- The Alto family may have been forgotten and left behind in The Sims 4, but in The Sims 3 the Alto family played a big part in the lore of the town of Sunset Valley!
On occasion I like to make little videos that are focused on one particular sim or family in the sims franchise and I thought today we would take a look at the Alto family.
The Alto family may not be as well known as the Goth family or the Landgrabbs, but that’s mainly because they aren’t featured in as many installments of the sims games. They are first introduced in The Sims 3 and their name crops up quite a lot of times throughout the sims 3.
Our first nugget of information on the Alto’s comes from the basegame town of Sunset Valley, the family members are married couple Nick and Vita and their daughter holly.
The alto’s are one of the wealthiest families in the neighbourhood, along with the goth’s and the Landgraabs. You can probably tell that their wealthy based on their appearance alone, Vita wears a glamorous fur coat and Nick wears a fancy suit. It’s implied that the Alto’s have fairly recently acquired their wealth by the time they move to Sunset Valley from the big city.
They have a rivalry with the Landgraab family as a result of a Business feud. Nick and Vita are actually enemies with Geoffrey and Nancy Landgrabb.

In the Sims 4, there are two luxury apartment buildings in San Myshuno’s Uptown district: Landgraab Apartments and Alto Apartments. The rivalry lives on!
Yeah. I noticed that. I always wondered what that meant, and when I read the history of The Landgraab and Alto rivalry, I really understood the rivalry.
Whenever I played with the alto family in the sims 3 i always made the kids go and hang out in the yard infront of their house and it was like a lion king moment where the parents came out and fought. Good times.
These Sims history videos are fascinating. Most of my Sims play I do on Origin. I did buy the Sims3 on Steam but I don't play it much. Your videos however make me want to go back and see what's there. Other than that, I've only played a bit with the original Sims game. Thanks again for all the research that goes into these videos.
I’ve actually been playing the altos this week since I was able to get the sims 3 to run on my computer. I gave holly a bad girl makeover and had her act out to get her parent attention
I havent played anything besides the sims4 so I love these little history lessons and learning about the history of the game
I never really dug into all the townies history when I played all the sims games. I honestly spent my time building more than playing. Since watching CZcams I have learned so much about them now and I can’t believe I missed all that.
Neither have I. When I play The Sims, I usually don't dig around for Sims lore because I usually play my own families. But now that I'm listening to the stories of these famous sim families, I'm intrigued.

First time I played Sims 3, I had Morgana Wolff start and affair with Nick Alto because Thornton wouldn't have a baby with her and figured the two look similar enough that Morgana could pass the kid off as her husband's...

@@ava13 Not really, I was just trying to make the story of Sunset Valley (which is a bit bare bones) my own. In my head Vita knew about the affair and wasn't bothered because she didn't love her husband and had only married him for money. I moved Holly out as a teen to live with some friends and she ended up marrying River McIrish and living with their friend Bebe Hart until she went on to marry Christopher Steel and be step-mum to the three kids he had with his deceased wives Tamara Donner and Ayesha Ansari and the Altos went on to have another kid who was basically a carbon copy of his dad in terms of personality.
The kid Nick and Morgana had was a little girl called Grace and she ended up marrying Sam Sekemoto (he was still a toddler when she was born so not that much older then her, he was a senior when she was in her second year of high school, at least in my head). They had 1 kid, a little boy who went on to reach the top of the politics career and marry the daughter of Malcolm Landgraab and Bella Bachelor (I didn't know Bella was meant to marry Mortimer.. I played 3 before 2)
My little fan theory is that Bob and Betty Sim turned into Bob and Eliza Pancakes.
I had the thought one day and I liked it.

I couldn't stand the sims 3. Its like we took the biggest step backwards in quality. Couldnt make an attractive sim to save my life. There is only 1 thing I liked about the sims 3 and that was the open cities/ no loading screens when moving to diff. Lots
