    ABOUT DANNY
    -----------------------
Thanks for stopping by. I created this website as a resource just for you to support you on your golfing journey as I know how tricky learning this game can be…to say the least!
I personally found learning the game too long and difficult in the early days. I read all the books, watched all the videos but my game was not improving. Then after studying various forms of neuro science, motor learning, psychology and personal development in less than two years I went from struggling golfer to the final stage of the Open Championship.
On CZcams and my personal website (www.dannymaude.com) I will bring you the most up to date training, training that is getting tangible results for my clients right now. I don’t know where you are in your golfing journey, you could be just starting out or maybe your body isn’t as flexible as it once was or you’ve got ambitions to slash your handicap. Wherever you are I’ve created a place here you can learn, share your ideas, ask questions and get all the support you need to enjoy this great game.
Be prepared though. If it's a quick fix you are after Im not your man. Here I will give you step-by-step advice that you can take straight to the practice ground and apply to the course but it will require you to get stuck in, screw up…a lot, practice some more and then watch those scores tumble
I’ve had the pleasure of coaching thousands of students all around the world and if you are up for the challenge and are ready to get in the game…LETS GO TO WORK!

far and away the my favorite instructor. no one else has the ability to break down the shot and explain it in such a relatable way. ive been golfing for about 8 years and have watched countless videos but until I found Mr Maudes videos ive never truly felt how a proper swing should feel. thank you sir!

I’ve wouldn’t be surprised if I’ve watched over 1,000 golf instruction videos. All along, I have been desperately searching for the factor of the swing that trumps all others in importance. One thing I could figure out that would help me play good golf consistent no matter what else I’m doing that day. I’m confident we have all just found it in this video thanks to Danny! I just took 20 dry hacks in my brothers kitchen with my 8 iron. It feels so right. Side note: This is my first CZcams comment.

THIS IS THE HOLY GRAIL!!! I took this advice to the driving range and WOW. I’ve shot in the the high 70’s exactly 12 times in my life. I know that because I keep those scorecards in my office but the amount of golf I play makes those scores extremely rare. 90% of the time I shoot between 85 and 95 and I’ve probably averaged 3-4 rounds a week for the past fifteen years. I played four times since I watched this video a week ago and shot an 83, an 80, and 79 twice👍⛳️🍻

Worked on this on the range today. Once I got the hang of it with a reliable club like 8-iron, I moved up to my (unhittable) 6-iron. It took a couple swings to get comfortable, but by the time I put the club away I was not only consistently making solid contact I was starting to shape my shots into beautiful draws and fades as intended. For the first time all year I have confidence in my 6-iron and can't wait to hit the course this weekend with one more weapon in my bag.

  • @garymacdonald2549
    @garymacdonald2549 Před 2 měsíci +2

Great lesson! I eventually arrived at this same type of swing last fall. I'm old and inflexible, but with the "y" set-up, the ball at center and paying attention to the elbows, I'm now compressing the ball at impact for the first time ever and hitting the best irons of my life. After my local course closed last fall and the ground had frozen (before the snow hit), I spent some time hitting balls up and down the empty driving range. Talk about instant feedback! Now you could really see the benefit of that compression now. Off the hard, frozen ground I was hitting these straight, long towering shots. Beautiful!
    Can't wait for spring.
Your lesson mirrors and reenforces my own swing method. Thank-you!

What a great lesson. I started playing golf at the ripe old age of 68. Now approaching 72 I've struggled mightily with inconsistent with ball striking. After watching the video and practicing the step by step elements of a proper and consistent structure I've come to appreciate how having one is necessary to better ball striking. Having a consistent structure has also helped me develop a more consistent "feel" so that when I start to fall into some old habits I can correct them in real time. Thanks Danny!!

Hey Danny, Mark here. Love your content Sir. Thank you. I'm self taught with the help of youtube videos. I'm currently at 10 and have been as low as a 6. My medium and short game is solid. I struggle with a two way miss off the tee . I feel like I have a grasp on the issue of this video but there is one related issue that I am still a but confused about. I maintain the straight arms at the elbows but with my leading arm, at address I can rotate ( twist longitudinally ) the elbow about 90 degrees to point the elbow either at the target, to create a slightly stronger feel, or elbow to the ground to create a weaker feel, all while maintaining grip and face angle with the hands at address. I'm a right handed. With my right trailing arm, I tend to rotate the arm as far clockwise as I can a address with the soft part of the arm outward. With my left leading arm however, I tend to just lock the elbow and leave it neutral ( with respect to the twisting action position ) as I always have but I can feel that I have a lot of latitude as to whether I could rotate it clockwise 45% or counterclockwise 45%. I'm wondering what is the prevailing wisdom on this finer nuance of the left/leading arm position issue at address?? Natural and neutral or rotated clockwise or counterclockwise?

Great video! Can you demonstrate this with the driver? When you talked about pushing the trail palm away is that the same thing Pete Cowen keeps talking about “spinning the right arm down”?

I've been watching Danny for a while, and this video might have changed my golf life. Concentrating on keeping my elbows together through the swing is a game changer for me. I have to practice a while at it, but first time out it was a dramatic improvement.

Great advice Danny, my Y structure can easily breakdown if I let it. Love the feeling of closer elbows at the top and trail palm pushing away to close the face. Then swing down underneath lead shoulder. Game changer for me 👍. Thanks again.

DM - You're the best!!! That worked wonders for me for distance and direction! It was like my old irons were new irons with this technique. Many thanks!

I have struggled with my swing for the last 12 months. I played my first round of 2024 yesterday in far from ideal conditions. I adopted the Y structure and used a three quarter swing. On every drive my shot went arrow straight. Same with my irons. I believed it worked for me because it does not take a lot to think about at set-up and it provides a discipline to the strike. I lost some distance as not yet confident to take the structure all the way back - but at least I was hitting the fairway each time and that’s good enough for me! Thank you Danny for your excellent drills and for putting them across so well.

Oh Danny! I've been on the move for the past couple of weeks so couldn't really interact all that much but rest assured I've been keeping up with these gold nuggets that you keep dropping on here and boy have I improved my game or what! All thanks to you lad, cheers!

Hi Danny, love you videos, as a high handicap golfer I was on the verge of quitting and your videos have inspired me to continue to try and play to the best of my ability. As a ‘right handed’ golfer I am actually left handed I.e. write and throw darts with my left hand. Does this scenario ever come across you with any of your students ? And if so are there any common pitfalls and any recommendations your could make for people like me 😂

Having been out of the game for over a decade I started to play again last spring. I realized I wasn't going to play like a pro, but I just couldn't strike the ball with any confidence. After watching this video I can honestly say I think you summed up almost all of my problems. Golf is still about 2 months away here in northern New York but I can't wait to start this drill in the garage. Thanks Danny for another great video.

THANK YOU! this fixed my distance and iron consistency. Relearning after 10 years off and major injuries I'll be back to low 80s in no time now!

I'm left side dominate but play right handed. For years I've tried to follow the tips of right handed instructors teaching right handed players. Your video gave me the confidence to trust my left side. Please keep us lefties in mind for future videos.

Hi Danny, thanks for your great video’s. Can you clarify that in this video you refer to holding the structure but in your 450 yard move video both you and James condone breaking the lead elbow. Thanks Mike
