is a cool find I have been waiting to see this since I saw the video of it in your rearview mirror will be waiting to see the transformation thanks for bringing such great wholesome content to BoobTube 👍👍
This is great, I can't believe how good that dash looks!
A truck that drives like a truck! 💪🚘
Whoohooo ...CP great find man ...
I am excited to see this build. As much as I love the 327, an LS sounds like the WTG because of reliability and parts availability (as previously stated.)
Awesome brother!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Heck yeah man. Just got to bring home my 1966 C-20 has the 327 4 speed on the floor
Awesome, stay tuned. I have just purchased another one also its a rare and unique one for sure!!
@@CPthetooladdict did you ever do a will it start video on this one? I couldn't find it if you did
No I'm going to post one making a bunch of new content
She's factree 👍🇺🇸
Sweet truck brother
Nice video 👍👍👌👌👍
very cool truck... keep it original...or 327.
CP ur the man.... Do it for pops
Embrace your life path! Super important. You only live once.
Hope to more👁
Sweet truck CP, buy some boiled linseed oil and rub it on the paint to see what you've got there. Lots of videos on it, check it out
Definitely gonna power wash and clean than I will give that a shot
Lets rock n roll 🔥🤟🤟🤟
I've owned several c20 trucks mostly gm square body trucks,three k20's three c10's, and 1 K 10, and k 15 and a c5 82 gmc High Sierra Jimmy factory 2wd was a 4spd.
That's quite a list very impressive!!!
Yeah and one of the vehicles I learned to move around was a 1970 Ford F-250 ranger custom long bed box 360fe motor craft style auto lite 2bbl grain truck Borg Warner granny gear 4spd,was originally a 3spd column shifter truck and I'd have to say that the bumpside Ford trucks probably have my favorite version of the door latch it's a double latch system and shut good for the year it was that was in 94-2001
You should have you should have let us know about the farmer who was selling it before you went over... We could call him on your behalf and let him know how special this truck was to you before you negotiated for it. 😂
Judging by the molding trim strip I'd say that is a custom cab truck..
I would go with the 283 or 327 and keep the 4-speed and maybe a step bumper. You could always put a 350 in it with the pre 68 intake and heads and short water pump system. I had a red 65 in 1984 much more rust than that one, you could see the road with the doors closed lol. Damn good truck though.
You are a good man you definitely understand things
@@CPthetooladdict I just discovered your channel and think it's one of the best tool channels out here on the tube. I was a mechanic for years until a car wreck put me in a wheelchair now, I just do brake jobs and thing that I can reach.
That truck is begging for a 327
Great engine , had one in a 68 camaro
As vice grip would say that’s just weight reduction with the rust
Hop it up & go beat Farm Truck!
cp i hope you restore this back to original I mean it's your truck do what you want but ad I get older (35) lol I just think original restoration are sweet but resto mods are sweet too
I know I'm going to have to make a decision I'm at a crossroads
a 327 in it would be sweet I posted before I finished it lol
I mean restor it to your first truck that would be cool I would understand that I wish I had a cool truck like that for my first truck lol I want a 71 2wd long box my uncle had one and I loved it it was a rusted out truck but it ran like a raped ape
Yes I know its Def on my mind
It's your truck do what you want and it will be sweet that is what's great about the car culture you can do what you want and ppl will like it I mean haters will hate but it's your truck and you have to live with it I mean you can build it for views but I don't see you being that kinda guy nothing wrong with bouncing off ideas but in the end your fronting the bill it's your truck do what you want and ppl will love it and if they hate they were going to hate regardless lol
👀😁
Awesome pickup buddy! Lots of room to work on that engine. Everything is so accessible. As for the rear bumper you should do a nice piece of wood stained with some spar urethane.
Hello, I was wondering if you had any more videos on the repair of your nice truck.
I have a 63 c20 and I am wanting to work on it myself. I could use your great advice please. 😎
Yes, I do. I'm about to release them as well as another one I purchased.
@@CPthetooladdict Thank you CP. My truck is running and all but I would like to know what a 327 motor means and what the oil pressure and how hot the temperature should be as I am kind of afraid I might blow it up somehow. 👸🏻
@brendajordan5361 send me a email of yours with some pics. Cpthetooladdict@gmail.com
Keep the six
Keep the rear bumper, don’t see many like that anymore
Mite do that Maybe get it chromed or powder coated
