ABOUT DANNY
-----------------------
Thanks for stopping by. I created this website as a resource just for you to support you on your golfing journey as I know how tricky learning this game can beâŠto say the least!
I personally found learning the game too long and difficult in the early days. I read all the books, watched all the videos but my game was not improving. Then after studying various forms of neuro science, motor learning, psychology and personal development in less than two years I went from struggling golfer to the final stage of the Open Championship.
On CZcams and my personal website (www.dannymaude.com) I will bring you the most up to date training, training that is getting tangible results for my clients right now. I donât know where you are in your golfing journey, you could be just starting out or maybe your body isnât as flexible as it once was or youâve got ambitions to slash your handicap. Wherever you are Iâve created a place here you can learn, share your ideas, ask questions and get all the support you need to enjoy this great game.
Be prepared though. If it's a quick fix you are after Im not your man. Here I will give you step-by-step advice that you can take straight to the practice ground and apply to the course but it will require you to get stuck in, screw upâŠa lot, practice some more and then watch those scores tumble
Iâve had the pleasure of coaching thousands of students all around the world and if you are up for the challenge and are ready to get in the gameâŠLETS GO TO WORK!

This golf lesson provides a couple of wonderful drills to help you hit your driver straight. If you are a beginner golfer and are looking for some golf driver tips that are simple and easy to do then you are going to love this.
I will show you the golf swing slow motion so that you can see what you need to do to improve.
We look at 3 things:
1. How to stop slicing your driver
2. How to swing more in to out or how to swing more inside out
3, How to get the correct impact position with driver - Sport
I am a 71 year old golfer and your lessons have really helped. Older golfers have problems getting a good rotation in their body, hence you see a lot of older golfers just swinging their arms, which leads to losing distance. I found today if I turn my right foot out I get more body turn and right away I gained 20m on my drive. Now up to 200m so fine with me.
Brilliant to hear Michael
Good to know gramps
@@Stickynuttela It worked for me so if it works for someone else then yes it is good to know

@danielmaude it looks like youâre setting up with the ball off the toe. I hit near the heel a lot and have wondered if that is something I should try.
The only golf channel anyone needs!!
Love this. Thank you
@pathdoc1701 thank you so much for your comment. It really does mean a lot. đđ»
@kclaus493 you are very welcome. Glad you enjoyed it đđ»
It's that passion that makes you such a great teacher and coach Danny. Brilliant.
So kind, Iâm lucky that I love what I do
I am 79 and I look forward to your lessons every week. You inspire me. I try all your tips every Saturday at my local golf course. You are simply the best coach in the world. Thank you.
Excellent video...thanks! Is the "movement" and "snapping" you shared the same thought process we should use for irons?
Thank you Danny, I am going to bring this to the range next week. Your lessons have brought my game down almost 10-12 strokes. You have helped bring joy back to this game for me. I am 59 and lost a lot of my game over the years due to family time. I am getting back into it and your lessons have been instrumental.....Thank you again so much....please keep them coming
@racerxv6valvoline424 thank you so much. Really pleased you are enjoying my videos. Your comments mean a lot đđ»
Danny thank you very much for your easy direct way of teaching, your tips have helped revive my love of golf!
@user-su4tu6ll8r you are very welcome. Really pleased you are enjoying my videos đđ»
Danny - love the three keys! I have seen you discuss some of these before, but itâs brilliantly simple the way you connect the three. Be athletic, coil, use the ground and snap at the bottom. Love your teaching!
@JimPiller thank you so much. Your comments really do mean a lot. Glad I can help you improve your game đđ»
Best video I have seen in a while .. off to try it out.
Have fun
Your best summary of the many valuable lessons and tips to date. Appreciated.

@ianbryan4977 thank you so much. Glad you enjoyed it đđ»
Excellent tips. Looking forward to trying them out on the driving range. Will let you know how I get on
Please do Stan đ
Great lesson Danny lots to work on. Thanks again
My pleasure Alan
Timely video for me, as I feel like my ball striking is fairly consistent, but my yardages are not as good as they could be. When I practice at the range, I feel like I swing freely. But it seems that when I go to the course I struggle because the instinct to aim and control overrides the sense of swinging freely. I will apply these drills and work to improve my on-course confidence. Thanks.
Best golf channel on YT. Great lesson!
Wow, thanks Matt đ
Hi Danny - this lesson has been a key to help me start to regain yardage and consistency. At 77 any increase is a real plus. As I worked on the power moves I noticed that adding the pre- swing movement helped clear my head of swing thoughts before starting the back swing. Before I would take my stance then all the motion, positioning, etc thoughts would take over. Adding the movement took me right into the swing before all that flooded in. Thanks so much for all the help you provide
Thatâs it Bob well done. Thatâs what I wanted you to get out of this đ
Really enjoyed this video Danny thank you
Glad you enjoyed it Andrew
Another great video, easy to understand and implement.
Thanks Danny.

Really kind thank you
I came across your videos and your style of teaching is perfect for me. Iâve since clicked on other videos that pop up on my feed and they seem to really get into the weeds in a way that just makes no sense to me! You are incredible thank you!
Question for this video. You mention moving your head, which makes sense but I have always stared at the ball. Tip for what your eyes should be doing when your head is moving during the swing?
Thanks Danny this video has given me real clarity of thought.
@jameshorlock2503 glad you enjoyed it. Thank you đđ»
thanks Danny. Great points as usual. Same theory would work on irons as well I assume.
Amazing video, you decribed me as if you knew me with how static I am when I drive! Look forward to trying these techniques on the range soon.
Look forward to hearing how you get on
Simple tips combined in seamless steps. I hope I can translate these into real results. Thanks Danny
You can do it Criag
Really admire the way you give your audience hope for the future. It all makes sense and I will try this out on the simulator in the garden ASAP. Thanks as always. At 78 I currently hit an average drive 175. When everything clicks I can ge up to 190 in summer. So there's a massive space for improvement.
Thatâs so true Ian, I love to teaching senior golfers for this exact reason
Great video Danny. I would take that one armed first drive of yours all day long and the last one was awesome. Unfortunately weather is horrendous here in Norwich all weekend so will be Monday before I can give this a try. Thanks as always and have a great weekend
Itâs been such a crazy start to the year with regards weather. So wet
Very clever Danny. I really appreciate your videos. đđ

The step back is something you touched on in a previous lesson and has helped me with my swing. Thanks Danny for all the work you do to provide us subscribers with valuable tips
My pleasure Matt, thanks for supporting me and trusting me with your golf
@@DanielMaude the pleasure is mine!
Really appreciate your golf videos, not every tip always connects with how I feel my swing developing, but the ones that do really change my game for the better. I actually started doing this rocking movement you are talking about from watching Martin Borgmeier and the way he was loading into his shot. Mine is more lax than his because ive tried it as hard as his and i just loose any semblance of aim. Funny enough this ended up being a really good trigger for me to start my swing as well which was another struggle point for me until this adjustment. Really enjoy the way you explain this it was much easier to understand than the trial and error that I was attempting to get it.
Really appreciate that, itâs why I produce a number of videos. I know that it can take just one AHA moment to improve everything
Hi Danny great video. Iâm gonna try the one hand drill more often. My biggest issue with downswing is my right shoulder wants go forward, it leads to my shoulders to be open with steep out to in swing.
your a really amazing teacher with the examples
@retroraider23 thank you so much. I really appreciate it đđ»
Awesome lesson, Danny. I can't wait to get to the range to try this out. Thanks
Thank you đ
Great video Danny you make it look so simple and easy. Are these concepts suitable for irons as well? Looking forward to your next video as alwaysđđđ
Absolutely đ
Thank you for another excellent very helpful video.
Your enthusiasm & expert knowledge is very noticeable.
I am now going to make a few notes from your lesson notes.
Your advice should really give me some extra yards.
Love to hear how you get on Alan
Practice Plan was most useful.
I have made notes from it & also stored it so I can watch whenever I want.
Many thanks.
Your son shows great aptitude.
Great lesson, Danny. Just realising how static I have been with my swing. The ball needs to be hit from the trail side.....!!.. What a great tip. Can't wait to practice this ..
Have fun
Another brilliant tip! Thanks. I am a senior golfer and am stepping little towards the target to improve my weight shift back to the target. As a senior golfer, if I want to do one, should I step back to improve my backswing or step forward to improve my forward swing? My driver swing speed is about 78mph, carries 170 yds and total distance of 190 - 195 yds. My short game is little better as such my handicap index is around 11.
Morning, Dan - good timing as had Driver lesson last Monday ! Think my movement is not too bad but set up was main problem. Was too bent over at address both Driver & Irons. Was told to stand much taller at address from spine & torso to improve contact. It did, but now have to find confidence to âlet it goâ so to speak ! I obviously feel a bit weird being much closer as been standing too far away, but todayâs training youâve given will help massively. Lee, my coach, said large proportion of issues start before you even hit a ball as lots of people struggle to set up correctly. Have a good weekend. All the best, Ken.
They do indeed Ken
Another helpful lesson from the best golf âłïž instructorđđŒon CZcams! Danny I assume this works for irons as well? Appreciate you from the Pacific Northwest đ đČđïž in the States đșđž.
Nice video. With unlocking your head to turn, does this make it hard to keep your eye on it to square up the contact? I know one typically wants to keep their eye on it as well as their head down
Brilliant once again Danny. Will take this to my game tomorrow đ
@robertsneddon5848 thank you so much. Let me know how you get on đđ»

It seems so simple lol. I'd love to schedule a lesson! Danny has to be one of if not the best instructors, certainly on youtube!
Danny, this lesson really resonated with me. I'm a 71 year old golfer and golf with guys a few years younger. This will help me stay competitive off the tee with them. Brilliant lessons! Thanks very much! Cheers!
Thanks David! Happy to help đ
I refuse to watch any other golf tutorial videos and I constantly tell people to check out your channel. Really appreciate you Danny.
I really appreciate your support, thank you so much đ
Danny Iâm a now 68 year old teenager with your help and a few adaptations of my own Iâm now ripping my Driver 270 with gusts up to 300 plus, depending on how my back and neck is on the day, broke my back racing speedway in the mid 70âs and my neck playing rugby union in the early 80âs, my neck Iâve only just discovered that I had broken it last year! This also I strongly recommend that people get a club fitting that matches their physique and strength. So many people just buy clubs without using the science that is now available to everyone. A good club fitter will match the club heads and shafts to a players ability and physicality to achieve the best possible results and get the swing weight to a balance that gives a player the best fit for his swing speed and physical capabilities.
Thanks again.
Best wishes and kind regards from Spain.
Hi Danny. I really enjoy your videos as they help me visualize what I need to do to unlock my body. A question that I have for you is that I am working my way back from a back surgey that I had in December. What would you suggest for me to do to be able to play a full round again? I didn't get to play last year due to the back injury either, so it's been a slow process. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Like the walking drill Danny. I sway off the ball which makes me think i need to be more staticâŠ.contact is often better but less power. Iâll try these tips - great explanation as always.
Love to hear how you get on Steve
â@@DanielMaudeAlmost like Gary Player.
another great video danny.
Really kind Brandon thank you
Danny - Huge fan - thank you for all you do! Does this same motion apply to hybrid and fairway wood?
Great lesson! My issue is getting my weight thru the ball with driver. I hit center face consistently but because weight is back or 8 oclockish on target line, ball fades and I know it leaks power.
Danny. Love what you do. Great stuff. How does this lesson translate to irons? Thanks so much your fabulous and have shaved 2-3 strokes off my game this year alone.
Brilliant Dan đ
I am a new golfer, i have shot one round which was this past weekend. I have 5 acres at my house to practice on and your videos have been phenomenal so far, the snapping the towel reference is a perfect analogy which I won't be forgetting. Also the dynamics of keeping movement and momentum is very comparable to baseball. I look forward to experimenting with these tips.
@dakotakaech2399 thank you so much. Really pleased you are enjoying my videos. Your comments really mean a lot đđ»

Always excellent Danny. After watching your videos during past few months, all my shots got much better, especially iron. It has been changed to compact, simple, and beautiful down-blowed shots. I am living in Seoul S.Korea and come to my town, I will buy you a big meal. hehe~
I love Korean food đ
Terrific!!! Danny. Dom

Thank you Niall!
We have gone back onto the full course somthing I have not been looking forward to but apparently I'm striking my tee shots better than I have for 12 months ( according to my playing partners. This has been due to your driving lessons I'm now 75 and a half, and looking forward to the rest of the season cheers Danny â€
Thatâs amazing to hear Dave, well done
Great video thx!đ
Glad you liked it!
Great example Danny of "using the walking motion" to create more power in the golf swing! At one time I raised my left heel on the backswing, but when it became vogue, I kept it on the ground. Now that I'm a senior, I better resurrect that move to regain some of the distance I have lost because of age! Your example of how "happy feet" and lower body movement not "body static" helps in the process as well is a good one! Your third example of "hitting from the trail side" may be the best one for acquiring distance! All in all, a golfer definitely has to "build up momentum" in order to have a powerful swing! Well Done Danny! Keep up the good work!!
@johnschwartz1536 thank you so much for your comments. Glad you are enjoying my videos. I really appreciate it đđ»
It's been a while Danny but always watching your videos.
I love the enthusiasm and content you always bring, of course. I am still trying to achieve more ball speed and distance and will definitely try these tips later today.
Finally, congratulations on 1.27 m subscribers. I remember when it was 27,000! :)
Thank you so much for supporting me during this time. I still canât quite believe it
@@DanielMaude Quick update. This really has changed things for the better, particularly the 'static walking'. Since using this in my warm-up, I am hitting some of the best drives ever. Thanks! :)
I absolutely LOVE your videos! The part where you mentioned that you hit the ball with your trial side of your body was a HUGE eye opener for me. As I believe THAT is something that I need to work on. As well as, from another video of yours, where you explain how you point your shoulders at the ball through the swing was another!
Thanks again Danny!!!!
Really happy to help Steve
Same here
Very good video!
Thank you đ
Good video. Does this translate to fairway woods and irons? Thanks boss.
Fantastic Danny.
@suziholden5302 Glad you enjoyed it. Thank you đđ»
Danny. Love your tips and instructions. Can you use this technique with irons and hybrids as well?
Absolutely
I have been struggling with the driver for a bit. I started doing steps 2 and 3 today and it really helped straighten out my drives. Adding the rhythm and the snap at the end really helped sync up my swing. Driver had started to feel so stiff lately and I couldn't figure out what I was missing. I was able to apply throughout the bag for great results. Excited to see how it transitions to a course
Well done Sean, keep me updated with how you get on đ
Thanks Danny, superb lesson, but scary to just let yourself go !!!!!
It certainly can be but You can do it!
This is good stuff
Glad you enjoyed it Mark
I would love to have Jack's swing. Great tips Danny. Thanks!
Thanks Anil đ
I saw this new video posted and was thinking to myself, "sure i want to hit the ball longer". Little did i know when i first fired it up that EVERYTHING in the video to improve my swing were spot on to my current swing issues. I watched this last night and played today and just tried turning my hips more as you suggested sight unseen (no range work or anything) And, for me, it worked 100% Thank you soooo much! If you are ever in Salt Lake City, id love to get a lesson (which i prolly cant afford, so maybe i could just buy you a couple pints? đ)
Thanks again, i cant wait to really start working with this as im totally re-energized to improve my game once again!
Thank you, appreciate the support and keep me updated with how you get on đ
Really enjoyed that Danny. Assuming you or your clients have been affected by golfers elbow, have you got any tips for a speedy recovery? If so, maybe a video would be really helpful.
Iâve had a few students come to me over three years but havenât yet come across any magic quick fix for it
That son of yours got a good start with you Danny. His swing looks better than mine so will have to try his little step move. Thanks for your great instruction. Makes my Saturday every time. đ
@ssparko7776 thank you so much. Really appreciate your comments đđ»
Thanks Danny everyone keeps telling me stepping back right before I swing is wrong, I like your ability to show there is alternative ways to unlocking power in a swing.
@bretlutz8879 really pleased you enjoyed my video. Thank you so much đđ»
Love the video. I sent to my playing partner who has been struggling.
Side note: i love the Calloway glove. Going to look for that for my next glove.
@2sly4u9 thank you so much. I really appreciate it đđ»
Great stuff! Rolling up a towel right now
@evulguy1 glad you enjoyed it. Thank you so much đđ»
This is unsolicited endorsement. I have been watching your videos for the last two years and have seen a significant improvement in my ball striking. I am a high handicapper, but was a decent player 15 years ago, I am starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel again. On eight holes yesterday I had a 5 or less (including three putting twice when I was on in regulation). We won't talk about the other hole. Thank you!
đ thanks Tony! Glad the videoâs have been helping you đ
Hi! This is Andrés from Spain. I love your videos/lessons. Regarding this one, I have a question: when you say that you have to snap the towel in the rear part of your body, should you feel the same when "snaping" or throwing down the club in the downswing? Because I was tought saying that you should hear the shaft of your club making a woo more in the leading part of your body. Instinctly I tend to believe that you are right.
Thx, Danny. All good stuff. This is easier for me as a tennis player. I notice you hover the club over the ground at address. Is this better than resting club on ground to be more in an athletic state of readiness? What a golfer Jack is going to be! In his blood!
Hovering has always been a habit of mine since I was a boy. I donât think it adds anything to my swing but maybe it does z something to think about
Is the right leg straight at the top of the backswing? Another great lesson that will also help with tension in your arms.
I know this is a driver video but can these tips be used through the bag?
Love the videos!
Absolutely brilliant. This has been a tremendous issue for me: lack of confidence and then chaining compensations into the swing, making it even less powerful.
Doing this lower body "shuffle" along with more centrifugal force generates speed and power to the extent that there's not much time to throw in compensations.
So I would recommend let it rip and see what happens as this will help the body/timing much better than trying to compensate for body mistakes with the hands and arms.
Get the body right with power and the hands just need to maintain grip and the arms just need to go along for the ride.
Loved reading this, right attitude
Have you ever heard of the technique of slowing the hands down at impact to create a more whipping action of the club face. Like snapping a towel?. Am curious to know if that technique is possible?
Excellent tips, Danny. Golf is not a static sport, although the ball is static, we golfers should never be. The towel drill is fantastic for creating speed in the right location. Thanks for sharing. Cheers.
@roadtoscratchgolf3481 you are very welcome. Really glad you enjoyed it đđ»
Played 18 this morning and didnât strike my driver too well. This video is reminding me what I need to do. Iâm going back out for another 18 right now. Thanks, Danny.
