- I purchased this Shimano V2 chainring from a company called Unite co. They are based in the Uk and are known for their cnc machining. They make pedals, chainrings, stems, handle bars, seat clamps, and accessories. Unite's chainrings are CNC machined in house from 7075 T6 aluminium billet, one of the hardest grades of aluminium available. Couple this with the high quality, vibrant anodised finish.

Risk shimano chainring tool - a.co/d/cNd1Kax - Sport
I bought that exact tool from Risk. Works great
Yea they are not too bad, the bikes are too expensive to be buying fancy tools😂
Perfect video since I'm building my bike frome the frame up with purple components and I'm about to receive my 34 purple chainring as well. Also with deore xt groupset by the way 👍 Subscribed
Sweet! That’s awesome to hear when people are building there own bike. If adds so much more to the riding experience. Thank you for checking out the channel. I will have a few videos up in the next week or so😉
@@ridedirtymtb9938 great! I have to say I'm quite nervous, never build a bike before and I'm not the most handy man out there to say the least but it will be a learning process. Especially the cables...
@@Lepercurtidoo don’t be, just take your time and take pictures of things as you take them apart. It will save you a lot of trouble. If you have question feel free to dm me @ride_dirty_mtb on instagram🤘
@@ridedirtymtb9938 thank you. Much appreciated. My bike is finished and I'm just back from the first ride. Very happy and also proud 😉
Very cool!!!! Congrats on the build!
Did you notice any improvement on your top speed?
I’ve had the bike out for a few rides and I did notice an increase. My next step is to Chang the cassette 11-51 since it’s a bit worn ( will show in next video) to an xt 12 speed. Only issue is changing out the free hub to a microspline. Luckily the hub manufacture for vitus offers a microspline free hub I can swap out so I don’t have to swap out the whole hub! That video will be out in a few months.
Maybe just put the tool in the vice and turn the crank
I’m sure that can work as well
Hi, thanks for the vid. Can you tell me what the part number is for the Risk tool? Or post a link? Thank you.
Absolutely, I’ll put in the description as well🤟

What chainring are you going with?
@@ridedirtymtb9938 The Unite Shimano Chainring in gunmetal. Not anodised any more but looks great in matte.
@@mdesign8675 it’s a good looking piece , I like the splatter colors they have.
@@ridedirtymtb9938 Just ordered my Risk tool from eBay. Thanks pal.
WD-40 is not a lubricant...it is a Water Dispersant, hence WD. It was the final 40th experiment, now you know.
Correct, and it can be used as a cleaner and a light lubricant in some situations
According to the manufacturers..."While the “W-D” in WD-40 stands for Water Displacement, WD-40 Multi-Use Product is a unique, special blend of lubricants. The product’s formulation also contains anti-corrosion agents and ingredients for penetration, water displacement and soil removal...It does not attract dirt or moisture to metal surfaces." They are pretty vague though and sell a specific product for chains but reviews are not that enthusiastic. @@ridedirtymtb9938
