- The G2 OLED is LG’s best 4K OLED TV in 2022. It costs a premium, and it should feel premium in addition to having premium picture quality. The picture is looking good (really, really good), but there are a few things you should know before you buy.

Hey everyone! I fully expect LG to reach out and tell me how I installed the stand incorrectly, but I followed directions and used the hardware included. I can’t be the only one who had/will have this experience. What do you think? Did I get it wrong? Or is the desktop stand just not good? Thanks for watching and let’s push past 950K subs!
if you ever host a AMA when you get to 1m subs, i want to ask you how you lost all the weight while juggling so many videos. amazing work.
I just installed my stand on my G2 83", I believe it's supposed to be that way.
Caleb no need to apologise everytime you said something or did, when something scks it scks, thanks for your honest. At first look, it looks like is LG G2 halfproduct in desktop stand, cable management with it and color panel fail. But yeah G2 is meant to go on the wall, it looks like the didn't bothered to dig deep for desktop stand even if you pay extra... 10 years in OLED and still this fails. I think I'm not overreacting, it's a flagship, it should be brilliant infront and the back of the TV....
Caleb, I appreciate your honesty, that’s why I’m here 😉. Keep up the great work!!
@@brantlisk786 Thanks! I will always strive to do my best!
I never really took much notice of OLEDS till a friend of mine bought a C1 I was at his house a few times and marvelled over how good the c1 looked. I liked it so much I went out and bought my own c1!
Does Netflix really look that much better on it than a non OLED TV?
@@shmookins I have a c1. It's not just Netflix, movies look better.
@@shmookins I would say it does big time. I had a Samsung TU8000 which when I bought it was the top of the line non QLED the year it came out. The picture difference in Netflix and everyother bit of content is huge. I am a huge Star Trek fan and I have recently been re binge watching Voyager. The picture quality is out of this world with it and it is a 20 plus year old show.
@@patriciogarcia6804 their tv was basic, edge lit, without any kind of local dimming. A good LED with well-implemented FALD comes very close to the OLEDs in dark rooms, and they are much better in bright rooms, having an average of 5x more nits in a window 50 and 100%
I love mine too.
I currently have the lg cx oled. Had it for about 2 years 3500+ hours and this tv is amazing. Love playing pc games on it or watching Netflix. Will get another oled for the living room when I get my house.
My first OLED Tv experience was during Black Friday at Best Buy I saw the 55 inch Sony A1 4K OLED and fell in love with the picture. It was Black Friday so I ended up buying it and I took it home with me that day. Since then, probably 2018, I have been very happy when I watch movies and Netflix with it. Not only was the picture beautiful but the screen acting as the speaker was really nice! Still my main go to Netflix and Dolby Vision tv today!
My first Oled experience was when it arrived at my home. After seeing all you Oled review to that point I took the plunge and purchase an LG E9 a few years ago and it is my best tech purchase today. And still one of my favourite designs with the screen in glass and integrated sound bar.
I love how raw he is with the stand being wobbly. When he is revieweing the input ports, you see the entire TV shake while hes lightly putting in the HDMI cord.
Agreed, glossy screens definitely have a sort of unlabeled “richness” to them that matte screens do not
matte is like smearing a bit of vaseline all over the screen haha. it'll dull light reflection for sure but also everything else
It's due to the way that matte screens work. If you want a layer that does light diffusion, better prepare for the light to diffuse
@@TheWadesauce and the colour, and the black level
I’ve owned both and I disagree
@@ApacheRambo the matte screens can still look better in many environments. But like... They're objectively worse image quality. Any good display review will differentiate the pros and cons
The first OLED that I saw, was the 65G6V, I think 7 years ago in an electronic store. I was stunned by that slim beast. It was packed with the best tech at that time and had absolutely EVERYTHING (HDMI 2, 3D, 4.2 Sound Speaker, WiFi, USB 3.0, aso) I had to buy this monster and have it still on the wall. Even if it looks a little bit dimmed nowadays.
Ever since I bought the Galaxy Nexus in 2011, I could never go back to a none-OLED phone. Same with OLED TVs. I just upgraded from a LG C7 to a Samsung S95b. Sony is undoubtedly better. But for the price, Samsung and LG C/G series are pretty good.
Interesting video, thanks guys. I've just gone from a 48" C1 to a 65" C2 and noticed a considerable increase in brightness (the increase in size may account for some of that I suspect). Still find WebOS clunky although at least it's noticeably less laggy on the C2 (and G2, no doubt). Look forward to the full review!
Reading tech news at my parents (probably 2008) about a 2007 12” Sony OLED XEL-1 and thought it was a fascinating new world so I began to follow something called OLED info. But 10 years LG. Congrats.
Another quality piece of content! thanks Caleb!
I really enjoyed this review. There’s a fine line between honesty and negativity and I think you pulled it off well. Definitely subbed 👍
I agree with the gloss screen feeling too, they always seem to have a better color depth to me.
Kind of related. I just picked myself up a 77 inch C1. The price is too good to ignore now. I appreciate all the videos you do. It really helped me make my decision.
The first time i saw OLED TV´s was at IFA 2012. And that year LG got big competition from Samsung too. Because that year they both brands wanted to impress you with the technology. That was fun and interesting to watch and learn. But much has changed and luckely got better since then.
Thanks, Caleb, good job as usual.
I was at the London gadget show when I first saw an OLED tv and I did a double take at it cos I didn't believe how good it was showing the content. It was so sharp and vivid that it almost looked 3D to me.
I was so close to buying this tv.glad i went with the s95b
Congrats on hitting a Million, Caleb!!!
I’ve been watching all of your TV reviews for 7 months, and I find them irreplaceable in shopping for my first TV in 8 years. I was lost at sea until I found your reviews that are understandable, insightful, pragmatic, and specific (and I’m a very compulsive person). Thank you for all of your content and navigating me closer to a purchase.
I love this comment! Thanks, Dennis! Hope you are getting closer on deciding that big purchase!
What TV are you thinking of getting, I'm investing myself in the next few months. For me I'm thinking Samsung S95b, only thing holding me back is lack of dts support.
@@Russman1966 I have always been a fan of Samsung, but I am seriously considering Sony. I’m deciding, evidently like you, between flagship models-the Samsung S95B and Sony A95K. I’m impressed by the image processing in the Sony technology. I worry about the S95B motion smoothing that Caleb mentioned in his review because I watch CZcams through AppleTV on the television. However, Caleb didn’t seem too fussed about it. TBH, I haven’t decided. I tend to hold on to tech to the end of it’s useful life so when I do purchase I tend to buy tech on the leading edge so it’s not immediately outdated after purchase. That’s where I am so far. I don’t have DTS or Dolby Digital systems so that’s not a consideration for me. It takes me forever to make up my mind. I hope you buy a great TV!
Hi Dennis, my friend who works for BBC who knows a great deal about audio visual tech has more or less made my mind up for me, and also after watching a fair few different reviews I think I'm going to opt for the Sony A95k. Just a shame about the price bracket. I may just wait for a deal to arrive, in no rush. 👍
@@Russman1966 Thank you! You and your friend have confirmed where I am leaning. I may wait, like you for a price drop, perhaps on Black Friday in November. I hope the Sony A95K goes on sale, possibly in preparation for the 2023 models. 👍
Around That time Tech was rapidly and vastly growing, I was in school but I would have my CZcams loaded with CES footage to enjoy when get home. I really started to learn more about technologies/internals 2009-10 too so it was a lot of info
What a video. thanks man! I’ll be waiting for that xbox gameplay test :)
Good review.... I recently purchased the G2...but did the wall mount... While not perfect, it does look very nice mounted on the wall. The one thing I have come to notice is that I had an issue with starting up the G2 with my Denon (brand new) Directv, using my Control 4 remote. The technicians who are knowable had a problem with getting this to work using the Contol 4 remote. When I attempted to power it on...it would turn everything on...except the G2 tv. I know there is a "standby..." control you can select within the settings...but I would rather not have the tv power on all night when I am not using it. Would be interested in your comments on this feature and whether LG will correct this problem. Look forward to your thoughts on the other aspects of the G2, as well.
First OLED I ever seen is my new C1 55inch I just purchased on a huge EOFY sale for $1895AU dollars, and finally just grabbed an Xbox series X as well.
I can't get over the difference from an xbox 1 to a series x on my C1.......it's is absolutely incredible in HDR....I can see things I never seen before playing COD MW, and watching HDR movies on prime is just so good.
Glad I watched your reviews as it swayed me to get the LG......Amazing TV 😀
I love my 77” G2! Awesome picture quality for movies and gaming.
thanks for this lg g2 quick review hope to see the full review of the lg g2 oled 2022 from you.
Saw it at P.C Richard in my home state of NJ. It was 1080p of course and those blacks. I was like wow!!! Yep about 10 years.
Haha the first time I knew of Oled TV was a week ago when we decided to upgrade from a plasma tv that just won’t die. Bought an LG Oled C2 77 inches and installed it last night, still finding our way.
The stand was the reason i was going with the A90J, but got the A95k when I saw it as an open box discount.
I truly appreciate this video. I have been looking at the C2 and G2 and was leaning to the C2 and this locked it in. This is the best honest review channel. Thank you Caleb!
If you wallmount, get the G series for sure. C series sucks for wallmounting because of the huge box on the back and thin panel on the top. Looks horrible if you can see it from the side.
@@Dr.WhetFarts Thank you for this feedback! We are mounting it on an entertainment center so I am hoping it won't look too bad. I appreciate your thoughts on it!
Saw a tiny OLED screen at the now closed Sony's NYC store. So thin and amazing colors!
Great that you point out the negative sides too so don’t feel bad 😊. 90% for me is the picture. But I also want the rest of the 10% that you pointed out to be great. Like cable management, quality of the stand etc.
Ok now I'm subscribing You for honest review, I think is fair trade...
I didn't realize how much effort and time and thought you had to put into setting this TV up! You made me think twice about purchasing it, I can't see myself fussing with the connections and later trying to add a sound bar! This TV set up sounds like a real mess! Thanks for the unboxing of this product it is appreciated.
Worth mentioning, those clips (same as G1) make flush mounting to the wall a nightmare. They pop every time you go to push back the tv. Astonishingly bad for the cost of these TV's. Recommend planning ahead with additional tape.
Pihole. I highly suggest it. My G1 has never had an advertisement on it. With the latest firmware the tiles at the top are gone and not an ad to be seen.
Got C1 55” for my XboxX that I just got, works well. Don’t watch movies on it since have 120” screen with JVC 2000 4K projector. Old stand on C1 is fine
This is my second Oled TV from LG. I don't and haven't had any problems. LG Oleds are the best!
I mounted mine on a stand. I thought I was going to need to use the wall mount, but there are mounting screw points. Looking at it now. This is insanely bright
The first time I saw an Oled Tv I was shopping at Kojima in Yokosuka Japan. Blew me away!
Helpful hint Caleb, once the digital OTA channels are scanned you can skip the cable channels.
Really sounds like you should buy a 3rd party table stand mount if don’t want to wall mount the TV.
If LG can have “A” and “B” series models they surely can bring back the “E” series for an elegant stand solution.
So glad you mentioned the optional stand! The thing is TERRIBLE all things considered. For such a premium purchase, the stand is overpriced (~$200) and not stable!
This is a fantastic TV - I too however hated that raked back angle and the flimsy stand - I the end I bought a Panasonic LZ2000 which uses the same panel, fantastic TV that so far I’m 100% happy with.
Love the videos ✌🏼
Hey Caleb! Love your videos bro! First time i saw an oled tv technically was in 2007 when I was working at the Apple store in the Westchester Mall in White Plains NY. There was a sony store with that little baby 11 inch oled tv…. For like $2400 lol… thats more than I paid for my 65” cx in 2020🤣🤙🏼
Hi, I have a question. Today I had an lg oled 77 g2 TV installed. It is placed in a high position in the room. At the moment of installation, the installers placed it on the fixture. One side sat well and the other side did not. As a result, it came loose from the fixture and its rear plastic has some marks from the fixture. Would you require a replacement for a new TV? In such a situation because of some signs that are not visible or remain with the existing TV?
When I was 50 I decided to get the lg 65 c9 oled. Mom needed a new tv so I gave her my Samsung 55 inch tv. It was a big upgrade from her 13 year old 42 inch Vizio tv. It was fantastic going to the lg oled. I love how good it looks and the widescreen bars do not glow from the back light. Star Wars looks in credible in 4K.
This is looking to be my first oled
Completely agree regarding concerns with the stand. LG, fix this, now!!
Awesome review, thank you. Conveyed the necessary info without irrelevant natter. Am considering buying the 55" model but the stand sucks. For me wall mount is not an option and wonder if there are any other options that will suit, even those cheap-looking metal legs would be fine. Appreciate any comments
I actually came here to see if any mention was made of the vesa mount as wall mounting isn't an option for me either. I'm using a floor standing trolley with a standard vesa mount for my current 55" LG LCD and the G2 documentation doesn't seem to even mention it (i'm assuming the four holes around the LG Oled logo are the vesa bolt holes as the specs say there is vesa compatibility) There are plenty of 3rd party universal vesa tabletop stands that are cheaper and probably better than the LG one £100 ($130) for a stand is ridiculous. Mine is coming on Wednesday if I can't just whip the mounting arms off my current TV and swap them over i'm going to be more than irritated.
Thank you!
Awesome video I really like the G2 but that tilt back didn't look right to me either
I went with my old man to buy a new TV, we were looking at the regular Xioamis, Samsungs, and then we saw the C2 and said wtf (in a positive way) and then could just not get over how good it was.
I ended spending 2x the initial budget but got the 55" C2, no regrets.
I remember how it felt to look at an OLED for the first time
I hope LG provides tv stand with G2 next year. I wanted to buy the g2 but didn't bought it and went for c2 coz I wanted a tv stand with the tv.
just buy a third party stand?
Man, that's a shame it's that wobbly. Wouldn't want my expensive tv on that stand for sure, I'm sure its overpriced as well. Just bought a 77 C2, looking forward to using it! Currently have a 42 inch C2 as my pc monitor mounted on an ergotron arm and it's glorious!!!! Great information provided as usual...thanks!!!!!
Yes, Your feeling is right. Glossy (no matte layer) have better color representation
I loved the rack back look of the Sony's from back in the day. With the 'monolith stand' as a (maybe incorrectly) recall. But it's not confidence inspiring with a narrow stand like on the G2.
Thank you Caleb for this unboxing video. As for all the quirkiness that LG has done for G2, I can't wait to get my full experience from unboxing an LG G3 55". You would think a video like this would be a huge turn off to have a majority of viewers to just choose a different brand. What I see is the same majority watching this video and saying OK I know what to fully expect from LG because LG display quality is too good and outweighs all the problems and can be overlooked. Like watching the TV from the front and not the sides.
It would be interesting on what kind of stand the G3 55" gets over a 65" and will it have the same rocking motion?
Shockingly, because of CES 2023 and some fear of missing out on the LG G3 with the latest MLA tech for Oled. I'm thinking of going all out for this Oled upgrade from Vizio QLed. The lower nits on the M-Series over time and the dirty white screen effect from a LCD display time might be the best time ever to upgrade to an Oled TV without the oled problem in a bright daytime room.
Since the time I had it my Vizio still offers a great picture for a 50". Even in SDR. Nothing about it is outdated from 2020. However with LCD backlighting there is no getting over the dirty white screen effect that 90% of the entire screen is affected by it, one side of the screen doesn't match with the other half. I have a tan blotch on the right lower side and even horizontal bars at the top of the screen. On a grey scale with low nits you just don't get bright whites or really the deep blacks details because of halo effects.
After watching the first 5 mins of this review, makes me really appreciate my LGCX
I agree. I can’t believe it’s already been 2 years since I bought my 55” CX. It doesn’t seem that long ago but it’s been excellent and flawless so far. Would love to jump up to a 65” of whatever the newest version is at some point but I’m still impressed with this one. No need to upgrade just yet.
@@marshallfox1786 QD OLED is breathtaking. Keeping my 77 inch CX until manufacturers start making the bigger sizes at a reasonable price.
Which sound mode you suggest for lg c2 oled ? Dolby atmos enabled with only internal speakers?? DTM on or off for filmaker mode hdr?
I think if I bought this TV, I’d use one of the alternate stands I saw on Amazon. They don’t come right down to ground level, like the LG stand, but they do leave enough room for a sound bar, and the stand accommodate 88 to 90 lbs, and seem much more stable, and they too, hide the wires.seems like a win, win, situation !!!
Which stands on amazon give room for a sound bar? They are all placed on the center of the TV so if you have a rather smal TV dressoir, you won't be able to put a sound bar in front of your TV. This is my problem as i REALLY want the G2 but my dressoir only has 35cm of depth. Ugh the perfect tv doesn't exist.
@@Fuzz_Buzzard, if you go to Amazon, Nick, and type in universal tv stand, up will come a number of stands from 27 to 50 dollars. They are all adjustable, up and down, and use the same mounting holes, you would use to mount it on the wall. Once you see a picture, you will get the gist of how it works, and how to install the TV, on the stand, leaving room for the sound bar under the TV, sitting on the bottom of the stand.
Was in Store and WTF it was far the best tv right now, QD What ! So i buyed the G2 and its Epic ! A level up to the G1 i has befor
Hi Caleb I'm watching this video for the second time today. [1/8] I'm requesting that when you test the G3 for 2023, would you make an attempt to try to review the 55" for people that have a smaller spaces? I know your channel is for the big size of 65 and bigger for big theater set up.
On that question here is another Do screen size matter for OLED in bright rooms. Modern tv's have gotten better for anti glare panels anyways so I don't get why that's a problem for OLED TV's like the G2. I also like how LG is giving the the G3 a 5 year warranty. Even Samsung isn't doing that for it's QD-LED.
I considering getting the G3 but only in a 55" and when the price is right. My Vizio isn't bad but at 600 nits at maximum, and with the dirty white screen effect on my M Series M-7 50 in., with OLED screens getting better than what it was last year and the years prior even 3 years ago. I think this this the perfect year to upgrade to OLED from QDLED.
I did watch the Vincent Teoh's video on the G3 and his was fantastic of all of them because he shows MLA on how it works to make the Oled light brighter on the screen. It also the computer processing chip that making inroads on OLEDs. You should make your own video same subject or least borrow pieces of it from his and share his link. He's the only youtuber that has shown MLA. One day Caleb I think the TV manufactures are going to bragging Microchip processing technology in the next few years on how they going be faster than any Navida chip at getting super AI picture accuracy and to get that 3000 nits level.
I really like your videos so I'm hoping you can answer a question for me. My LG B6 always shows DolbyVision logo upper right screen. My new C2 doesn't. How do I know if I'm watching a DolbyVision movie?
what about compared to the c2 now that is has an evo screen. looking to buy a 83 or 77 and would like to save the 1400 difference if possible
My apologies on the error. What get for trusting this old grey matter. My LG IS a 2019 OLED 65" C9. When purchased I was researching the B & C series and settled with the C's since I upgrade about ever 10 years(😂)
what third party stand would you recommend for the the G2?
I guess adding a link pulls your comment? Anyway, I have a 65 inch G1 only 6 months old and wanted a G1 over the C1 because the G1 was the better panel and the better warranty. I never wanted to wall mount it and the extra cost legs wouldn't work for me due to furniture size. Costo has a Sanus table stand that tilts, rotates and lets me fit my Samsung HW-Q950 soundbar without being blocked or blocking the screen. Highly recommend it.
My first OLED was in 2009 in Tokyo at the Sony 'store' (expo center). The XEL-1 was behind a glass case, a $3000 11" TV playing the Final Fantasy VII Advent Children movie and it was glorious. The thinness at that time seemed like science fiction. The black levels, were mind blowing. My friends had to drag me away.
My first OLED was the LG c2 55 inch, and wow. I've been missing out :p
I saw the same one in Ontario Canada about the same time just got the g2 last night waiting for setup, very impatient!!! Lol
I was at a sams club and they had the LG C9 and was my first OLED I ever saw and fell in love with it
I would not call your criticisms "negativity." Given how you described the shortcomings, I'd say you are providing good information for people to make informed choices. And I totally agree that at the price point one should expect NOT to have the issues you have illuminated. Makes me wonder what the heck they are thinking at LG? Did they leave the testing to junior staff? Thank you.
How much room does the stand leave for a soundbar under the TV?
@@joshuanichols5029 Sorry, don't know. I was commenting on the way Caleb does his reviews. I don't own that TV.
Hi thx for ur reviews. Can you please take a look at the Problem related to using HGIG when gaming?
I believe this has been fixed with the latest firmware update
No doubt, the gloss adds to the quality of screen... I agree. 👍
First oled screen I saw was in a mall in Sony store they had a oled screen 10inchs and the colors blew me away
Yeah, gloss really does bring out the depth of black whereas the matte look makes blacks look more charcoal. Some people choose this over glare, which I respect, but matte is not for me
That first commercial OLED monitor by Sony back in the day i used to go check out at Best Buy and teach passers-by about the tech. I think it was like 11inch and 5k dollars. Dreamed of the day i would own one. Still don't lol.
First oled i saw was the one i Bought about 6 years ago. LG B version. But after 5 years some colours showed up wrong in some areas. LG said it was top long time to exchange the panel. But that is the risk for pretty early adopters. I tested a pretty premium micro LED tv but the light in wrong areas around bright parts of the image was crap so returned it. I heard that the oled panels had improved during the years so I got the LG A1 for half the price of the B version. Hope it stands the test of time. During this time i still use my LCD tv from grundig in the bedroom, 13 years old…
I have same problem with my B version, especially witch blue color.
#1 rule of tech: Never be the early adopter.
The first time I saw the OLED was at CES 2013 . The OLED technology has come a very long way in 10 years. A television starting at $10,000 to $1500 is very amazing for a technology that provides a perfect black.
Is it worth getting extra warranty if the g2 comes with 5years ?
3:10 Philips have the right idea with their stands on their 807 OLED this year. It swivels and it such high quality, made of metal.
Which TV would you recommend for a non gamer looking for 83 inch TV at same price. Sony A90j or LG G2?
Really looking forward to the full review of the G2. You’ve really helped me decide I won’t be paying the QD-OLED new tech premium as I’ve concluded my viewing needs/habits won’t benefit significantly from it. I’m kinda down to the A90J (possibly A80k) or the G2, so the upcoming G2 review and hopefully comparisons will help me make my final decision. Learned a great deal from your channel. Love it!
Longevity is a benefit one shouldn't skip.
@@absolutium Please elaborate. 👍
@@ddbyrd2001 Any "organic" panel has an inherent rate of decay directly related to its luminous efficiency..
..the application of short wavelenght Oled in tandem with Quantum dots allows the panel to get the most out of the "wear".
Picture it as a fireplace burning dense wood like Oak.
@@absolutium I understand this and is a reasonable consideration. Given LGs 10yr history making OLED panels, their future plans to more or stick with it and their panel warranty make it a solid choice in my opinion. No doubt QD OLED is the future, but that future will look even better and cheaper in 5 to 7yrs, although it’s basically based on know building blocks making it cheaper than most “new” tech. I guess this is why this is fun… so many considerations. 🙂. Thanks for taking the time to expand… no argument from my side on the QD tech advantages.
@@absolutium Samsung can claim that it’s more burn in resistant but we will have to wait and see. The S95B already has the most image retention compared to any other high end OLED due to lack of heatsink, and they are already reducing the brightness of the S95B since the 1302 update to only 1000 nits compared to 1500 nits. I don’t think burn in is completely eradicated, or else Samsung wouldn’t have lowered the brightness. Also Samsung only gives a 1-year warranty with it when LG is giving a 5-year warranty which tells you a lot. If they are so certain it won’t burn in then it should come with an adequate warranty that covers burn in like LG.
Can you hook and Xbox series x into hdmi eARC on Vizio tv if you don’t have a sound bar
Btw congrats for your weight loss looking good man
Hello, can I mount G2 using those universal wall mountings instead the one that comes with it? The reason is that I want to reach easily the back inputs. What about a comparison between G2 83" against C2 83" ?
Yes, you can, it supports standard vesa wall mounting if you want to go that route.
just bought 3 of these for my 2 4090GTX cards .. hope it blows meeeeeeeeeeeeeee outta the water!!
Dang! Party at your house, I'll bring the beer! That's an awesome setup!
Didn't really get into oleds till ps5 came out and you needed a good tv to max out the ps5 got cx back in 2020. I want to upgrade already but I want to get at least 5 yrs out of the cx
Cable management works fine if you press it on the right spot. If you don't press it in the middle it will pop up open, otherwise not.
Projecter is really problem, when you connect directly to TV, any components such as Apple 4k, Blu-ray 4k. Some time I have to re-check connections
Thanks
Can you mount it with a regular articulating wall mount? This tv looks awesome! Thanks for the info.
Yes
I picked up a 77" G2 a week after release from Value Electronics, one of the only places that have them in stock at the time. I have it wall mounted and absolutely love the TV. My previous TV was a 65" LG C9, it's a major upgrade. I have also have a PC hooked to it with an RTX 3090 for gaming and it's brilliant.

Im also coming from gaming with a 3090 with a C9 and thinking of getting the G2. The colour volume is suppose to be better on the C9 mainly because the extra peek brightness of the G2 causes it to dilute the colours. Have you found this to be the case?
@@francis147741 I actually don't find this the case. The colors absolutely pop and is so much better then my C9. The HDR is a night and day difference. I have a 2nd gaming rig is in my office. I have a 3080 connected to a Samsung Neo G9. That thing can hit 2000 nits. While the G9 is obviously brighter in HDR, the HDR is better on the G2. I can see the details better, the color seems more accurate and pops more on the G2.
Curious, how do you wall mount it flush without having the component connections as eye sores?
@@beedubvr6 you have to run those cable hider. They do a pretty good job. Looks a lot better but it'll never be perfectly clean unless you run the cables inside the wall.
I saw a $1,000 Sony for the kitchen. It was 11” I think. It was so awesome at the time.
Great job as always Caleb!
The glossy screens absolutely do add to the 'richness' and 'depth' of the picture... Simply because glossy black is darker than that satin like, anti-gloss treatment... Imparts greater contrast
As a G1 owner who uses it on a stand, I gotta say, I'm actually glad I bought it last year. The stand on the G2 looks to be a major step back. I'm glad that LG is still iterating on panel brightness years after year, but in the semi-bright room that I have my G1 in, I feel like the brightness is adequate enough in just about everything I watch. No FOMO for me.
My C1 77" notices everything connected to via AVR through eARC hdmi, which is neat imo...l
Anyone has a good stand to suggest? Because at the moment, almost november, the stand is still the same and it sucks.
First OLED I saw blew me away back in 07’ at a Sony outlet store.
Seemed kind of small at 11” though…
Is there any way for the volume to be at the same level when you turn the tv on as when you turned it off?
Had it at 1 when i shut it off and the next day it was back up to a high volume when i turned it on
That doesn't sound right, my G2 doesn't ever do that. If I'm at volume 2 when I power down, it comes back on at volume 2 when powering on. I think it might do what you're saying if you change sources though. For example, if you're playing xbox on hdmi port 2 and you have it at volume 10, then turn both the TV and xbox off, maybe when you turn the TV on it's defaulting to the volume level of whatever it was the last time you were on the Home screen. Not sure though, I haven't tested that.
