- I had to go out to another store to count inventory. I had to be there at 8am. Sleeping in a hammock by the lake sounded better than waking up at 5am and driving out there in the morning.
It actually wasn't a lake at all. It was the Arkansas River it was 7 am and I was sleepy dont judge me...
Casa Arkansas was a neat little town on the way home. My bag was moving around a little so I pulled over to strap it down and found the blessing box. Couldn't help but share.
The wasp battle was before Jeff's bday I was killing them before we had a yard full of people getting stung. We will visit them again I'm sure.
We started on Lynzies bed for her 65. This is her late father's truck and we are doing a "full restoration" the truck is going to keep it's original patina so no paint added. Anyways about the bed we picked up local black walnut and good friend Bruce is helping. Bruce is a talented woodworker and loved by everyone in town. So glad he has a hand in this. Thanks again man!!!

Thanks for sharing the Blessings Box, it was sweet to see such an expression of generosity and love for the community. Please don't ever allow yourself to get stung just to give us a better view - I would have felt terrible if that had happened. I think you did a good job on that nest. Lynzie's truck bed is going to look so cool, that is some beautiful wood. Oh, and how fun to camp out close to a job rather than have to get up too early and make the drive, if you are young enough to handle it.

What a great idea.
We carry supplies so that they when we see a Blessing Box we can stock it up. We all can share with something with folks in need.
That is so cool and sweet.
You made me laugh when you were talking to the wasps and then proceeded to "advance on the enemy".
Spraying the wasp nests with a solution of cedar oil and water would help in killing them fast. The oil acts as an herbal insecticide suffocating and dehydrating the insects. And, it's all natural so it's safe.
Ooooh, Lynzie! That new black walnut wood for the truck bed is gorgeous! Can't wait to see it all finished!
The Blessing Box is a wonderful way to help one's neighbors without drawing attention to them, since some are private about their needs.

My husband just put a new bed in my 55 chevy truck last year. looks awesome, but we are keeping all the old patina on the truck. I hope Lynzie is keeping it rustic looking, love it!!! Aww us girls and our trucks!!!

Walnut truck bed? Wow! Check out Epifanes varnish for wooden boats. Takes about 7 coats but really holds up well to sunlight. West Marine sells it. Cheers!

Foaming engine degreaser works good on wasp! Keeps them from flying away cause their trapped in the foam. thanks for all the videos! Keep on Pushing Brother

I got a bad sting on my hand from a wasp couple months ago. Found the nest , someone told me to use Dawn dish soap with little water in a spray bottle. It worked , soaked the nest at dusk . Then went all around my house outside checking for nests. Yeaaa. no more wasps .

I heard the wasps stings this years are some of the worst ever. A CZcamsr up in Canada got stung and ended up in the ER. We have went through a few cans of spray on our carport. I painted the porch ceiling sky blue a few years ago and they will not build a nest on it. I thought that was Walnut. Such a beautiful wood. The husks on the Walnut shells also make a great dye. But be forewarned it is not coming off. peace, y'all

The wasp and hornet spray that we can buy now doesn't work very well. A few years ago when it had diesel fuel in it, it worked very well.
Truck bed is going to look awesome!! Question, why not use something like POR-15 on the rust on the underside especially while you can easily get to it?

Best time to spray is after dark. Then spray the next night then you should be able to burn the nests so no larva left over hatches. The little library here sent me to urgent care because when I opened the door all the paper wasps in there came at me. All but 2 of the 6 blessing boxes have been taken down here because of vandalism and misuse. So sad.

I've seen little libraries like that around here, but the food items are a great idea. That truck bed is looking gorgeous. Will you be sealing the truck patina to make sure it doesn't rust? Looks like you & Hagatha are having some good times.
