They are perfect for gaming experience. You don’t need Ryzen 9… They are used for other things like video editing or software development.

Because this guy is somehow being biased as shit towards AMD LMAO. saying "you don't need a i9 for gaming" when if you want the most performance for gaming especially for esports games which are heavily cpu bound games then getting a i9 13 or 14th gen cpu is what you wanna get. Gamers Nexus has shown the i9 14900k is the fastest gaming cpu on the market currently for gaming. Yes as a budget cpu an i9 is almost never worth it. But again if you want top performance then the i9 14th gen is going to be what gets you it

i have built three budget AM5 PCs for friends and family so far. these rigs were intended to be upgradeable in the future. After some compatibility issues with an MSI board (am5 was really new and bios/memory compatibility was crap then) i switched to ASRock and stayed with it ever since. no issues so far.
      Boards i used:
      1. ASRock B650M-HDV/M.2:
      -about 120 bucks
-proven to be able to handle the 7950x under all core load in cinebench
      -2 M.2 slots (1 pcie 5.0)
-only 2 RAM slots (not really an issue)
-no 3 pin ARGB headers though!
      2. ASRock B650M PRO RS:
      -about 140 bucks
difference to the HDV/M.2: some white paint, a little bit of RGB, 4 RAM slots, a third M.2 slot (two lanes only) and most crucial: some 3 pin ARGB headers!
      3. ASRock B650M PG Riptide
-about 160 bucks (not really budget anymore imo)
-a bit like the PRO RS with some RGB but in black
      -beefier voltage regulation

I wouldn't necessarily call the 5000G CPUs a waste of sand, they have a place, and no, it's not because of the iGPU, but because they are always slightly cheaper than the non-G counterparts, this is where the 5600G shines, it is cheaper than the 5600 yet not as stripped back as the 5500 (The stripped down 5600G) 5700G is not as great because it doesn't fall into low budget the same way, making the 10 ish pound difference in price not as important

Well my i5 4590 with 8gb of ram got pretty long in the tooth and screams for an upgrade. The main aplication for my next build is to do 3D modelling in Creo, Blender and Alias, video editing in Vegas PRO; some later AAA games and some 6-8 year f2p old games. The GPU i have is a RX5600XT. Even tough Intel has better performance/core for the programs mentioned above, i’ve already bought a MSI B550M Mortar for cheap. Im wanting to buy 5950x second hand and get the 32gb ram and a d ak 620 cooler for it. Here in eastern europe i find 5800x at @ 180$ 5900x at @250$ and 5950X at@330$. Wich one would you buy?

So my understanding for a good budget cad system cpu is very much on point with either 7500f, 7600 or 12600kf on ddr4 for best single core performance to price ratio. Great to know, thanks!
Ps, 7500f here is 160 euros or so, 7600 is about 190 and 12600kf is about 210.

Cad as in rendering? The more cores/threads the better for that, so for the money, maybe a 13600K/13500 might be worth looking into. Otherwise 7500f is it.

In the US? I’m seeing it sold for $185 which is better, but it needs to be $160 ideally. 12600K is still a better gaming CPU.

@@ScatterVolt In Indonesia the price gap between 13 and 14 gen is only around USD10 or less, so is it better to grab 14 gen instead?
Also, between 14600K and 14700K which one is better for RTX 4080?
The price of original RTX 4080 here is in between 4070 TiS and 4080 S..

Great video as always. I have an i7 8700k. Should I upgrade to a newer Intel chip, go the AMD route, or keep the 8700k and get a better GPU? I currently have a GTX 1060 6GB.

    • @Blue-ev5ow
      @Blue-ev5ow Před 3 měsíci

The GPU is definitely your bottleneck for almost everything. I ran an i7 7700 with a GTX 1060 3gb, and upgraded to a 1080 later on. CPU technology advances far slower than GPU when it comes to effective performance, which is why even ten year old processors can still run modern games with decent performance- very few GPUs are capable of such a feat. If you want a bit more CPU performance, you can try a bit of overclocking with that chip anyway if you havent already. Only thing is, if you use your PC for a lot more than just gaming, you might start to feel the lack of cores on your performance. Currently I am switching my main desktop to a Ryzen 5 5600x that I got with a motherboard deal for just over $200, so you can still find some awesome options like that if you are willing to spend a bit more and make the switch.

I disagree with some of the intel cpus, the 14700k is at least a c tier cpu. It is an upgrade, it has 4 more e cores, 0.1ghz more boost clock. The 13700kf in my opinion should be s tier. It os literately 12900k refreshed for cheaper and it is affordable. I feel like this is a bit biased to amd, cause these are just considering gaming, not really creativity tasks.

I have 7950x3d, i bought it when 7800x3d was still 500€, so getting 8 (faster for normal use) cores extra for half price felt worth it. Also i did 8! years with i5 3570k, that made me think that for how much i use pc, that having backup cores is handy, i soon will also do heavy Davinci editing. This is the only cpu that felt 'complete' to me: Fast in games: check, fast in all-core workloads: check, efficient in both gaming and workloads: check, future proof, check, temperatures not crazy high 95° on 7950x and even more on 13900k sorry my cpu needs to last, this is not healthy even if it 'might not die' plus good efficiency fixes usually temps on it's own, so why have cpu like 13900KS?
Good to see you agree'd, i think the 7950x3d is underrated, many recommend the 7950x or 13900k or 7800x3d over it, but all of these cpus (except maybe 7800x3d) have downsides, the 7800x3d is a tad (but less then you would think) slow in worloads, the 7950x3d smashes it all.
As for expensive 3950x was 850€ dropped to 700€ only AFTer 5950x was launched then didnt drop further. 5950x was very expensive at first, 850>999> 825 (long time), then to strongly be discounted when 7000 series came, and now even further, but the 7950x3d is in the situation without a succeeding cpu out yet, if we consider x3d cache to be worth 100€ (see 5800x3d vs 5800x), then it's 599€, that is lowest price for a cpu yet... and with plenty advantages like newer node, now upgradable platform, i see all the 5800x3d hype, and you know what? I'm to late for that, if i bought 5000x it would be as 'new pc' thus non upgradable. Sad, so i wanted this whole hype advantage, so i had to get AM5, now my plan is to get 9950x3d if it ever gets massive discounted. And if not my current cpu rocks.
Also ram was rumored to be more expensive and it is (+50€) while cpu (black friday only) was 120€ cheaper, that 70€ was worth it for 6 months i'm enjoying this insanely fast cpu. Getting Starfield for free also eased up the pain.

I could write a book on the unequaled attributes of the legendary AM4 platform and the impact of its tech wonder final upgrade parts, the 5000X3D CPUs. I would settle for S tier as a proper acknowledgement to the near perfect back end of future proof upgrade path planning.
