Welcome back! My condolences for you, regarding your laptop. I do wish they had given The Sims 3 Alto family (via Sunset Valley) a son too, true to Sopranos form, haha. I like that the estranged brother, in Hidden Springs, is similar to Tony Soprano's estranged sister. #fanservice

Nick should have been in the crime career
Holly's favourite colour being green is such a cool detail when you take into account her parents both have red as their favourite color since red and green are complementary colors (meaning opposites on the colour wheel) and Holly's personally is opposite to her parents.
That, and Red is portrayed as the color of evil whereas green is the color of good.
It’s painful remembering the amount of detail and information in previous sims games and comparing it to the bare sims 4 we have today 😢
@@jeffwoods5600 plus the emotions a color can give you, especially in your house. For example, a green bedroom would be better than a red oke cause green is more calming and not as agressive as red if that makes sense. While red can mske you feel uneasy.

Nah, I personally think Holly does look like her parents facially. She just has lighter hair, which is entirely possible in real life and game play. Really don't think she is adopted.
Agreed. Some people just don't turn out looking or acting like their parents at all. (Especially since the Altos are so based on aesthetics, we don't have a clear image of how they look without the excessive outfits and makeup.)

@@still_your_zelda true. It baffles me how people are surprised when two dark haired people with brown eyes can have blonde haired blue eyed babies. It is basic biology and happens the whole time due to recessive traits.

I use a story progression mod in The Sims 3. Nick and Vita always end up enemies.
But in my most recent save they had like 4 babies back to back, and i held one while my sim was attending a party at their mansion. The party ended and my sim was automatically told to leave and locked outside with the baby! But it was winter and it would freeze to death...so I 'kidnapped' it by adding it to my family. My sim was supposed to be very rebellious but also very family orientated, so my headcanon is that the baby was neglected and she impulsively acted on it.
That’s such a cool story, what!? I love it when random, seemingly little things happen like that that change everything in Sims. It’s adds so much to the game.
babies can't freeze to death. in a played family the baby would get taken away but i dont think its possible in another family. i think the baby would be just fine, their needs kinda dont work properly when theyre non played. one time my sims naighbor had like 4 babies and there wasnt any stuff for them in her hime so she just left a couple of the babies outside and never really interacted with them. the babies would just sit outside all day crying about being hungry and stinky and lonely but nobody came and i couldnt help them myself because me and their mother werent friends. and guess what, they grew up just fine lol

I modified the facial and clothing of GF Holly Alto into the Sims 3 version but i keep her celebrity status, no big deal

7:00 Boom!!! That destroys my theory but here it goes:
Cornelia and Vita are Italian. There are not more Italian Sims. Bella 's mother is supposed to be Greek. It can be the only reason to get along. Or probably you are right, but there's a moment in the game when everything changes: if you are playing with the Goth's, Gunther will be offered the opportunity to be the mayor. Then, you have to work very hard on his Charisma and raise his campaign funds. Nancy donates the most, so that means she is interested in his political party. Then Gunther competes against Vita to become President breaking their friendship. As the description of Sunset Valley suggests Goth's are allies of Nancy to beat Alto's and their ambition of owning Sunset Valley. Gunther will be elected as President beating Vita's political evil influence and Nancy will become CEO beating Nick's influence over the businesses of the city. Consequently, Alto's won't exist 50 years later when Sims 2 takes place.
I love this theory... But they also wouldn’t exist cause if the story progression is on, Holly marries a townie (in my experience it’s always Parker Langerak or Ethan Bunch) and she takes their last name, making her future children Altos just by genetics.
@@Volpe001 In my experience, Holly always ends up with a NPC girlfriend or single until elderly. The second option was the most likely. Never a man. Meanwhile, Mortimer always ended up engaged to Kaylynn and Bella single in honour to her surname.

@@Volpe001 Haha, I remember I hated Bella when my Sim was trying to seduce his father (he is almost impossible to seduce 😂) and she interrupted the romantic conversations constantly. I make her seduce Gobias and move with him until Mortimer becomes Kaylynn girlfriend. Then, my Sim broke up with Gobias to be Gunther's lover and moved with him (he is the only Sim able to ask to move with him if the relationship is strong enough) so I could control Mortimer to marry Kaylynn and invite loner Bella to the wedding. 😂
@@Volpe001 Unless Vita and Nick have a baby, their surname will disappear from Sunset Valley but not necessarily from other cities. That's true. I haven't thought of that.
When i started playing the Sims 3 Holly Alto was always my sim's best friend
When you play with a different family and Holly grows up there's a high chance she ends up single or engaged with other woman, usually a popular singer (with the expansion Walk to fame). I imagine Holly donating all her inheritance and adopting children.
i usually get her and bebe hart together since they're already best friends

When I played with the Alto's family I got Holly with Agnes because Agnes deserved a good person who loved her by her personality and not her money. I wanted a grown Malcolm to be Agnes's boyfriend but he was too young.
@A Stand User Impossible. This game didn't even exist when Sims 3 was released. Probably, Nicky was based on him. They have the same name.
I normally get Holly engaged to Malcolm Landgraab. I've always viewed the Alto's, Landgraabs and Goths as 'dynasties'. The Alto's are a new dynasty on the block and enemies with the landgraabs. I normally have them intermarry in a weird dynastic power move to make a truce and combine their wealth, power and prestige.
@@jamiemohan2049 Once time, I got Malcolm married to Bella to make her ambitious father happy. Moreover both have the good trait, so I thought they were very compatible. Mortimer doesn't have this trait.
I feel like Alfonso, Nick and Berth could be three brothers: Alfonso being the youngest one, Nick the middle one and Berth the oldest.
I didn't know there was a Holly in Sims 4, strangely she looks more like she could be Nick and Vita's daughter than the real Holly
@K C it's sad how the Sims 4 barely has any lore. I only played with 3 before, but i loved how there were stories behind everything.
Yeah the sims 4 included the Sunset Valley Malcolm Landgraab, yet completely changed his personality. They made him evil even though he was good in the sims 3. The sims 4 also included Dina and Nina Caliente, yet have them a different mother. They could have at least tried to have some continuity...

I took Holly from the Sims 4 and gave her a makeover to look/act like Holly from the Sims 3 and got her with Malcolm Landgraab. :)
Sims 3 Holly Alto will forever hold a special place in my heart because she was my son’s first ever gf (we became highschool sweethearts and got married) in my generations run 😭🥰 they grew old and had 3 children and they were all so beautiful I remember taking my baby out for a stroll when she was preggo in the park it was so wholesome and when my sim became old we’d play with the grandchildren every summer in the sprinklers it was so cute
Alto is the short version of Contralto, both soprano and contralto are two types of female voices you can find in opera, soprano being the higher and contralto the lower, i think it's cool that they added that reference!
I think Nick is pretty similar to the Godfather.

-Bridgeport is supposed to be Atlantic City / Las Vegas esque I think and their are mob affiliations with those cities
I rarely ever play with premade families in the Sims 3 so watching these videos are refreshing. I might have to turn story progression off and make my way through the town.

In my first save, I remember wanting the Altos' house but I didn't know how to kick them out because I was 12. Whenever I saw them around town, I used testingcheats too age them up so that they'd all die of old age and my sims could nab the housee

i love messing with them in sims 3, like vita was my sim's boss and nick was his best friend, so naturally i flirted with her to get a promotion and she got pregnant. they broke up and moved, i got my promotion and when she got the child ̶i̶ ̶k̶i̶l̶l̶e̶d̶ ̶h̶e̶r̶ she died mysteriously and now my sim is living in her house with his new husband

The traits in the Sims 3 are amazing. You can create such different, interesting sims!
I know this is a really small detail but Holly's favourite colour (green) is on the opposite side of the colour circle from red. Thought that was a cool little detail

I don't really mind the sims 4's style, but I do dislike them changing their own canon and then selling it off as an AU.
Like many others, I've made my own save-file in which it's aloooot more accurate with the lore, with gravestones, family relations, and so on. I love my Altos, they are perfect. They have a beautiful red and golden mansion in willow creek which is opposite to the landgraabs which I moved there from the desert, it makes me so happy to play in that save-file.
Before anyone asks: No, my save file can not be downloaded anywhere since it's completely private, though I I played with the idea of uploading it with fixes whenever new worlds come out.
On top of that, it's not really complete as I don't own all of the packs so I'm missing 2 worlds, The one that came with Eco-Lifestyle and the one from Jungle Adventure.
To be fair, Nick never had the makings of a varsity athlete
One of the main tensions in The Sopranos is that Tony wants to keep his children uncorrupted despite the fact that he genuinely does not care how many people he hurts and how horribly. Meadow Soprano's character arc is really centered on her coming to terms with how her family puts food on the table and although it could be argued that Meadow continues to benefit from her father's evil throughout the series, she at least makes an attempt to optically distance herself from her father and his violence, his racism, etc. I think Holly is a clear nod to Meadow.
I had no idea where TS4 fit into the timeline, since I pretty much ignore the game hahahaha. Is it cannon that is another universe? What an odd choice..
It’s canonically an alternate timeline from the other games
@K C it has been stated by the sims team that it is another time line. That's why they said it was canon, because it was officially confirmed.
@K C Sis, they meant that Sims 4 being in an alternate universe is canon, not that it ties into the timeline of the other games.

The first two families to be deleted immediately as I demolish the entire hill and stick my own Sim family right on top and built my own castle on it.
The Sims 4 could never with this amount of lore...
I remember when I played the Alto or the Landgrabb family in the Sims 3, I would usually have the Alto's daughter, or the Landgrabb's son, marry each other. Or I would make the two parents in the Alto family have another baby, and then I would kill parents afterwards. So that Holly can care for her brother or sister.
Edit: I did the same with Malcolm Landgrabb.

This is fascinating! Just found your channel today and insta subbed. This is a big reason why I've stopped playing TS4 and gone back to 2 and 3 lol. Stories and meaningful sims and gameplay. Sigh. I actually never played the premades much I always preferred to make my own stuff so I'm sad to admit I had no idea about all the intermingling stories and how far the Alto family stretches! Thank you for these videos it is scratching the nostalgia itch perfectly!

When Holly becomes an elder in my game she always gets a mink coat too 😂 She is married to Christopher Steel in my game but didn't take his name because her parents said she had to keep the Alto name alive or be cut out of the family inheritance!

I said it once and I’ll say it again. Altos are quite shady and evil. I believe that Nick and Bert planned to perform a prank on Nancy to impress Vita who loathes Nancy. The prank didn’t work as planned and Queenie, Nancy’s Mother, died in a fire. So Nick accused Bert of that accident and he ran. I like creating sims conspiracies in my mind😂😂😂😂😂

The Sopranos, like the Altos, have a daughter (Meadow Soprano) who is less evil and corrupt, than her parents. One big difference is that the Sopranos also have an unscrupulous son, where as Holly is an only child. #SimRefs
I remember that each time I played in Sunset Valley Altos would move out of their mansion eventually and settle down in a pretty ordinary house, sure it was also a two-storey house but it's nothing compared to their luxurious mansion. They would all stay together (even Holly) so that's a very interesting point.
Sims 4 Holly Alto kinda look like Vijay Alvi. My bet is that Holly married him (he has the evil trait, she's good, but he matches her parents), and had Holly Alto II. If you compare her age to Dustin and Dirk, (and, of course, ignore the alternate universe bullcrap) she could be Holly Alto I's daughter.
I recreated them in the sims 4 and had a dramatic storyline going ( always gotta have those ) and holly is currently in uni to be a lawyer and has a younger brother who follows in their parents footsteps!
TS3 sims house depends on who are those living there, the details are just...beautiful!

The Sims 3 is, in a timeline perspective, before The Sims 2. There is no mention of the Altos in The Sims 2 so, why they disappeared? I always theorized it maybe had something to do with Nancy Landgraab getting her CEO job over Nick, and him killing her in revenge, making him (and the entre family) to go under police investigation.
If the police investigated the Altos, wouldn't you think they would find something else? Perhaps they found that Vita was corrupt and they took all the money out of the family, and that's why there isn't any mention of them in The Sims 2. Or.. Perhaps Geoffrey Landgraab killed the family as a revenge for his wife's death? Some Romeo and Juliet vibes...
What are your thoughts?
They have descendants in The Sims 3: Into the Future so I don't think the family perished before Sims 2 and Sims 1.

I just found your channel and I love it one of the big things that stood out to me that I want to answer was why are they so close with the Goths and I thought about this a lot in my own gameplay. Well from this perspective, if you are new money and you want to be the biggest and baddest family in town and literally control every enterprise, why not have the support of one of the oldest families that can back you up you see in the goths bio that it says their ancestors were one of the first to settle down in town. and their a long lasting family.. if you have their support, you can pretty much get everybody else on board. I know that’s a really big deep dive and possibility but it does make sense.

Berth could be a reference to Saul (from Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul - two of the best shows ever) except he isn't a lawyer but an accountant. But the story sounds very similar. There is also a banner ad in Bridgeport that looks exactly like Saul's in the show and it's one of the easter eggs in TS3. Banner in Bridgeport could be ad for Berth's previous services as an accountant

As soon as they fix Family Trees in the Sims 4, I will make Griffin the accidental son of Holly and Johnny Zest (but made with love). And Alfonso will be Don's and Holly's child, the official heir of the family. As it seemed Vita and Nick showed special preference for one grandchild over the other...
Holly somehow turning out better than her parents is also reminiscent of Meadow from the Sopranos(although her morality is a bit debated among fans)
Might be a bit of a stretch, but Meadow and Holly are also both nature-inspired names.

My laptop crashed in July 2021, I haven't played the sims since 😭
I couldn't afford a new pc until this coming March. Going for a desktop now, one too many laptops have crashed on me.

I Love the Alto's they should have been in Sims4, made my own and always have them in there.
My sims are super rich and kicked out and bought the alto villa and now when I have parties and invite them they always come and mock me lol it's hilarious

OMG bella Goth in the sims 2 is the clone of the bella Goth in the sims 4. those aliens swapped bellas! the only question is how and why? i think everybody is ignoring the fact that just because the sims 4 takes place in an alternate universe, that there's still lore and a connection to the goth/Lothario story. i need answers!!! 😭😭😭
Bella goth in the sims 3 can't be the clone because the sims 3 is a prequel that takes place before the sims 2 before Bella goes missing

I wonder if they both have game of thorns maybe it’s even related to game of thrones.. like nick is the mad king, holly is like Daenerys and is good, and the landgraabs are like the Lannister’s, they have blonde hair and are rich, and at the start of the series the lannisters and the targeryans had a fued over the throne in a similar way to the sims over money.. probably not but just a thought
