I just recently got back into playing the Sims 2 and I cannot imagine how long it must take you to play all the households after 8 years! It makes me really happy that Alexander has been around so long to be so involved with his grandkids. I would love to see the Lotharios and the Brokes - since there are so many of them it would be an interesting family tree to talk about.

8 years is so impressive! Was interesting to see how the neighbourhood has grown and evolved and to learn about some of your gameplay rules. I’d really like to see some other households, Brokes, Calientes, Lotharios, Pleasants! I’m not sure if it would affect the relationships you’ve got going on but do you have the ‘Extended Family Treated as Family’ mod?
Thank you so much ❤ I think the Brokes are my favourite and have the most sprawling family tree - and I don't have that mod, I should look into it. That would probably have prevented a couple of the more European royal family style romantic crossovers 😅
That’s exactly how I always liked to play each of the Sims games! Used notebooks, excel sheets and then my phone notes to keep track of the ages to keep it evenly. To avoid crossing families too much I always used NPC or made special sims to introduce into the family when the time comes.
Damn, playing a neighbourhood for nearly a decade is dedication, good on you 😊

I also do class systems in my rotational game in the Sims 3. I only allow "nobles" to marry other nobles (it's in Midnight Hollow so the Victorian aesthetic goes well with the idea of gentry and nobles) and they have to be full owners of at least one piece of real estate and live in mansions. The only marriage exception is if the sim has the rebellious trait, in which case I let them marry anyone they want. I also got a mod to lower wages and I increased university tuition. I manually make it so that the number of credits a sim completes in uni (which is a building in town thanks to mods) correlates to the maximum career level they can reach. I also manually add high prices to afterschool activities, so kids with money are more likely to get free credits in uni from the skills they learned in elementary and high school. My boyfriend calls me evil...and though I definitely don't think people should be so restricted in real life, it makes playing the sims much more interesting. The downside is, I only have 5 noble families out of 14-15 in total, and everyone is gonna be related soon. Not sure how I'm gonna sort that out.
Not familiar to the sims 3, maybe you could have a couple new families “move in”
How does the Sims 3 handle distant relationship like 2nd cousins or cousin twice removed that kind of thing? Coz honestly, if you're going for the whole nobility thing, if the game allows it, having them "keep it in the family" would be pretty real world accurate. If not, you could maybe promote some of the more wealthy non-nobles to something like "new money nobles" so they can marry the original ones.
I almost had a heart attack when you said you broke up the Tinkers! Haha they are the one family I feel attached to. I played them extensively for a reason unknown to me. Does anyone else have a sim family they love more than the others?

It is so cool how you have organized everything and the game is so ordered. I am just starting to play the sims 2 again after downloading the ultimate collection online and playing the original game years ago when it first came out.

I absolutely adore Sims 2 and have played it for years! I missed out the free copy cause I used to play it with the disks. Unfortunately my base game disc is broken and I have been playing Sims 4 for a few years now. But Sims 2 will always be something special. Lovely to see all your big family trees! ❤

I’ve been playing my custom neighborhood since the lockdown and I recently said goodbye to the last remaining sim from generation 2. Not only did I lose a sim who had been in my game for almost 3 real-life years, but his death marked the end of an era, as I have now played an entire generation from birth to death.
I love rules for social life, finances and education.
I did enjoy, thank you. You've got a new sub! It's very impressive. I've only done 4 families rotationally and it was already too much for me.

(2) in "Slicex" you could create New Drum Loops and softs in any order from different slices. And keep the loop slices playing in and

Do you have a video on your full rotational play rules? I've always struggled with a stricter setup a la Pleasant Sims, so I wonder if your slightly more casual way might work for me.
I'm planning a video on setting up for a new round (spoiler: there are no spreadsheets) as I've just finished playing Spring. It's pretty chill, I just pick the house whose story I'm most interested in playing that day and play for a bit. Often I play for like one day with that house then leave to play another. I don't have a set rotation, and my rules are more broad. I couldn't play super strict, I need to be able to relax when I play... I just have my rules for who can marry (that I have broken), when kids go to uni, retiring my elders right away, and following wants but only as far as it's fun for me to do that 😂

What mod allows you sim to keep their retirement when getting a part time job ?
I use the Days Left Shrub to know when elders will die because I can’t stand the suspense.
That's a good idea, I do get quite tense around them dying, but with the state of my population I might need to embrace it soon and let them go to make room for all the babies 😅

Ooh, yes, I managed to miss the massive mod staring me in my face! It's called the Clean UI, it's a bit more involved to install than most mods, but I wouldn't go back now

Wow 8 years is seriously impressive I actually back up my neighborhood that's quite a regularly I try to at least once a month or it's twice a month especially the ones I'm currently playing or there is a high chance of correction because I'm still
learning how to make all this work and I only have like two expansion packs and none of the currently speaking stuff packs so I'm working with very bare Bones I only have nightlife and free times I was trying
to get a few other expansion packs the very least but not greats luck came around due to pandemic era it's like I like to call it so money is more tight than usual but not the point just one of the reasons why I
don't have the expansion packs or at least not so many stuff but I regularly back them up many times in safe back up folder in in case corruption or I just get tired of this current playthrough and I want
something very different I also have a custom hoods that I am very much want to keep in there I do have hood check or I'm still learning how to use it inside the case anyone's wondering why I I do this I like
documenting and I know weird way where I can physically go into the game and play three different scenarios especially where certain places can go to different branches I'll even personally label each one file save
file backup as a series of different things I am very weird that way but one of my goals is to literally do a hundred years I love the idea of the original generations no longer around and only half is the leftover generations and maybe some of the
youngest kids like broke kids and the Goths clearly I have never gone beyond oh godness the most furthest point is on Alexander and Lucy having kids not
because I don't like the idea of continuing it's just like I said I was learning how to work with all this and I just get really mad when something goes wrong like
corruption or mods are conflicting in such a way that I cannot just not fix it when I'm trying to work with the game and stuff the game hacks that I am really looking forward to get to really expand the
horizons is too bon voyage open for business seasons and apparently I'm definitely super interested in getting University and what was it and pets but the ones that I just I don't know why I just get

families in apartment life so many families play I'm one of those people who loves big neighborhoods I actually will completely create new sub hoods just so I can expand the generations and figure out maybe
they're pioneering areas and their current living area for expanding on so it makes their world much more bigger quite literally I also like the idea of putting a downtown where since I don't have apartment life yet currently speaking of this comment I can
at least say is that how I deal with the the population in the county population the sounds so weird and honestly my playable families but I have considered this but I mostly won't do it is make some of my
playable expanded over its playable limit well it's playable but hard to handle families where I could turn one of them into a Townnies for at least one round see what they do on their own and let them come back it's not the worst idea when I
think about it again but I most likely won't do it I love seeing their progression personally but I might do it with the one or two especially with a Sim that I can't handle or they need their own time out if they're really hard to handle no seems like a little don't count in the regard I don't
know what that would count but I'm saying a lot here what I do I personally will make personal customize and randomize sometimes counties and criticism give try to give them a very basic background or
not like I said usually I let them just go into The ether by turning them to a Townnies and when I need extra Sims where I want to play one I'll invite them in and let them live in a current residence if they're close
friends with someone like their roommates married in or I decided that that I need an extra new person in this expansion of the town or they have skill sets for the
expanding new town addition or sub-hood however I want to put it in or I let them kind of be a playable character by give him a custom job not like customized actual
like modern job maybe or something I don't know I give a lot of thought into it but I don't want to try to overdo it I just try to keep it anyway where let's say it feels
weird that we have a bunch of cops but we have no one in the actual town as a cop or City also I imagine the custom townies or just the regular townies as living in the
apartments and say decorative Hood buildings or something like saying downtown like I said or just what comes with the game by usually let the Tony's have their own personal whatever they
come up with they keep when they get become a playable Sim unless it just doesn't make sense and it just kind of gets weird for them I don't know I deal with the population that way it keeps things fresh it allows you to have a feeling of still using
create a Sim once in awhile and cas and it allows new fresh blood into the town but Townnis will not also just be completely randomized and appearance or the
occasional accidental broken CC content outfit or whatever it is combination possible I'm not against them I just find this house to make it more aesthetically pleasing and does not break the the type
of nature the vibe of the town or city or you still get a customized random Sim being generated it happens
Also if this looks random and kind of messy this is just what happens sometimes when my spell check it will turn townies into Tony's and my grammar is not the best and if it looks unreadable I'm sorry I forget to use punctuation sometimes my bad
After seeing what happened to my Burb family... I'm both curious and scared about what happed to them after 100 years in your save. Were you luckier then me or did you have a tragedy as well.
My Burbs were okay! They’ve had some drama but no tragedy (yet lot) - what happened to your Burbs??
@@Katie_Catastrophe So John got really into fitness and he rolled a want to go jogging... now me being an idiot, didn't look at his tempreture before I sent him jogging in summer... he died of heatstroke...
Thing is, he and Jen had just tried for a baby the previous night so her husband has just died and like two in games hours later Jen gets a baby bump...

(edit) I am probably going to restart my Pleasantview coz it's been forever since I last played it, I'll change some story lines I didn't end up liking and keep ones I did, so fingers crossed this time he lives

where did you get all those skins and how did you get them into the game code?
I use default replacement skins, no coding needed! You just drop the ones you want into your download folder and it adds them to the game. I don’t know the name offhand but I will check my folder (I downloaded them 8 years ago 😅) and let you know. I like them, it have a freckled version that babies get randomly 🥹
