Hey guys it's Riley from the video can you imagine my shock when I learned I could get 50% off my first order of CookUnity meals and all I had to do was go to cookunity.com/tech50 and use code TECH50 at checkout?? Hey Riley, please buyout Tech Linked from LTT and turn it into a writer/host cooperative so you guys can actually be treated well like you deserve. We’re here for you, not Linus and co.
I enjoy cookUnity. It's a lot less wasteful then other food delivery meals things since it has a program where it picks up the bag/ice pack and reuses it. I can verify the reuse since the handles are sometimes broken 🤣
While other companies packaging is usually recyclable ... The likelihood of it being recycled seems low considering all the issues with recycling.

There never was an excuse, they just want to charge everyone an extra $200 for $20 of RAM.

The catch all term for "headset stuff" is XR, extended reality
Exactly
Augmented reality (AR) is already a perfect term that exists, and is what everything is trending towards anyways.
Plus it’s perfect for some company to patent AR as “advanced reality”, make a successful headset that disrupts the industry which will lead to people not knowing what it really means/stands for.
AR does not include entirely virtual stuff like VR games. IMO the best term is VR because there's something virtual in any case. Doesn't matter if you augment reality or mix it with virtual elements.
No it's not. AR stands for Augmented Reality. it's for things like the Hololens, which project stuff on a piece of glass you look through (tho that didn't stop people from naming anything that projects onto the real world, like Pokemon GO AR). Mixed Reality (MR) is basically the same but through cameras (EG. Quest 3, Apple Vision Pro, Varjo XR3 etc). XR is the actual current term for everything
@@zapl80Huh? VR covers your entire field of vision (or as much of it as physically possible) to immerse you in an entirely virtual world. For a term that encompasses both, XR is the one you're looking for (internally in much software it is just called XR because stuff like tracking and stereoscopic rendering is still common between both techniques)
@@Terrain2 i don't think XR is a good term once you add the meaning extended reality to it. A virtual environment is not an extension, xR as in ?R would have worked but the entire field suffers from marketing bs. See the difference AR vs MR they are trying to make, that's just nonsense.
@@zapl80 What is extended reality? I've never heard anyone say that the X in XR stands for Extended. XR is supposed to be ?R, yeah, and it basically just means you are tracking a human's head and hands and potentially other limbs and other objects, and manipulating their field of vision in some way through the HMD. In its purest form it basically refers to tracking of objects in 3D space, for the purpose of a realtime virtual environment (be that fully immersive or not)

@@bassam_salimit's still augmented with virtual stuff, and that could be included in "virtual reality" in a broader sense than "100% virtual" like when VR is used in comparison to AR or MR which are necessarily less than 100%. I think the most significant motivating factor to Meta offering their OS to other companies is actually Google. Specifically, the announcement that Google, Samsung, and Qualcomm co-operating for the premium Samsung VR headset slated (so far as I'm aware) for later this year.
Google starting to take VR more seriously with such a high-end device is absolutely a threat to Meta's early lead, since there should be nothing stopping other companies from being able to use Android-VR as their OS as it's backed by a tech giant, and is free to boot.
The Apple Vision is probably less of a justification for them to open up their OS to 3rd parties. Rather, it's the AV's sleek and intuitive user interface that kicked Meta into improving their own.
I think Valve should make their own vr system. Their latest products are really good and I just love Valve as a company. + I can't imagine the amount of ads in a system made by Meta.
