I'd like to see these two guys have a rematch.
love the sportsmanship here from being excited at how your competitor's blade performed in a test to congratulating the winner and acknowledging their craftsmanship
I wish they would do a slow pan of each weapon before they started. I want to see all the detail.
@Mike O There should be.
Willing to risk burning his knuckles so he can make sure his guard is proportionately forged… I had a feeling that kind of commitment would lead to victory.
And ironically the other competitor lost because he didn’t take the time to put his knuckles where his guard was during the forging process.
Looking at his knuckles I think he did burn himself that or he punches things lots and they just always look like that.
Both are very good at forging blades. Besides, a full respect to Scott when he praised his rival with great respect and a compliment of honor.
Its like two best friends competing with each other. So cool and chill vibe. Yet still competition. Another great epizode.
awesome to see such a level of craftsmanship 👍
Mad respect for Mark. His role here was that of a master paving the way for the new gen.
HISTORY ABOUT THE WEAPON PLEASE
The history is that It will kill and it will cut...
@@isaaclacoba4458 Keeeeel
mark's blade was wicked sharp, i've never seen a blade that destroy the strength test's barrel's !!!
Doug- "The blade is light, fast and extremely sharp"
CZcams critics- "WINNER!"
Also Doug- "This blade is good but it rubs on my wrist"
CZcams critics- "LOSER!"
I said no such thing.
The sharpness of these two blades is astonishing. The sharpness test was satisfying af.
Please..... Make special episode where bladesmiths crafting armor, shield anything but not a weapon.... :D
but... that's the main point of the show...
There's already one episode of that where bladesmiths are made to craft a spike shield.
@@slavward what about a helmet and a weapon of the appropriate culture and period made to defeat the other's helmet
@@diegobarron1690 Would love to see Ottoman armor myself.
But armor would not Keal... What doug would say "It will survive!"
after starting my forging journey, i have so much respect for these contestants. The amount of quality work they do in the time they are given is actually inhuman. They defy the laws of physics and understanding. I could not imagine keeping my hammer arm going for that long without rest. And their work stays so straight while they draw it out and pre shape it. I can barely keep the material from turning into a u during pre-shape haha.
10:18 “Get my 10 grand in 1’s so I can blow it at the strip club, ya know, normal stuff. What normal champions do” 💵💃🏻
I love these but please include the history of the weapon!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
If you watch the whole episodes, I think they do at least some of the time. These bits are glorified series trailers.
It was great to see a competition with the competitors so nearly equal. I like the final decision. The blade that won did have some _very_ slight edge damage from the durability test (and that would grind out with trivial ease), but I think that was due to a slightly less robust edge geometry -- something they even mentioned here. And I like that Scott was rewarded for thinking of those fine details -- when making the guard he correctly foresaw how important it was that the hilt be ergonomic and protect that hand without rubbing against it. Details matter, and when two blades of about equal quality come before the judges, those details will decide the winner.
After seeing that both blacksmiths had their blades dne right on first try, I knew it would be a close competition
What a good attitude
I wonder how many pigs have they sliced.... 🤣🤣🤣
Competitors from other TV shows: Noooo you can't just not be dramatic and have a good time!
Competitors from Forged in Fire: Haha forge goes woooooosh
Scott is a character, I bet he'd be fun to hang out with! Great job!
"To show you the power of flex tape, I chopped a pig in half!"
Thumbnail looks like a woman upside down in bikini getting sliced LOL
German Dussage make Sausage!
Good job both
This would have been cool as the first ever draw. One took a minor roll but didn't falter on it's cuts afterwards, the other took no damage but wasn't comfortably crafted.
Both such minor reasons neither of which seemed to outweigh the other.
Dusack!!!
Dussack or Tessack.... Never ever heard about a dusague XD
That was two very nice pieces.
Best feeling ever! Oh yeah!
Great weapons, great Smiths and ir was fun yo watch it
I wanna see a clip of a vegan on this show. There reaction to the pig would be priceless
I don't get how someone can make a guard that would hurt... You really won't lightly test the weapon before bringing?
It wasn't extensive testing... A few swings.... ouch
People have different size hands. Can't be too far off to also probably thought it's OK and focused on the sharpness, etc. They only give 5 days doesn't help.
Du dussage me.. dussage me...lol
whats the name of that tune playing from 2:45 on?
Great job Scott you deserve it.
What happens if they don't surrender their blade and run away with the weapon?😅
You can have my blade when you pry it from my cold dead hands.
"Your proposal is acceptable"
Doug hunts them down
I have always been more concerned that some physco loser will to town with it on the judges. But in seriousness there is a slight risk of holding it and then handing it to the judges. He might get excited and swing his arm...
Nice work guys. Both are talented but one is a little more committed.
El que no le gusta este programa que es fantástico simple que no lo vea porque ami me fascina 🤘🤘🤘
This blade sir, it will kill 😏😏
Scott powers my football coach

Any weapon that didn't pass The keeeel test????
Bring back Wil Willis pls.
This is the sharpness test I'll show people whenever they try to say Leather Armour was a real thing and could stop blades
Something tells me that the leather being tested there wasn’t comparable to leather armour
@@DargonVessle That's the thing though, for leather to have any flex it can't be thick
@@TheWhoamaters you could say the exact same thing about metal, but there’s video of people showing off how much motion plate armour still allows
Scott looks like a chunky Chris Pratt
just wondering what do you do with the pig or goat carcasses after you slash them do you donate them to a soup kitchen
After some research, I found that depending on the situation it's either discarded or donated for animal consumption, such as to a wildlife reserve.
I still watch the show, but it's definitely my least favourite part about it. Seems like an unnecessary waste of life to me.
Cut test and kill test are the same thing, what's the point of having a cut test....
So Doug gets to play with wicked swords more than once :P
Cut test uses thicker material to test the blades.
Cut test makes it show whether your weapon is an actual cutter rather than a sword that tears
The main purpose is to see if the blade will still cut after the desctruction test.
Any joe can make a blade. Lets see these guys make armor

Just comment
Another oak barrel chop like they did with our Kilij.
Germans have created some great weapons…
🇩🇪
When did Jack Black become a blacksmith?
What is this ? One guy wins 10k and the other guy cant even keep his sword? The time of work and the materials are at least worth 2k in my opinion.. smh..
They get it back after the episoded aired on tv.
You have to fight the judges to get it back.

Lead is a toxic metal. The winner was smart by hammering his guard out with sheet steel. How about not making a weapon that will risk poisoning the judges who will be testing your work?
Lead isn’t toxic to the touch only toxic if ingested in huge amounts
