      Hairgoals! Why you leave manicpanic with conditionor in for 3-4 hours? And why using conditionor instead hairpaint?

    • @MadisonLeigh
      @MadisonLeigh  Před 5 lety +2

      Thank you! haha I now have blue hair! I leave the dye on for 3-4 hours because I want to make sure every hair has absorbed the colour. It is an excessive amount of time to leave it on you could leave it on for just an hour but when I leave it on for that long it dries and becomes slightly hard so that's when I know that it's "ready" to be washed out and it works for me. I use conditioner in the manic panic dye because it makes the colour spread more, by that I mean I have a lot of hair so I could easily go though 3 or 4 its each time so when I dilute it with the conditioner it makes the product spread further. Which s more economical for me. The conditioner also makes my hair feel smoother and healthier, I sometimes put a little coconut oil or olive in with the manic panic dye mix just to help keep my hair as healthy as possible so it doubles as almost a hair mask swell as a dye! :) thank you for your love and comments! xx

      Hello. I have already dyed my hair red but I can never achieve the color I want which is what u have at the end of the video. Did you bleach your hair at all? Or did you just use the L’Oreal and the manic panic? (I used just L’Oreal no bleach) also did the manic panic damage your hair at all?

    • @MadisonLeigh
      @MadisonLeigh  Před 5 lety

      Hey, I never bleached my hair whilst I was red. I only used the HiColour HiLights dye but one tip would be to use the HiColour HiLights all over your head at least twice over two weeks so that you don't damage your hair too much but you also get the brightness. After you've used the HiColour HiLights twice then you can put the Manic Panic all over your hair to get the colour pay off. The Manic Panic colour will not damage your hair whatsoever because it has no harmful chemicals in it, it is vegan and purely a stain (like food colouring if that helps you understand) Hope this helps! Would love to see before and after pictures if you do this method! xx

      The root colour can sometimes be a hot root and I prefer it to be all blended together xx

    • @CherryColaBarbie
      @CherryColaBarbie Před 4 lety +4

      @Madison Leigh I was just about to say that. Due to the heat from the scalp, the roots process at a different rate. I do mine this way as well just to be on the safe side. I too need a blended look. If you're not careful you can end up with a line of demarcation where your roots are lighter! I've had this happen to me a time or 2 over the years. @TheBabyrissa they taught us your way in school as well. It is faster but I find it easier to do it that way when you're going towards darker shades.

      I have red hair as well. Sometimes I only wash my hair with shampoo once in two weeks, it's all about finding a natural shampoo, like Mas Newen, and "teaching" your skin that it doesn't need to produce that much oil anymore by slowly increasing the amount of days you go without washing your hair. And if you hair looks greasy, I just wear braids, or cover my hair with a beanie or hat, or just don't go out in public at all haha. Lastly, homemade gelatin hair gel works great as a natural dry shampoo, even better than storebought ones!

      Omds my struggle

    • @briizie19
      @briizie19 Před 6 lety +26

      Here's the thing about our hair, it will eventually adapt! So at first it will get oily quickly but as you deal with it and persevere you will see that your hair will stop producing so much oil so quick over time if you only wash it 1-2 times per week. The more you wash your hair, the more oil it will produce because washing our hair is drying to the scalp and oil is our scalp's natural conditioner. So to each their own, I just thought I would share that it is a slow process to get your hair to be able to wash it only 1-2 times per week without it becoming super oily.

      @@emilyjames3110 manic panic has no lightener in it so it does not “dye” your hair if it is a dark colour already. It’s a stain so you would need to lift your hair light enough before using it to see the results you’re hoping for xx

    Been box dying my hair red for a year now but only get it to a dark red and want it brighter. How did you get your hair so red the first time? Did you use the L'Oréal dye & developer all over your full head of hair the first time? Instead of just the roots, when you touch up. And then add the manic panic colours on top?

    • @MadisonLeigh
      @MadisonLeigh  Před 5 lety

      Hey, I used the L'Oreal HiColour HiLights all over my head when I went from my natural brown to red so I'm not sure how the same process would turn out on pre-box-dyed hair tbh. However, about 8 inches of the mid lengths to ends of my hair was not virgin hair and had been box dyed before but I hadn't dyed it previously to dying it red for about 1 year before hand so it had faded and washed out by this point. I would say maybe ask a local hair salon for advise? My advise is always to go for it and see what you get haha but that's obviously always going to have risks. In my opinion, it's just hair and hair grows and can be fixed so I say don't avoid doing things because of worrying too much and just go for it xx

    this is great & all but anyone know of any videos or recommendations for older women with stubborn gray roots & dandruff build up to maintain this amazing red hair color I recently dyed it??? I can't go more than 3 days without washing or I get flaky dandruff & gray roots pop up within 1 week of touch up (even with Loreal Highlight) & I even have the red additive in my conditioner I use with every wash

    • @MadisonLeigh
      @MadisonLeigh  Před 4 lety

      Jada Rodriguez I’m no specialist but I think if you have a dark dye on your roots to mid length then the ends will be a lot lighter, I would start with the top of your hair first if you don’t have any regrowth. If you do have regrowth then your hair will go bright red at the root then darkest red then fairly light red at the ends and that’s not a leeeewwwk 😄 I’d say see a specialist for advice xx

    If you use the HiColor red by L'Oreal on already faded and dark red hair, will it bright it too? My ends are almost like an orange brass color but the middle section is still a dark red. I really want light red hair but I was told in order to do that I would have to bleach my hair and start all over again.

    • @MadisonLeigh
      @MadisonLeigh  Před 6 lety +1

      I wouldn't advise using the L'Oreal HiColour HiLights in order to get your hair from your current situation to a brighter red, I know you probably won't want to but you maybe have to just bleach everything out and use a manic panic stain or arctic fox or whatever over the top, you will still get a very bright red that way. However, even though I don't recommend the L'Oreal I used on your hair situation, if you did decide to try the L'Oreal HiColor HiLights just to see, if it didn't work out the way you wished it to, I couldn't stress enough to leave at least 2 weeks before bleaching over the already processed hair. In those 2 weeks make as much time as you can to moisturise your hair with hair masks and serum treatment on your scalp and hair just because this process can be very damaging and you don't want to have your hair snapping off xx

    • @MadisonLeigh
      @MadisonLeigh  Před 5 lety +1

      Hey hun, if you're hair is really dark I'd say buy a lot of the L'Oreal HiColour HiLights dye, I'd say buy a box of 6 so you can use the first 3 tubes all over your head but start with the mid lengths and ends of your hair then go back in and do the roots. If it doesn't come out a bright red then do the same process with other 3 tubes of dye all over your head again then you can make it even brighter by putting the manic panic colour overtop at the end with conditioner. It should turn out really bright by the end. It might sound like a lot of dying but the end result will be great also the next time you dye your hair you'll only have to touch up the roots and refresh the colour so won't take nearly as long xx hope that helped :) xx

The manic Panic stuff is also on Amazon. • @MadisonLeigh
      @MadisonLeigh  Před 6 lety

      Hey hun, I basically re-dye my hair colour everytime I feel I need to do my root touch up. I get about an inch of regrowth every 4 weeks so I usually wait about 5/6 weeks between dying just because I do like the colour the red fades to, so I don't feel the need to dye it every 2 or 3 weeks. The colour at the beginning of the tutorial is literally 7/8 weeks after the previous dye so it doesn't look that bad it just goes a little more pink which I quite like but you can dye it as often as you like using Manic Panic because it doesn't have any harmful chemicals or anything in it, especially if you mix it with conditioner because it will double as a dye and a hair mask hahaha xx

It seems like it took the color but it didn’t brighten my hair at all!!! I’m glad Sally’s has a love it or return it thing because I was told that I can come in with the empty boxes and they I’ll do an exchange. I’m skipping the purple this time and going all out!! I just don’t want fire truck red. What color do you suggest?? I want a maroon red, but I want more red then purple tints. What colour was your hair before you put the colour dyes ontop? If you have dark hair like brown hair, colour doesn't lift your natural hair colour. If you want a bright colour you will have to lift your natural hair colour before dyeing it xx

      Madison Leigh it was a very dark brown with red tints. It didn’t take like I wanted so...I went back to Sally’s and I bleached my hair. It ended up working out okay but I was afraid to bleach my hair for the first time!! Now I have red hair but I need to think about how I’ll be doing root touch ups. Maybe that’s the time to possibly do a hair lightening or...I guess I’d need to bleach again. Thank you so much for the reply!!! I appreciate your video!!

    Hi, I've ordered my Manic Panic and my hair is just past my shoulders so I'd say mid length compared to yours.
    What Ratio of Hot hot pink to Vampire red should I add? And then still just double the conditioner? Is Tresemme conditioner okay? The sulphate free one.

    • @MadisonLeigh
      @MadisonLeigh  Před 5 lety +1

      Hey! I always pour out less than I think i'll need because the dye does spread easily. I'd say maybe just do have of each colour, or just under half hot hot pink and just over half vampire red. You want it to be a noticeable red colour but fade to a pinky red not orange. It's all about experimenting and seeing what ratio is best or you though, you might find that you want to use mostly red and a little pink next time :) xx thank you for watching and commenting! xx

      Alice Eardley the ends of my hair we’re blonde and they fade so so much quicker than my brunette to red hair so it’s completely up to you because the red ontop of blonde does fade quicker but if you choose the right undertone you probably won’t mind the colour it fades to xx at least I don’t mind, half of my head fades to a dimmer red and the bottom half fades to a bubblegum pink kind of colour (the previous blonde half) xx

    • @MadisonLeigh
      @MadisonLeigh  Před 5 lety

      Yeah I'd say use the HiColour HiLights on your roots but I wouldn't advise putting it on your already red hair just because this dye is made for use only on dark brown hair so couldn't predict how it would turn out if you used it on red hair. Use the Manic Panic colour on your whole head after you've used the HiColour :) hopefully it will be as bright as you'd want it to be after maybe two goes at the process xx
