Huge congrats to Bobby for his 2 cent piece! Nice stuff and awesome seated quarter. The token is for peeling a bucket of tomatoes. I worked at a canning factory one summer and actually did the credit (we punched their ticket in those days. They would peel a bucket of tomatoes which would go on a conveyor belt to be dumped in a hopper and used to fill cans of tomatoes.).

True story: Yesterday I came home from work, settled in, sat down and tuned in to the Hoover Boys channel expecting this week's installment of amazing adventures and history saved only to see the latest THB video was uploaded 6 days ago. I thought to myself, "What???! No Hoover Boys this week????!!! WTF????!!!" And then I realized it was only Tuesday. I hate when that happens. lol

Congrats to Bobby for filling a bucket list item. Great video. The red cross token is "Filling 1 Bucket", by one pint at a time. I guess it means to fill a 5 gallon bucket. So that's a lot of donations. I was a 10 gallon donator then the trip to Germany ruined my donations.

I think Bobby's Red Cross Peeling 1 Bucket token is a picker's token used to count the crop picked by the pickers. Each picker would bring the harvest to the field manager who would issue a token. Token’s would later be brought to the cashier and redeemed for money.

Upon quick inspection of two center or duecer that coin was barely circulated when lost.
One sign of wear is the lines on the shield. Most are there hardly worn. Hard to find any in collections that nice and to find one in a field below ground out of sight and buried is amazing.
My father surface found an 1866 shield nickel with rays
50 years ago all lines on shield. Like new when lost. You totally reminded me of that day. Good one !

That Peeling 1 Bucket thing -- Canneries in the early part of the 1900s used to issue tokens for peeling tomatoes or other vegetables that workers could spend at local stores or exchange for currency. Could be that.

I have a spot somewhere in SC. It's a friends yard and farm field. There was a Confederate camp on it and its a few hundred yards next to a battlefield. I have pulled 2 1859 IHP, many musket balls, 3 ringers, piece of SC militia belt buckle, 1858 seated half dime, 1782 1 reale , NC star flat button, a Virginia Voltiguer button, a small english livery button and some other little stuff in just 5 visits. I might be getting permission on 2,200 acres across the street very soon.. or at least a portion of it I hope. It would be awesome if we could plan a hunt sometime and have you guys come down for a few days. I have permission on 300+ acres in GA too where part of Shermans army marched through and has been around since Colonial times. Maybe come after mid January after hunting season and the fields are plowed and escape Northern winter weather.

Found my first 2 center this year. Found out the 1864 was 1st coin to have in God We trust on it. Congrats Bobby. I’ve been teased by a buddy about not finding a V nickel. Found 2 in one hunt this year. Funny thing is I found a shield b4the V all in 2019

Congrats on the finds, I found a 1961 rosie in my cash register tonight, a 1944 D wheat penny and I also found a canadian nickle from 2000. My finds were not as good as yours! Keep up the great videos guys I love seeing what you pull out of the ground and I look forward to seeing a big hunk of gold coming up for one of you guys!
