Hint : A good knife should also have a good part in it for your pointing finger .Press it slowly ..But do not push it with to much pressure .A knife should be balanced with a few exceptions . Just like a Thor Hammer the balance should be towards the ... Ok nouf said .said nouf .
Its funny how people are saying the tests are dumb.. They are literally trying to break the weapons fools, they're trying to find which one is strongest, especially with the strength test.
let them bark lol. dont mind the ignorant 😉
I love the tests, but the ice block is stupid. Use helmets, bamboo bundles, shields, even big hardwood stumps, a huge block of ice is about the same as iron or granite and proves nothing, people can (and do) lose due to nothing but sheer bad luck.
That's the issue though, when you put weapons in strength tests so far above and beyond the use they're meant for, it ends up unduly rewarding ones that may be worse overall but better stand up to the absurd test. Eg, you could just deliver a glorified chopper and win if it survives whatever ridiculous test like hitting a giant lug nut with a hammer (a test I've actually seen them do) while the other doesn't even if said other is better in every other way. They should be tested for how well they hold up to their intended use, not the insane abuse tests
@@whensomethingcriesagain people who regularly make weapons do test their blades by cutting through 2x4s multiple times and try shaving afterwards, even though the weapon itself only needs to sustain a one tenth of the force they’re applying to it.
@@swxqt6826 That's fine to do on its own, presumably they're still prioritizing making it in the shape and role it needs to be, the problem comes with how this competition is judged, the amount of weight given to these durability tests that are way beyond the expected use of the weapon becomes a serious problem when it unduly rewards just making what amounts to a crowbar with an edge
"It will keelll" the best part of the show 😄
It's Keal, keep everyone alive
That's true
Yup.... High praise!!
I get tired of it
@@poopoo4221 Even more so that litterally everyone weapon can kill.. Even a cinder block will kill.
The second weapon demonstration - judges know the skill it takes to make these blades, they are strict with their comments but they are fair and respectful 👏
The strength test is always the most terrifying part for me
Doug Marcaida is the cool uncle we all want to have.
Wish to have 😞
Such gracious men of honor, in victory or defeat, that's what I love most about this show.
13:44 I feel so bad for Dan… the pain in “yep” says it all :(
Another slight gripe:
A colichemarde is a type of small-sword. Most small-swords were really only thrusting blades. So it's a bit misleading (although more visually exciting) to cut with & colichemarde.
I also don't think anyone should be penalized for not sharpening a colichemarde on the show.
That's what I was thinking
he lost anyway cause his sword bent. but i disagree, it is still a sword and would still require to be sharp to some degree, even if its main purpose is to stab (we clearly see from the footage that it had trouble perforating the skin too, and doug showed that it wasnt sharp at all arround the tip)
If it was a strict duelling colichmarde, yes. But as a wartime colichmarde, it's should fully be able to slash. Chopping is what the blade is not designed for, which is why he did tip cuts on the cherry wood and Doug did the same with the sandbags.
@@ishaaqmartin3564 Do you have any sources for that you could link?
The bayonet knife is my favorite. When I was little, I really like gunblades: half-gun, half-blade. Bayonet guns may not be a gunblade, but I like how it works: from a pointy gun to a normal safety-issue knife. You don't usually see them these days, since they're a separate weapon now. Still, I like it. I love it. Hopefully, one day, "it will kill" again.
The baker rifle's sword bayonet would be a cool weapon for forged in fire
it will KEEL
I love how they test these blades in ways they were never designed to be used.
29:23 Well someone woke up and chose brutality, I like it
😂
"It will keeell" the best part of the show 😂
Best part this show for me is .... expression while saying... it will kill
You had to be so patient and skilled to do this let alone way back then when they didn't have fancy machines .
Thats one way to say you havent watched the show
The chain is rather useless, even if it held up. Looks ”touristy” too
I need Forged in Fire to make a special "US production knives", with Rick Hinderer, Sal Glesser and all, using forges and all !
I don’t care if it costs $500 for a 6 inch camp knife *I will buy it*
32:57. Doug's kid ego came out here.
Cylinder handles should be the same as catastrophic failure lol.
Washington was fairly typical of officers- the smallsword (Colichemarde in this case) would be worn as part of dress. It was proper for civilian life. The hangar or saber (Cuttoe in this case) would be worn on the field. Of course there was a lot of overlap. I'm unaware of any times Washington actually struck someone with his sword (perhaps at his first battle, the killing of Sieur de Jumonville), but the sword was usually used in the colonies for signalling as the halberd and partisan were often cumbersome when moving through thick brush and marching over long distances.
The inability to cut with a small sword is fairly typical. However, if that sword bends that easily, then it's not safe taking into the field or in a duel. Smallswords weren't always carried on the field, but you never know when you might need it.
I like the top fourth and the fifth, but I like them all. Gorgeous Washington is Great guy for 4th July.
Love from india
"Gorgeous Washington" haha
Ngl George Washington was not the best guy yeah he was the first president and did may good things for this country but he was a slave owner and only some we're released when he died the rest we're released when his wife died but no one is perfect all great people have some bad thing example Martin Luther King Jr had many affairs but he still did many good things for the African American community.
@@abdyblanco4870 to be fair, they were actually his wife's slaves, he treated them incredibly well, and released as many as he could upon his death which was the only way he could with the current laws because again, they were originally his wife's
@@CrankyPants05 to be fair there are documents showing the slaves are are owned by George Washington but if George Washington was to die they would go to his wife and no he did not treat them good he didn't even treat them like people why because they're SLAVES.
Isaac looks like he's in a constant state of existential anxiety. Poor guy.
It will keeeeel
Very nice program loved it ❤️
More of this!
I always enjoy watching beautiful blades
Been waiting for this!!!!!
7:58 ~ Wow! Washington had a mean streak! For those who understand that weapon and its inherent cruel nature, you know what I mean. There's a reason why it was banned in dueling centuries ago.
Do you mind telling me why the sword was so cruel?
Another great show
nice !🔥
Red coats on the dummies would have been better not blue.
I think they were dressed up as Hessians, which were the German mercenaries hired by the British. In this episode they were focused more on Washington’s victory at Trenton where the main opposing force were the Hessians.
Although I strongly agree, they did mention hessians. But yes, no love for the red coats!!!
@@bruceskinner642 fortunately for you, red coats don’t exist anymore
@@thedesertrat_9514 Correct.
Did Tyler call Doug a pervert at 1:45?🤣
Dan had no confidence
the only issue I have with this show; the judges do some risky stuff with the weapons & I worry about them 🙂
@Ry Til I Die r/iamabadass
@Ry Til I Die gfus
@Ry Til I Die This is some serious insecure projecting.
@Ry Til I Die hey man!, I've seen those knives break in their hands, and fly off at high speed towards where ever, I'm not being a wuss, I just like the guys and I'm saying that a little kevlar here and there wouldn't hurt! 😃
@Ry Til I Die dude no need to be so edgy lol.
This is an awesome tv show or series I love to watch this when I eat
I am not a specialist; this is why I want to know is this a right way to test a sword? Bend it to 35 then 45 degree?? Or just a TV gimmick??
Both
Nah straight up gimmick.
Depends on the sword. Some you really want a lot of flex in, other types need to be sturdier. You wouldn't do it with a medieval arming sword, but anything with a long, thin blade needs to bend safely, because if you hit bone or armor, that thing's gonna bend.
Check out British proof for sword testing
Nice work 🎆🎇✨
what matters is "It will KEEL"
Ya
It will keal
Nice work 🎇✨🎆
I wonder if anyone else noticed at 5:35 that the chain was back on his handle
Love from india
Doug going all the way on that dummy’s 😅
yo the lil song clip that starts playin at 22:09 goes stupid mega dummy hard, no cap
Should of had the Native American Tomahawk
Too thick?
Originally made of a shaped piece of stone attached to a wooden handle, the tomahawk was like arrow heads 'stone', till the white man came and sold hatchets to them. Not to many Native American blacksmiths back then, just saying.
"Your wear sir It will keel"
It will cut
It will slice 🤣
I like the word of it whill kill and it whill cut.. haha
cool!
What a nice Guns.
Did I miss the Bowie, or did they?
They did.
Another is the K- Bar
I didn't realize until watching this that there are a lot of U.S. blades.
They've done both but only in Round 1-2 challenges
Can someone make a compilation of Doug saying “It will Keal”
Turn the captions on 1:46 you guys won't be disappointed 👍
Its 4 am rn ,your comment made me laugh so much i feel complete now and i can go to bed, thank u good sir
Dang us Americans are really brutal with our weapons XD
That's why we use the 5.56mm round as opposed to the 7.62, the 5.56 tumbles and causes massive flesh damage vs the 7.62 which will go straight through people
Do they lose their swords? They have to turn them in?
Oh my God never thought of it
I think that’s just part of the show
“Alright gentlemen, welcome to the Keal test”
George Washington must have had brutal taste, I love it.
Nice,,,, super
they should give that othe judge a chance also to test, like come on guys
What Tyler did @ 1:10 🤣🤣
Woooow nice 👍🏽🇸🇪
I would love forged in fire but instead of blades it would be guns
Bang-bang in meraca
Love from team gb
What did doug said at the beginning of the video? "it wil keel?"
Ok Doug , it’s dead!☠️
“It will Kegel!!!!!!!”
please forge a swiss army knife!
Did he really just drink from a flask lol
These blades are great, 'Gene, your blade handle is polished and round..'
The best part of the show is "it will kill"
@@juziu 𝚜𝚘𝚛𝚛𝚢
didnt know americans used swords i just thought they used nuke, gun, bomb lmao
According to Mark Twain ",George Washington was a pathetic child. He couldn't even tell a lie. " lol.
It will kell
That’s just what we call a gun
Wtf? 0:06 Will, Will?
I haven't read the comments but I'm assuming somebody else is probably pointed this out.
Forté part of a sword blade, forte is a musical term meaning loud.
Forte is derived from the French word fort meaning strong. It is pronounced like fort in militarily fort.
The two-syllable pronunciation (fôr′tā) is increasingly heard perhaps owing to confusion with the musical term. Forte is pronounced in English as (fôr′tā) and in Italian as (fôr′te) and means loud.
So Washington's Colichemarde had a forte (fort aka strong) not a forte (for-tay aka loud)
if i won this and they asked how i felt, i wouldn't be saying oh i feel great or "cloud nine" i feel great, nope! i would react like a real human being and they would have to bleep most of my response
What happened to Will?
He went to focus on his other show on AHC channel
Why was the dummy not wearing a red coat?
He is not fashion
It's supposed to represent a Hessian soldier (German mercenary hired by the British) as opposed to a British regular (who wore the iconic red coat).
I miss will
It will keal
Should have dressed the Pig & Ballistic-Gel Targets in clothing for more realistic testing 👍👍🤗
When are you going to make a lightsaber
Make the Christian falchion
why is kernel sanders one of the judges
:) it will keel :)
Keal , keepeverythingalivelonger
Judges are sooo coool. Not like MasterChef trash
0:06 *ëwū*
Do they eat the pig when they’re done cutting it up
The carcasses are given to a wildlife sanctuary after the show
It will kill
if the history channel would accurately depict george washington that'd be great
No one actually cares
M
According to Mark Twain, George Washington was a pathetic child," he couldn't even tell a lie ".
Sword bending just make me cringe bruh my your swords rest in peace
"Cringe" lame
17:55. Not the purpose of a sword.
no Bowie knife? that's downright unamerican😆
@Harrison Drews
Nope. Named after it's inventor, James Bowie, who met his end at the Alamo. Legend says he was sick and in bed when the Mexicans broke through. As they entered his room, he shot two with a pistol in each hand, then drew and threw his knife, killing another before the rest planted their bayonets in his chest.
Only an American would be proud of an iconic, American made weopon..... only then to have another American make an iconic American piece of art excluding it....🤦🏿♂️
I bet u they would look like children swinging swords without the editing😂
แค่มาเม้น
American blade from south america, europe, and asia. Lol
It says American deadliest blades but nothing was shown to be from Cold Steel KTC
