2013 Dodge Charger. How to Flush and Change Coolant. Pentastar 3.6L V6.
I created this video with the CZcams Video Editor ( / editor )
Use silicone on the petcock. I made the mistake of WD-40 and it dried out and broke the O-ring.
I like how you work and you cover a lot of things other people don't even talk about the other 50 videos that I've watched so thanks a lot Brotha.
At the beginning, if you don’t want to remove the whole thing, you can just remove the passenger side front tire, remove the 3 plastic locks on the bottom (under the box looking thingy) and then under the front bumper remove the first 2 7mm screws starting from the wheel. That will give you enough clearance to get your hand inside and turn the petcock. Saves you a lot of time and effort
Great video on being specific detail ...thank you it was definitely helpful
thank you for showing how you turned the drain. i was lost when it wasnt draining out at a quarter turn
Great video couldnt find it this anywhere else. Just wanted to add that the plug to bleed the coolant and get the air out is located at the top of the thrrmostat housing which you showed. You just use a screwdriver to loosen it and release the air and once fluid starts to pour out you can tighten it
A quick rundown, don't use chemicals not listed on components(wd on the petcock) silicone doesn't eat plastic or rubber use that, spray or paste. The way you are doing this you're dumping maybe 1/3 of the coolant in the system, so at this point you have an unknown amount of old coolant, new coolant, flush (acid), additive, and deionized (should be distilled) water. For air in the system USE THE BLEEDER. Every single drain and fill, open the bleeder after the coolant stops draining from the petcock (more will drain out), close the petcock, fill until coolant starts to run out of the bleeder close the bleeder, and top the system. To do otherwise is to risk an overheat that the ecm can not mitigate.
Thanks for your helpful vids!👍👍👍👍🙏🙏🙏🙏
At the end when you say leave the pedcick open, youre refering to taking it out? Because mine came out as well, so
Is this the same procedure with a 2009 dodge charger 3.5?
Prefect video...helpful.....
FYI that foam seal on bottom of air intake I take used that foam weather stripping from Home Depot when i added the hellcat box. It also had double sided tape on it and worked well.
How were you able to release that extra air once the actual coolant was in, you said the towl over the resivior cap method and squeezing the hoses but was there any way to release that air from the petcock like you were doing with the water?
Hey, i have a 2013 charger v6 and the reservoir wont stay full. there is no leakage on the groud. any ideal what it could be? when i purchases it it came with the yellow coolant. are we support to be using the mopar purple kind? thanks
Question just changed the stat (203) and new cap but it's still running hot fan kicks on around 230. Heat blows out fire. My top hose is get really hot and bottom kinda cold. I can grab it and hold it replaced radiator about a yr ago or less. Is a flush needed or could it be something else?
I tried to do this and my car started overheating? I've been having a check engine light with some instances of AC power lost
Sweet car man. I had one, but traded it in for a cummins. I sure miss it though.
Did you have the heater on the vents or the dashboard for the defroster
So my 2012 Charger with the same engine. The heater is hot for about 2 min when I first turn it on, then goes cold. Would this fix the problem?
I did more research and watched some videos about that funnel, would I be able to just add the coolant and then let the car run and let the air bubbles escape because the system is not pressurized and then once it stops bubbling cap it? would thay work or would the over flow be over flown?
