ok
This is the only episode where the prize money could have been split between the two. Both got exceptional works of art, that perform.
Yup. I'll second that.
Third that.
Fourth that.
Fifth that
Sixth that.
This was honestly the first competition I’ve seen where the winner wasn’t obviously
lol you nailed it
Same here
Yeah, I thought the other guy had just pipped it tbh.
Had 2 hours less time, took slightly less damage and performed just as well as the winner.
@@seansamurai1981 I felt the same way, but it was a game of split hairs. Without getting to look at them in hand I default to the judges reasoning.
When the winner isn't obvious, it comes down to aesthetics. The fact that the one guy, who looks a lot like a Jonas Brother TBH, decided to do a 300 layer Damascus is what gave him the win.
If they’re gonna put different weapons against one another, do 1 hand vs 1 hand and 2 handed vs 2 handed. I feel like that would be more fair
True he won because of the complexity of that blade and still with standing the tests
When two different weapons are up against each other in the finale, I feel the decision is based off of how they performed based on their intended purpose.
yeah, i still like the old format of making the same weapon for the 2 finalists.
Agreed. Just like SMG Vs AkM
I thought Damon was going to win. Chris' blade took more damage in the strength test. And for a one handed short sword to perform as well as a two handed sword, I thought for sure it was going to be Damon. Both made awesome blades, definitely no losers here.
Agree. Plus he had less time to make his blade.
One walked out with 10k and one walked out with a sad face definitely a loser here
Also Chris made that angled end on his blade when in the description of the blade it said flat end
That's what I thought. That smaller blade was amazing.
@@Gontran_Courtjoie that's was by his choice, can't extra points for that
That's a tie in my book. I say $5,000 to each bladesmith.
History channel could afford $10K each
I second this.
that's your opinion, but the rules are written
With the boa zande, I don’t think I’ve ever seen such a small blade so effortlessly destroy the big carcass test.
"The sea was angry that day my friends, like an old man trying to send back soup in a deli."
You're telling me that all those years of busting clay pots as Link had my sword all chipped and rolled?! Mannnn
IMO Damond won that. He made a one handed weapon that chopped as well as a two handed weapon, and it also took less damage in the pot chop. This one was incredibly close, but I think Damond made a better blade.
One of the closest decisions I've seen to date. There are certainly no losers in this one.
But there was they sent Damon home.
Yeah man, the guy that walked out with nothing was certainly just as much a winner as the guy that walked out with 10k
They aren’t even pretending this is a real competition anymore. Comparing apples to oranges would be a closer comparison than what we just watched.
Wow. One of the closest ones ever. I would have actually picked the other blade. The quality was slightly higher. But definitely not an unjust result. Really good work to both.
As you didn't actually handle them I guess it's a hard one to call via video
@@nohero88 touchy touchy. But you're right. Can't know without handling.
i was very impressed on the first test... the one handed sword cut the pig in half in the same amount of blows... so that should be counted for
@@Lustik1990 I thought the African dagger should have won because of that. The fact that it chopped the same as a 2 handed bladed designed for chopping.
Top 5 eargasms.
5. Transformers transforming in Michael Bay's movies.
4. Lightsabers.
3. ASMR.
2. Rain on a tin roof.
1. Doug saying that your weapon will kill.
Somebody gotta do compilations of him saying only it will keal lmao
I wholeheartedly disagree with your 3. Should be removed and replaced with heavy thunder
@@bobsvegana9896 Oh, they've done that. Just look up "It Will KEAL."
*cough* *cough* “KEAL”
Keel*🥲
Why are they making two different weapons in the final? Feels like the guy that lost was kind of set up
Don't say it like that. Both their weapons, even though different, they both performed equally well.
Think about it, one of them could've had a catastrophic failure at any time. Still could've gone either way.
@@SrChr778 you want them making the same blade so both of them have the same or different result
I think it was fair because it was gamble what they are going to build. Then if the looser would have went with his first option he could have had better chances at winning because it was more complex build. He went with the easier to make blade instead.
At 0:18, the Kelewang that is show there is the one made by the winner of the episode where that weapon first appear in the show, Tim.
Great to see it again. Is looks so good that the show now use it replacing the one that was show at the beginning of the last challenge in his own episode.
Is this competition even fair? They're such different weapons made for different techniques and different purposes.
The finale weapons tests and the theme of the episode correlates to one of my favorite sayings “You say a prayer, I’ll roll the bones.”
That Damascus on the short sword looks beautiful
This came down to, "We like his better." Unfair judgement, the weapons should be kept the same.
7:10 "can we just talk this out?" 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I felt so bad for the "loser," it does not even sound fair to say that, I felt like his was better because it was sharper and it did not take on as much damage from the tests
This is one of the first neck and neck situations to where I feel the other blade should've won. That pandat picked up both glinting AND slight rolling, while the other blade picked up extremely minor glinting. Props to both Smiths for turning in beautiful weapons, but I feel like this was more one-sided then what I've seen throughout the seasons of this show. They either need to give this man a rematch immediately or scrap the wheel of forging idea, because I'm sorry, that wasn't a fair fight.
"Can we just talk this out?"
Lol. Champion reply.
اللهم إن في القدس أبطال فاحفظهم وثبت أقدامهم 🇵🇸 وإن في غزة جيوشا فسدد رميهم وانصرهم نصرا عزيزا ❤
I (and even the runner up) would have like to know what were the fine details that led to the decision.
The glinting he was talking about was without a doubt the pig carcass -- pig bones are notorious especially if you've used a cleaver on one
both blades performed equally....but i think it is unfair...like really both the blades are a world different from each other.....the weilding techniquees are completely different and so are the functionalities.......i dont think the weapons have been tested equally
Why......do .......you......do.....this?
@@mr.prettx8706 ... --- ...
@@mr.prettx8706 I used to do that. Also knew a few other that did too. The reason is fairly similar to all.... it's just a stream of thought...putting whatever comes to mind into a comment... thinking about something else to say... and really not coming up with anything.
We're not writing papers or essays on the Internet. Some people just type what comes to mind without thinking of grammar or punctuation. Like a stream of thought from your head direct to text in an uninterrupted flow.
They should start doing either a Tie, or have another competition tie breaker. This one looked too close to call.
Didn’t get why they favored one instead of another.
It was uglier
@WhyAmIWearing ARedShirt i would say that u are right if they used the same blade! And the winner blade took more damage. And I allso had the feeling that they allready picked the winner before it really started
@WhyAmIWearing ARedShirt It apply on the same blade but with 2 totally different blades, including a 1handed vs a 2 handed, and both performing exactly the same i feel like the judged fliped a coin on this one... even tho i would probably give more credit to a 1 handed sword performing as good on the kill test than a heavy choper tho...
I guess it was because of the historical accuracy. The Pandat looked pretty much like any other historical Pandat. However on the Boa-Zande the piercing ricasso was clearly drilled instead of forged, that means that was not as historically accurate as the Pandat.
@@swedejohansson2587 I think so, because the other guy rolled one more time.
I wish they add one more test
New shirt for Doug, Incredible
The dramatic exit and entrance at 7:42
While i enjoyed the show im not a fan of the 2 different blades being pitted against each other.
Wow how many cutting devices can they make so BARBERICK THIS SHOW IS SUCH A WASTE OF True real talent and real craftsman
Way to go Damond! You will always be stellar at home! Casper is proud!!!
A 100% winner and a 101% winner.
so the guy who had a nicer blade, less time and had less chips on his blade lost? not sure it was the right call
I agree 100%. They even said It came down to the finer details in which damonds was better looking looking for sure. Bad call on this one
“Can we just talk this out?” Is the best response
Lol don't do this again, different blades what were they thinking? The worst case scenario seemed to have happened the first time they tried it as well lol
The problem is that they're running out of historically significant blades to make. The last season has been mostly a rehash of old shows
@@Unkn0wabl3 They should go with some more fantasy and heavy weapons. The only problem is that these judges wont be able to handle the heavy ones.
But I'd do videogame/anime weapons
Hi, I'm from Indonesia, but I just found out if the pandat is a weapon that comes from my country. I think I have to learn more to get to know a lot of things in my country hahaha...
I'M THE ONLY WEAPON GET THAT PIG 🤣🤣🤣🤣✅👈❤
trowsers
Well it was really tough one to make decision!!! Loved this episode 🔥🔥
when the guy said hes from las Vegas, Nevada all i could think of was lil baby's part in "want's and need's" by drake
The new host speaks...
Me: Sir, I'm gonna ask you to please leave the forge...
Love this show to the bone
I disagree with this episode.
You can't compare two craftsmen's capabilities by making different weapons. Each weapon has its own feeling of comfort, they both have different handle types and blade geometry. It kind of starts to seem that they are running out of ideas to spice up this show.
Thanks You For making a distinctive weapon from INDONESIA KALIMANTAN(BORNEO) 🙏
This is where a toss should have come in handy
Awesome both guys!!!
First one of these I've seen where I wasn't 99.9% sure of who would win was crazy close performance wise and neither seem to have any real negative feedback.
That dude was dying to tell everyone he did jiu jitsu....they always do lol
This is the only episode.. where I am not happy with the decision... Both of them should have been declared as forged in fire champion.. as both of their weapons performed neck to neck ...
Chris like to redeem himself, for choosing the Kelewang 😄
Ran out of episodes to watch perfect timing
This may be the first or second time I disagree with the judges' decision. The boa-zande was better imo.🤷♂️
glad to see that they're finally wearing protective gear during strength test
it will keeeellll
Lol😂😂😂
I binge watched this and I need more videos :))
Let’s just be honest, it was a very close matchup but the one guy thought he had it in the bag but he snubbed J Neilson about his voice, making a gesture that he might be high af or had a cold/COVID. So they did him the same. Humility wins this one.
The beast from the east
I don t like when he ask "ru ready"
What? That sword is slanted back and not forward? 0-o
Very cool!!!! 👍👍👍
I feel it was a wrong decision..
either than this it could be more fun like one rolling for the weapon they gonna make and the other one roll for the material they could be use
WHEEL ... OF FORGING!!!
Maybe u should consider making this competition fair by giving the finalists the same tools and metals to choose from
One of the closest challenges in the history in my opinion
I know Damond! I’m from casper too! I was really cheering for him!
The fact that a glorified spear with a short handle was able to compete with a two handed cleaver on steroids amazes me
I think the fact that the BOA-ZANDE, has a single slot on the ricasso, whereas the bladesmith made two holes, that's what went against him.
Yes i think the same👍🏻
Indeed, he deviated too far from the showcase design
Whats the reason for using the sword with the bending towards himself? I thought its made to hit around shields and that stuff 🤔
I am from Indonesia. Respect 🙏👍
Nice
This is the closest battle in the history of the show.. 👀
the most unfair comparison yet...i mean those are two different weapons how can you even compare them.
Nelson is like the coolest teacher but everyone is afraid of😅
There should be a consolation prize.
They should have different approach in such cases tie will be fair and the title split
Nice work 🌠🎆✨
Just pointing out that the way Chris said Nevada at 2:56 is the way that it should be pronounced. 😉
Is it just me? cz for the 1st time of me watching forged in fire since last 2 seasons, i couldn't predict whose gonna win after keel and strength test!!
This is one of the times I really wish they had tiebreakers, but at the same time, I get why they don't: there'd be a lot of argument about what deserves a tie breaker, and the suspense would be different at the end result every time. Plus it'd give less room for judges to subjectively evaluate aspects of blades
Anyways, super close call, super impressive blades
I see the host has slowed down the hand rubbing movements 😂
Let's see how his pacific edge holds up!
This was very close. I wonder what the finer details were that put him over the edge.
Anyone else notice the cutting edge on the Pandat was on the wrong side? At least from what i looked up and the direction they were swinging it
Did anybody notice that the pandat has the edge on the wrong side of the blade?
Why did you say the four days they work total to 35 hours is that the max time they can work on it? If so how do you measure do they record it?
The judges' decidion is not working with 2 different blades, that performed eakwally, no expanantion followed(
I think they have the explanation on the full episode.
Eakwally or eek Wally ?
Equally
Likely the 2 drilled holes instead of the single shaft slot was the deciding factor, it was not the same blade design as requested
Kris won coz pandat is more difficult to forge and he accepted the challenge with one spin. It's risky coz pandat is more likely to suffer catastrophic failure than his opponent due to the construction of the blade.
Haha the Pandat went and Wondat xd
"Get to the choppah!"
Curved swords
PANDAT 😍 in my country INDONESIA here 🇲🇨🇲🇨🇲🇨
Honestly I was surprised they were able to pick a winner
Urumi
I dont like that they no longer ask the losing contestant to shake the judges hands before leaving. I know they probably still shake their hands at some point but seeing it really adds some wholesomeness to the show.
This is really messed up like because I thought both guys performed equally and what finer details he
Not an expert but I'm pretty sure they used the pandat wrong, the idea of angles swords like that is to get over the top of shields and hopefully get a cut on heads faces and shoulders.
Why don't they just keep the 🕶️ on they take them off and on every show 😂
