0:00 Intro
0:05 Dodge Ram 1500. The customer needed a new wheel, tire, brake rotor, spindle, lower control arm, and alignment.
0:18 2020 Ram 1500. The technician told the customer he should go to the dealership to get a new oil pan installed under warranty. The technician also mentioned he thinks the manufacturer just uses cheap metals and that's why the oil pan is very rusted with such low mileage on the truck.
0:31 Nissan Navara (diesel engine). The technician said it needed a new engine (found metal pieces in the oil pan underneath all that sludge). The customer got a used engine installed.
0:50 Technician removed object out of glove box and it closed.
1:07 Seat belt was in the way.
1:22 The technician said he was pretty surprised to see an imprint of the turkey on the front bumper.
1:32 You see DTCs for Cylinder misfires because the customer ran out of fuel. The technician filled up the fuel tank and it started without any issues and no more DTCs showed up once they were cleared.
1:52 The customer is lucky their vehicle didn't catch on fire at any point. If it backfired at any point it most likely would have caused a fire. They repaired the exhaust, fixed the heat shield, and replaced the fuel tank.
2:02 The technician turned off the high beams.
2:16 The vehicle wasn't sold and the technician was just doing the PDI (pre-delivery inspection) on it. I asked the technician about the engine oil and he says VW uses 0w-20 engine oil that is very green. I thought it was coolant at first but it's just the engine oil that they use. He said a new long block (complete engine) will be installed under warranty of course.
2:29 The customer was older and couldn't look underneath the vehicle herself so she brought it into this dealership. As mentioned somebody at the dealership took the kitten home to her family.
2:48 Info from the person who filmed this: "Riding down 15 North in San Diego and came upon a truck driving on its rim alone. Doing 65 mph. After passing him, I saw the rim explode into pieces in my rearview mirror and sparks start flying as he continues on the axle alone. Slowed down to let him catch up and this is what you see here. Still doing 65 mph with hazards on and no sign of slowing down."

@@Milnoc very punny.....🦃
Remember, the people dumb enough to need a mechanic to diagnose running out of gas, the high beam indicator, and moving objects to let a latch close are the same people licensed to drive right next to you on the highway. Never get too comfortable while driving.
I was about to post something similar. Also remember that their vote counts as much as yours!
My sister has been on the GM assembly line since 1977. Not knowing that she ran out of gas, the seat belt, the blue light, and the glove box are all things that she would do. Let that sink in for a moment.
Yea I learnt this the hard way a couple years back, trusting people is unfortunately a dumb thing to do, which says it all about this world

The "blue light" problem explains why I'm always blinded at night lol
This is not a stupidity issue anymore lol
This is about how the hell can they get their driving license?
When I took my driving lessons in 'Nam, they made sure to me that high beams are illegal to use in polulated areas.

It killed the turkey too
Pretty common with all birds. They coat themselves in dust to kill mites and lice.. if you ever have a bird fly into your house window go look at the window there is usually a perfect dust print of the bird.
Haha, I know I literally did laugh out loud.
It was like when you see headrest or airbag imprints of makeup off a woman's face.
That was pretty crazy
My dad and grandad were mechanics. Dad once said that he wished he could just take scissors to some people's licenses when they brought their cars in.
Should be like the BSA totin' chip - each violation looses a corner and when all 4 corners are gone you can't drive without retaking the test 🤣
I'd use the scissors to make sure they couldn't reproduce.
Report them to Vehicle Protective Services!
I'm only half joking - seeing these gives me a sympathetic physical pain in parts I don't even have!
I’m auto mechanic specialized in German cars. I fix cars, stupid I left to try a long time ago🤨
"Blue light on dash..."
That's part of the UK driving theory test, that person wouldn't have a car if they lived in the UK.
Lol the cat in the car always makes me smile ... My friends dad growing up was a mechanic and they took home a black kitten that was stuck underneath the car, named him oil slick and had him for 19 years before he passed ... He was an awesome cat.
I've always known that auto mechanics are suckers for cats. I got a stray pregnant cat back in about 1990, and a couple of months after her kittens were born, showed one to our mechanic, over his protests that he didn't want to see a kitten. I showed him a beautiful bluepoint boy and he instantly fell in love, named him Gizmo, and took him home to be his "shop cat". I moved away a few years later but Gizmo was still inspecting cars and customers when I left.
@@petuniasevan lol my best friend isn't a mechanic but when I met him 13 years ago he was adamant he was only a dog person and hated cats ...now he has 4 cats and spoils them rotten lol.
I thought cat deletes were illegal!
My brother drove 200 miles with a kitten riding on his frame. Hitting speeds up to 85 mph! When he got out of the truck, he heard it meowing, pulled it out, and a client took it off his hands... They make for incredible cats, as they've faced death head on!
@@brentknecht8893 My whole shop laughed at that. 🤣😂 thanks
This one had my jaw on the floor the entire time. That guy going 60mph on the rotor is straight up insane.
I expected in that last clip to be a while flock of police behind him as usually that is what I connect to people operating a vehicle like that. running from the fuzz.
Description says it happened in San Diego. They probably identified as having 4 wheels and kept on going.
"It tugs a little to the left ..."
he's prob american
LOL, no not insane, for to go insane one must first have sanity, I'd suggest stupidity and ignorance.
Unless the tire disintegrated immediately, there’s no way the cost of a tow truck costs more than the cost to replace a rim, a rotor & a control arm. This is me assuming the spare isn’t available for whatever reason.
I do not understand people anymore.
Probably had the 'donut' spare and did not put it on thinking it would destroy the front end. Thought the rims are strong and will not wear out under load. People are funny in a lot of cases.
Dodge owners are not the best nor the brightest drivers out there. Afterall, they are driving a vehicle whose name literally means AVOID. Tell me....how smart is someone driving something that tells you to avoid?
@@iamtheoffenderofall The driver for sure didn’t Dodge a huge repair bill
I swear this only happens in the US
Calling a tow truck requires waiting on the side of the road from 1-5 hours though, so I get it lol
They really need to make the driver's license test include something about how to operate and care for a vehicle
Wouldn't help in some states that got rid of the written exam ( Oregon for one )
Land of the Free. Feel free to not take care of your car and then blame it on the Brand (Ford, GMC, etc..)... oder the Garage that did the last service 3 years ago... and 150 th. miles
the uk driving test can include questions like checking your oil, tyre wear, depths and pressures and some other things too. the american driving test is a joke in comparison
Or maybe have a couple questions about what to do in case of vehicle malfunction. Like tire blowout or something.
The EU tests require the driver to demonstrate all basic controls and basic checks on your vehicle. For cars (every 2 axel under 3.5T) if you get a flat during the test you get to change he wheel and are assessed on it. But we still have incompetent drivers
Been watching your channel for awhile, and had to comment on this video. Specifically about the kitten. My wife and I were checking out our local Ford dealership 10 years ago, and heard a kitten. When we finally found her, it broke our hearts. She was dirty, scraggly, and very malnourished. She also had a broken front leg and was limping badly. We could tell she wanted help but couldn’t bring herself to let us get close to her. My wife went to get a can of cat food from a nearby store, and that was all it took. Since it was a holiday weekend, no vets around were open and we don’t have a 24hr vet here. A friend of mine offered to meet us halfway between our city and Chicago (1.5 hour drive) and he would take her to his emergency vet. Not only was her leg broken, it was a compound fracture and badly infected. If we had waited until our vet was open, she would have died. Luckily, she responded well to treatment and they saved her and her leg. Ten years later, she is fat and sassy, and we wouldn’t have it any other way!
This is a true, very true story, I asked my wife’s daughter through a previous marriage “How often do you get the oil changed in the vehicle?” With a confused look on her face she replied, “What oil” I pulled her dipstick and it showed very low and black. I told her mother she better tell her daughter that cars need oil changes, and her daughter had no idea the cars needed oil. I wonder how many kids these days have absolutely no idea what is involved in vehicle ownership.
I'd have to say if parents want their kids to be ok on the roads explaining how a vehicle works and what it needs to operate safely is a must.
You don't know what you don't know
we had an audi come in for jumped timing. The customer didn't know they had to change the oil. 😵💫
Actually this is not the kids fault, parents should educate their kids. I teach my daughter how to fill gas, inflate tires, fill the washer fluid etc and bring to dealer during service visits, show them how to avoid rip offs. Kids are not trees, can not grow themself.
Is this something that is covered in drivers Ed? I have no idea and of course not every kid does it and not every school offers it, and in those cases it’s up to the parents.
@@mccylk4441 Most of those clueless kids have clueless parents. Ignorance runs in families.
I'd spray some clearcoat on that Turky imprint. Make it last forever.

I'd probably just lift it with some clear packing tape and put it on a black background and hang it on the wall of the shop.

I'm a mechanic and I will admit a lot of the stuff I see makes me wonder how? And one of the best answers I hear for problems on vehicles the noise just started yesterday when parts are worn beyond repair
As a professional driver, I am amazed and saddened by how few people understand what the blue light is.
I had to stop giving driving lessons to keep sanity.
I'm not very savvy with cars but holy smokes it's terrifying how little some people know about basic issues/maintenance.
The scariest part is they have college degrees.
Same here, I guess having general reasoning skills has skipped a few people.

People who drive their cars broken and damage the cement on the highways should be charge, and made to repair all damages!

It’s also really unsafe since you have way worse handling and braking.
@@Sashazur You don't say. Thank you for that informative comment. Until now I never would of thought that driving with 3 tires would effect the braking and handling of that vehicle.
@@Stackali If that was a troll... well played!
Cute kitty! I'm glad that the kitten was safe and adopted. :)
It scares me enough that the US doesn't have an equivalent to the EU's Yearly MOT test, but now I'm thinking they should also introduce IQ tests before someone is even allowed to apply for a driving test 🤣🤣🤣
Many states do require annual inspections. In Virginia, at least through 1972(?), it required 6-MONTH inspections.
The shame is -- these same idiots are allowed to both vote and breed.
it's left to the states to decide to require periodic inspections. a few states require them annually or every 2 years. some states eliminated the requirement because it's a racket. in my state it was eliminated decades ago because people were paying shops under the table to pass inspection. and it affects people who need a car to get to work and don't make a lot of money the most. the inspections are mostly for shops to prospect for work.
Encountering low IQ situations can be hard to deal with sometimes, but it isn't possible for everyone to be smart. Heck, there are times that even smart people have a lapse in good judgement. The notion of "perfect" seems to truly be a paradox.

1:33 Its genuinely remarkable to me that there are people in this world who can afford an alfa romeo and yet take their car to a repair shop when it runs out of gas. Like sure yeah, dont even bother looking at the fuel or temp guages, just waste 500 dollars towing it to a mechanic shop on a whim. More money than brain cells I swear.
One thing that money can't buy is brains. No matter how hard they could try.
That must be one super efficient gas sipping alfa romeo or the driver that had it towed in never put gas in it ever (the other driver refueled when low) or thinks it magically runs forever... can make this up....
One of my absolute favorite demotivational pieces is a rich guy with clothing styled after the high-end car he drove... into a post on the road divider, just totaling his engine. The nearby diners at the pub by the roadside are just smiling and making "check it" gestures toward the accident, one even raising a toast to the guy taking the picture.
FERRARI: The more expensive the car, the greater the humiliation.
Afford? Alfas aren't particularly expensive (perhaps you're American, and I guess Alfas are seen as "exotic" and thus unnecessarily expensive in the USA). I think this case was more remarkable because Alfa drivers tend to be actually interested in cars.
I think he'll blame the gauge since it's to narrow to observe when it comes near empty.
Wow we had TWO people drive on a blown tire to the point of destroying the front end. That's kind of incredible
So instead of stoping to get help lets cause $1000 in damage to the car just to get to the shop quicker!
@@lancer1993 Heck, just a few decades ago, if one had a flat tire, you'd jack the car, pull the wheel, and take the tire to the shop to get it replaced, then bring it back and put it on. Brights. Back in the 80's my daily driver was a '68 Ford Torino with four headlights. The outboard lights were stock, but I installed 5" Westinghouse aircraft landing lights as inboards (high beam). Those aggravating idiots who drove in my direction with the little blue light on their dash on usually wound up in a ditch with fried corneas. It's amazing how well you can see things a couple miles away with those on. Still on there today.
Good story! I've had landing lights in all of my (sealed beam) cars since the mid 70's! The bad news is that they draw almost 20 amps, and burned the wires on a couple of cars. I now run them thru a relay and 20a circuit breaker.

My Fiesta is like that too. The difference between you and me and the person in that video... we know to look for an obstruction.
My son is a mechanic for a small city garage. The videos he sends me range from comical to frightening. These videos are real, these people are real!
this was one of my favorites thus far. The turkey made me laugh out loud.

just a small critique: I use the closed captions and when you position the additional information at the bottom of the screen, I can't read it when people are talking. If you could pop it up top or just make sure there's no voiceover or speech during the parts when you put text on screen, that would help a lot! Love your compilations. I've been addicted since I stumbled upon them!
I appreciate the feedback. I use to put the text on top then people wanted it on the bottom. I'll see what I can do. Thank you!
You just can't make this up. I've been a tech for 39 years and people never cease to amaze me
This is the best one yet, especially the hitting turkey one, that killed me 😂😂😂
I absolutely love your videos!! What scares the hell out of me is it people like this are walking and worse off driving on the highways and streets with us, the older I get all I can say is bring on that asteroid hit the planet I'm out of here LOL keep posting, while I'm still here LOL
I can scare you even more.
Those same people? They're reproducing.

"Ian, we have a situation."
"How bad is it?"
"It's the size of Texas."
"WHHHOOOPPIIEE!!!"
"Uh, Sir?? It's an Extinction Level Event...the end of Mankind if we don't stop it somehow!"
"Yes, I know..that's why I'm smiling!"

@@markh.6687 LOL, you get it!! You made me laugh!

High beam indicator & seat belt across seat latch. Contrasted with 30+K mile oil change and running P/U on three wheels.
You just cannot make this sh!t up!
DOUGout
I couldn't believe that last video, of the truck driving so fast on I-15 south!
3 wheels was astonishing too.

Clip number 2 with the 2020 Ram is why I have no faith in modern cars. I've seen modern cars sit in a grassy meadow for 30+ years and have more of an oil pan than that left, although their floors are usually optional at that point, but still! Odds are that antique boat will still run after 30 years of rest in a field.
What really gets me here is that since I possess a commercial drivers license and drive a highway rig for a living, I am obligated to do a daily vehicle safety inspection before taking to the road. Simple. This is a rather heavily enforced rule that all truck drivers have to comply with to ensure that our vehicles are safe on the road and pose no threat to the safety of others. If not, our job could be on the line. Or in worst case scenario, you could see jail time.
So, why is there no stricter safety enforcement on other vehicles like the ones shown on these videos? It would only be fair for all travelers.
No?
Nice to say BUT I have an A license as well (CDL for the yanks) and drive a shunt at an AMZN fc. Every day we have drivers drop trailers that do NOT pass our AMZN pre-trip inspection causing wasted time and money as the company must replace the trailer before we'll move it and it's usually the same 3 or 4 companies. Also they'll send a driver to pick up the trailer and they knowingly (driver AND company) take a trailer that will not pass inspection and in some cases is unsafe!
In the U.K. all vehicles over 3 years old have to have and pass a yearly check to be legal on the road, it’s baffling to me that America doesn’t do this.
anyone else laughing at the turkey one? such a routine job but with a hilarious twist.
Excellent Gyotaku on the bumper, well done bud! 👍
Should be mandatory to charge some of these folks an "Idiot fee".
As a mechanic it boggles my mind what people are thinking nowadays. I was born in the 70's and it was never like this.
2:49 when the boss calls and tells you that there is no excuses to not be at work!
BLUE LIGHT ON DASH, that's a good one!!
