we needed to keep costs down, so instead of splurging on high end parts, we hired 5 engineers to figure out how to do it all at home depot.
It´s a bit cheating isn´t it?

@@ineednochannelyoutube5384 I don’t know any of the engineers that worked on this car, but the SpaceX engineer that I know happens to be a petrol head, he said it’s very common hobby at SpaceX. They look for candidates that have experience either in aerospace or automotive clubs. If you race and build cars, it gives you an edge over the other applicants.

The car creaking and moaning as he just slightly leans on it every 5 seconds is hysterical. This car seems to be holding itself together through pure willpower, pretty damn impressive.
This has always been my favorite kind of engineering. Anybody can go to school and learn how to do things the "right" way, but being a good improviser, with craft and cleverness, well not everybody can do that. I love everything about this, the car and the race in general.

Fun fact, the mechanical fuel pressure regulator found on toyota engines like the 22R can handle up to 15psi even though in normal conditions they only go up to around 6 or 7psi, so when you turbo them you just stick a nipple into the regulator and add a boost hose to it and as long as you dont go over 7psi of boost your fuel pressure will go up 1:1 with the boost 😎 busy edumacating myself on modding our old gen4 hilux

Has anyone else bolted the rear wing directly to the tires? I've never heard of that before, it's freakin genius
It's a racecar thing, prevents you from loading the suspension. This way you have the full aero downforce pressing your tires to the ground for all that juicy grip.
If you think that's wild you should check out the Lotus 88.

@@quillmaurer6563 Not all crossovers are patheic. Small crossover are good enough for affordable and practical sporty cars. I even surprised a minivan that I drove yesterday has more body roll than my small crossover in my garage.
Edit: Of course they aren't comparable with actual sports cars and shouldn't replace it either. Small crossover are only comparable with small sedan and hatchbacks.

got the BF 323 GTX Turbo (GT4 spec 240bhp) and atm i looks at the tires in shame since these are in far better shape than mine....
my car all panels are changed for kevlar-composite and the whole car was designed for ice-rally and used for that for 15 years before i got it...
though a bit heavier since it now got modular roll-cage and partly interior so i can have it street-legal here, i wonder who's faster.
though i know which is cheaper...

Early high wings were super fragile and if they go off, at worst, they had the possibility to behead the driver and shit. So this one at least had more legit reason to be banned (But then 60s F1 was super dangerous and killed like half a dozen drivers yearly anyway so prioritizing that wing is still very fishy)

Depending on the height, the whole wing can attain resonant frequencies at multiple speeds and there is a really high chance that it breaks, even if it somehow didn't break, the swinging would cause serious imbalances in downforce and can even lift your rear end for split second

I want to run a bike that is basically a stock look but might run a sub 10 quarter without spending a fortune.
This kind of stuff is making this old man happy. I’ve had education, a career, love, a family and more.
But where other guys my age might join a country club and buy a golf cart, I’m going for a Triumph triple that might get under ten seconds.
I think it’s hereditary. My father rolled in an Olds V8 when V8s weren’t in everyone’s driveway.
And now I have one more fast vehicle.
