- Remember when The Alto and Landgraab rivalry was a considerably big part of the lore in The Sims 3? Whatever happened to the Alto family? Why didn’t they make it into the sims 4 ? well today they will be!
In this video I’ll be making the Landgraab family more in line with their sims 3 selves and introducing the Alto family, just to stir up some family drama!

Malcolm in TS3 was a chubby kid who adored his Dad, and wanted to be a doctor…so in an alternate timeline, Holly & him being a couple makes sense. 🤷🏻♀️
Okay, about the careers, think about it. In life, if you're a senior partner at a law firm, then decide to go off and become a chef, no restaurant is gonna give a crap how good of a lawyer you were.
In that case yeah, but say you were a journalist then went on to become a lawyer, while not the same field there would be transferrable skills. I think is depends on which career you start at and which you move too... but of course that would be tricky to programme because how do you determine which jobs are linked and how much of a step up that link would give you.
Honestly if I've got a sim I know is probably gunna either swap careers at some point or go into a career they've got relatives in, I tend to give then the connections aspiration reward, that way they get the leg up I feel they'd get but it isn't applied to all sims so I keep a decent mix of achieved career levels since I don't like it when everyone ends up at level 10, simply because that's not realistic.
Not really, journalists don't study law or learn how to, like, write briefs in legalese or follow trial rules and so forth. Just knowing *how* to write doesn't mean that you know *what* to write when the rules totally change.
And especially in Geoffrey's case above, he went from being a police officer to a doctor. I absolutely do NOT want a doctor who got there because someone said, "Oh, a detective, were you? All right... straight into the operating room with you, Dr. Surgeon sir, I'm sure it's fine..."

I think maybe a good balance could be based on skills? Like say the lawyer has two cooking skills. Assuming that the level 1 career promotion requirement is level 2 cooking, they should be able to start at level 2. Because imagine the lawyer has always cooked as a side hobby and are at level 10 cooking skill. Realistically it makes no sense to pay such a talented chef the same as you would a dishwasher, even if they don’t have any official experience as a chef.
@@xViolet_Sunshinex Yeah that's be a good way to determine it, because it would actually add value to giving sims a hobby outside of building the skills they need for promotion.
Maybe have Malcolm and Holly woo-hoo! Maybe a forbidden baby will come lol. I like the laandgrabbs but I really liked Holly Alto!

That's cool. (^‿^) I unwittingly blessed Geoffrey and Nancy with 5 more children, a boy and 4 girls, all in the child life state. XD But they're all sweet kids, unlike Malcolm. Their second son and oldest daughter are especially gifted. And their youngest child/daughter is the biggest sweetheart! ❤️

i've rekindled the feud in one of my save files, i made Holly marry Johnny Zest lol. So Johnny became successful since Holly's rich af and i just kept playing with them, now i'm on the 6th generation bc i'm addicted

I feel that way too about starting from scratch every career. I mean if you really wanted to you could cheat them a realated degree and pretend its bc of the work experience but its not the same
I added the altos to one of my saves but have holly alto as a young adult who has a toddler with johnny zest and had that be part of the reason the landgraabs disowned johnny (I fixed the family tree for the landgraabs and johnny)malcolm is dating cassandra goth in secret as well..

I’m not sure if you’re aware, Holly Alto actually exists in Sims 4, as a pre-existing Sim but isn’t in any world. I think she appeared with either City Living or Get Famous, I forgot. You’ll see her around public venues at times, but the Sims team did her dirrrrrty. Short curly black hair, hideous outfits and disproportionate body 😫
Late but that Holly Alto is not the same character.
They could have given us the Altos instead of the Spencer Kim Lewis nonsense

Ha! I’m doing this too, Nick and Vita live right across the street from the Landgraabs. I made their daughter Holly a lawyer (I figured they’d need one lol) with a husband and family in Brindleton Bay

My favourite family from The Sims 3 has to be A Mixture of Good and Bad in Bridgeport.
I also had the Altos in one of my saves. I changed Malcolm's age though and forgot to change Nancy and Geoffrey's jobs. I also downloaded Bebe Hart (Holly's friend) to the save as well.
FakeGamerGirl remade the Alto mansion in the sims 4, its very good!

Because my intro to the Landgraabs was thru bustin’ out on ps2, I played thru the Landgraabs in s3. I made Malcolm have twins with a random, connecting Mimi and Dudley to the story. Also have Mom and Fran involved lol it’s crazy. 🤪😂
That's pretty cool that you recreated the rivalry between The Landgraabs and The Altos! I actually remade The Landgraabs too. I especially gave Nancy an elegant makeover along with her husband Geoffrey who is involved in charity work now. She's a beautiful and glamorous housewife now. she still shows signs of aging, but is aging gracefully. I also gave Nancy the same trait as Geoffrey, family-oriented. Malcolm's still a mean and selfish sim but his parents are trying to fix him and get him to be a good man. And I blessed Geoffrey and Nancy with 5 more children, a boy and 4 girls, all in the child life state. XD Their names are Annie, Amy, Henry, Sophia and Lucy. They're all very sweet kids, unlike Malcolm. Their second son Henry and oldest daughter Sophia are especially gifted. And their youngest child/daughter Lucy is the biggest sweetheart! ❤️

Great video! I'm kinda hoping EA will do better with the next Sims game and bring back elements like this. I miss when the Sims already had their own stories and drama you could expand on.
But question what overlay are you using for Nancy's face?! I love it and would like to add it to my game.

If you get the UI cheats mod by weerbesu (might have spelt his name wrong) you could change her job level with 1 click, just mentioning in case you're unaware of the mod. It does so much, it's a staple for me!
I love that UI Cheats! It has the sliders so I can cheat everything! Unfortunately it broke my game after Growing together came out. Have you tried the new UI update that goes with milestones? If so, is it working for you?

My take on this in the sims 3 was that holly was actually Nancy’s or Geoffrey’s kid cause she is blonde but none of her parents are. So I truly believed that one of them cheated with one of the alto and that they gave the baby to them and that’s actually the real reason of the feud. Might not be, but I really enjoy playing it that way
I always used to age up Malcolm and make Malcolm and Holly marry in TS3

The landgraabs in my game had like 5 more kids after malcolm and two were African American.

Geoffrey actually has a lot of charities that help children(I'm pretty sure he works as a charity organizer in my game)and I actually gave Nancy the same trait as her husband, the family-oriented trait. ❤️

Yep. Nancy didn't show a pregnant belly, but I did see her feeling a little more tired than usual. I didn't really like Nick Alto to begin with, but I was livid with him when I realized Nancy was pregnant! How dare he insult and yell at a pregnant woman?! 😡
I think Nancy's a bit more "haggered" because she has a grown son she's disowned (Johnny)
I honestly thought that he was a distant relative to Geoffrey and Nancy Landgraab, probably because they don't have any familial relationships. I guess I was wrong. 😅
