it looks like they only took 3-4 thou off the deck, when you torque down a head gasket that difference is usually sealed

I'm more surprised Auto Makers aren't making them out of Plastic yet. Nearly 60% of engines built now are mostly Crap plastic that Cracks.
@@evildrizzt1 next season of sharp temp changes?? From 50-210 is sharp to me and thats a daily in the spring/fall not to mention winter of 0* to 210. 2-3 thou is not a big deal and that fresh faced head can be torqued to spec then instantly removed and will be out that much again without any heat cycles to warp it with…even worse if the block wasnt decked to verify it was true and flat
This is why I am tempted to remove the thermostat and just let it take 20 minutes to warm up lol

$80 for a quickie $120 for a whole half an hour.... But the memories last forever.
Whenever you don't use coolant to machine aluminum, as long as your tool is sharp and you've already measured the warp, I like to write down the different heights with marker and then take me skin passes leaving the final pass depth around 0.003" and also slow down the feed rate.
It's soothing to watch the high spot blue dissappear

Worked on a scion tc years ago. So hot loose head bolts. Had to put head in press to straighten it for camshaft before continuing.
I got a question . Do you mill the other mating surface? (Block) ... or is that all taken up by the head gasket? 🤔

Good point, learned from someone's experience about camshaft journals warping. The camshaft would always break.
А как на счет пастелей распредвалов, их ведь тоже соосными нужно делать. После такого полуремонта она разве что течь не будет из под прокладки, а валы в несоосных пастелях долго не прослужат.

How straight were the cam bores? Looks like that jead was overheated pretty bad and lifted in the center. Often times an OHC should be heat straightened first, or your cam bearings will be tweaked.

Mas como que vocês pintaram esse cabeçote que conseguiu pintar até as válvulas dos pistões? Kkkkkkk tem que ter as manha até na hora de medir o empeno do cabeçote, a régua não pode estar escorrendo tinta pra todo lado, tem que tirar o excesso pra fazer a medição correta
does this affect the compression ratio of the engine? removing some material will cause the cylinder to be smaller during the stroke right? i am no engineer nor at the level of an enthusiast. This is just a legit question that popped up on my mind and i would greatly appreciate any clarification :)
