The new host seems lousy.
I’m starting a petition we want will back this new guy is horrible
The guy that broke it put one more hit on the one he broke than the other so it is a bs result
But why? It's a new episode, few days old and you show us the ending in a 10 minute clip. Why?
I love forged in fire.
Suggestion; maybe you can have an episode/s about how to repair the catastrophic damage that happens with some of the weapons?
How can Doug be so murderous and so wholesome at the same time?
The blood every were on I’m make me shiver ha ha
Doug can be a good villain character to be honest.
I’d say he does have a duality of feelings or personality good and bad.
Like that...^
And so weak... everything is too heavy for doug lol
Hey all! My names Jordan. Winner of this episode. It is so much fun to read all these comments. It was an amazing episode to be a part of. The three other smiths and I are now good friends. Amazing people. Cheers everyone.
Amazing work. I feel sorry for the other guy but you certainly had the edge!
Hey buddy your axe was awesome my ancestors are leaping in glad for what you have done may my ancestors bless you and your family and as we say in the Philippines " Maraming salamat" or many thanks
Good job buddy - I was rooting you since the end of the first round! I usually bet against the smith who goes for damascus in the last round but not this time after seeing how your knife came out too!
Its nice to see one of our tribe's old weapon/tool. Thank you ❤️ proud igorot from the Philippines

"oh, he headbutted me"
Glad to see my ancestors' (the Igorots) weapon, the headhunter axe or "wasay" featured on this great show.
It's crazy to think that it was created only 10 generations or even 20 generations back. Our ancestors might have well been farming and creating sining by hand in the BCEs. I suppose entertainment existed back then in the form of... drama? Haha, it's kind of childish but do you think our deep-rooted love for drama comes from them too? Cavemen are nice.
@@tilde5884 the Chinese came to trade with the Igorots back then. It can be confirmed by the possession of porcelain jars of some "baknang" and "kadangyan". As to the history of the axe, some traders migt have brought a battle axe from India. It was redesigned due to the lack of iron here in Cordillera. The blade is slim and the axe is light to be held in one hand.
@Nphekt most of igorot tribes has the same shape pattern, however the bugkalots a neighbor tribe of the igorots uses bolo like weapon for headhunting
@Nphekt yes it's a kalinga head hunting axe
@@emmjo812 kalinga and some parts of bontoc like sadanga tribe we call it pakiyos
The fact that both axes´s HEADS survive that strength test was impressive. Bad luck for Jesse.
This is why I think they should allow back up handles
@@jacklau2558 he could have wrapped it in anything and kept it going
@@deathwish-gg8wz A new handle is safer those
I love how childishly excited Doug was. I'm so happy for him
Philippines is a blade culture. Pre-colonial "Filipinos" never developed any non-weapon martial art because they started carrying knives and other weapons as children. Doesn't matter if the martial art was striking based or grappling based, they always incorporated blades. For Doug to wield an Igorot Axe is a dream come true. It's likely one or more of his ancestors was on the wrong end of that weapon at some point in history.
6:24 the headbutt, the ballistics dummy clan is having vengeance now, keel sir might get keeled

This is sad when you are focused to steel and you will lose on wood.
Duct tape fixes all.
I feel really sorry for him
Thx for the spoiler guys😑😑🔥
@@nash5097 sorry mate, but never look at the comments before watching
First time i feel sad when i watch this series
Doug is always excited for the keel test but you could tell he really enjoyed this one, dude was practically bouncing up and down
I really liked Jessie's cause he even added the tattoos to the handle, as an Igorot that just made me feel nice inside lmao but congrats to Jordan!!
I really liked when Doug mentioned it, 'Someone did some research...' It's gotta feel good to have your extra effort recognized like that.
Nice recreating my ancestors head axe, but got issues with the wood used for the handle traditionally we use guava wood and white iron wood or any tropical wood, for that it has a smaller and compact wood grains to resist any fatal blow like shattering cow skulls.
"But first up... the Keal"
*Doug walks in with the expression of a kid who knows it's fun time*
Looking at Doug face when using every contestant weapon is priceless
Doug has to be the calmest and chillest of the judges cause he gets to dump whatever anger he has into the test dummies which basically feels like killing a man
Wow they both performed really well! We've seen a lot sturdier blades not be able to take significantly less punishment. The guy truly can hold his head up high. Prettier weapon too.
6:26 “Ooooo he head butted me!” 😂😂😂 I’m dead
I feel like if that handle didn’t break he would have won.
If both had nothing wrong in the end it would come down to aesthetics.
His blade actually looks better crafted.
But I guess there lies the fault.
He put too much effort and thought on the blade and kind of misses on quality of wood for the handle.
Sad and tragic.
I actually liked his blade better.
I hope they make another Igorot Headhunter axe finale. I'd like to see the contestants' works make it through the tests. Jesse's work is so good, even the shape of the blade is almost accurate, and the blade survived the strength test.
I like how the official subtitle is calling it keel test when Doug said it LOL
It's always the same judge that break the weapons on the strength test
Both blades were great
It’s the strength test. Of course he’ll be there. Cheap handle. Imagine if you are in battle and it only lasted 10 blows. DEAD!!!
If it is difficult for them to forge those weapons I can't imagine how difficult it would be for the blacksmiths of the 13th century.
The axe was made by Tribes here in the Philippines without proper equipment compared to the blacksmiths back then. I'm pretty sure they can manage
The joy these guys show when doing this stuff is infectious
It will keal ❤️❤️
4:34 Did you see the look on Doug's face? He couldn't wait to use those weapons.
Most annoying voice on TV lol
@@procommunistdestruction2318 fun fact, he says it that way on purpose. He can say kill. Unless you are just referring to his voice in general.
@@ryanharkness6303 he's told to pronounce the word in case kids watched this show. Producers didn't want the kids to hear "kill".
@@cybern9ne I did in fact know that, it's a super cool fact about the show.
Jordan's smile was so contagious.
This weapon is used during "head hunting" season which each tribes had the opportunity to behead their enemies as a prize for their tribe.
Head hunting is a spiritual, social and political form of culture in Igorot and other tribes in Cordillera, Philippines.
Sounds like a terrible tradition.
I never thought that there is a season were may ancestors gonna kill someone and display there head as a award and yes im from Philippines
Sounds just like the purge
Haha pp
Never thought head hunting was a thing in our past.
Proud igorot tribe here from Philippines...
Has Jay ever did a test that he didn't get injuries
well strength tests are the one that put the weapon to its limits
@@mrmacedon But Jay's form is also pretty horrid. This one does come down to the construction, but the one that really gets me mad is the baskethilt sword challenge. He nearly broke his forearm because he was swinging the sword so wrong. Doug handled the sword properly, but Jay hurt himself because of poor use, NOT bad smithing.
@@heroicaknight4735 The man swings like he's going through a bitter divorce.
Jay is not a good judge at all. I could break anything he made if I tried like he did on this show.
Love how passionate Doug was in the video. He was very excited to use those weapons.
"IT WILL KEEL" = "NAKAKAMATAY"
"Pum-matey" exact translation from the origin of the weapon itself.
Looks like another weapon broken by J Nielson.
Freaking J Nielson! Every time!
He broke the handle, not the weapon. The blade is the weapon. You can replace the handle.
Yes he is annoying
@@procommunistdestruction2318 well it IS kinda his job lol. Can't really fault him for being GOOD at it can you? Isn't being good at your job something we all try to strive for? In the terms of seeing hard work destroyed, yes it is sad and sometimes depressing, but this is what they signed on for.

This is such a silly situation to be in. He can't control the quality of his wood! This is one of the worst reasons to be disqualified! Let him come back, please.
You're not wrong that the primary focus is the steel, but they judge it based on the whole WEAPON. Which includes the handle. If it breaks in battle (or work depending on what you're making), that's a major problem for the short term. And he could have used a stronger type of wood for his handle. It sucks, yeah, but his blade can't be tested fairly if his handle is broken.
@@heroicaknight4735 it's part of Safety Reasons....on the plus side There still a Second Chance edition. Lets hope he can comeback
@@stalinsoulz7872 i agree with ya. I also hope that they will feature this headhunter's axe again in future seasons. They made claymores in 2 or 3 seasons, so there's hoping to that
I love how Jordan is so happy watching his axe being used
PROUD IGOROT HERE! Mabyag ti Pilipino ay Ka Igorotan! Kalinga!
I am grateful that they showed our local weapons.
Jesse did a great job I hate to see him lose this way. The winners weapon was beyond amazing awesome job guys.
Proud igorot here❤
You can tell Doug really liked using those axes. As someone of Igorot descent I too want to get my hands on one of those.
Just a little suggestion, if this will come out.
Try making those weapons using the same exact materials used in their original manufacturing process. Like, making the Headhunter's Axe using local materials the Igorot blacksmiths would use when manufacturing them.
It could be a good showcase on how hard to manufacture they can actually be and have a closer look on how they are made historically.
Probably the same but it takes longer to forge
I actually want to see a video on the process of traditional igorot forging. I've never been able to find any.
5:55 "it will KEEEAL!" ought to be a meme!
Finally a good keel test and great episode
When he said it will be alright I knew catastrophic failure countdown had begun lol
The Blade is alright, but not for the handle. So i will call it a draw
Must be an editing thing, the guy doing the editing keeping in such phrases when something fails later.
That headhunter's axe is named as "Aliwa" of the Kalinga, and a similar axe to this is the " Wasay" of the Bontoc. All are Igorots ethnicities from the CAR( Cordillera Administrative Region )
Wasay is dif from that one
I've always seen them Called Kalinga but w/e they are it is my favorite Axe/Tomahawk design period
awesome work done man!
6:31. Just the delivery of that statement was just perfect.
I’m always saddened when the better looking weapon breaks and loses. But that’s just part of the game.
6:25 ~ Ballistic dummy fights back against Doug! (Sort of.) 😋

I love this show
I love how these guys are like “yea I’m a blade smith”, but everyone always seems to have brand new tools and machines in their sheds as if this is the first time they have ever made a blade
it's not just the blade, it's the handle too
Too bad the handle broke! These weapons were amazing

The funniest thing Doug has ever said is at 6:31

Doug: It will keel 😆
Watching from the philippines i love it
is it just me or keel guy looks like andy serkis
not only that but he matches that certain energy andy has with how excited he is everytime he tests something
It seems like Forge Welding is always a gamble.
Having the handle break but the blade stay strong has to be one of the worst ways to lose.
