Cinematic Titanic riffed a different Don Dohler movie called the Alien Factor. Both the Sheriff and the Mayor were in it... in the same roles.
DDCU = Don Dohler Cinematic Universe. I like to think that Drago is a distant (inbred) cousin of Mr Longfellow from 'Fiend'.
Drago is also in the original movie.

The female deputy was actually the director Don Dohler's aunt's hair dresser, but in the documentary Blood, Boobs and Beast Dohler himself said it was his wife's hair dresser. I wanna say wife cause I imagine Dohler asking his wife like; "Honey, didn't your hair dresser used to be a stripper?" "Yeah, why?!" "I need an actress who doesn't mind being nude in a sex scene". "You didn't tell me you where adding a sex scene in this movie?!" "I didn't, but the distributor insisted on having some nudity in it. And since this movie already has gore and an alien monster I might as well add the 3rd B in the 3 B's". What's the 3 B's?" "Blood, Boobs and Beast". And guess which one of the distributors this movie had? Troma! Yes, this is an official Troma-movie! Oh and filming the sex scene with his wife or aunt's hair dresser was pretty awkward for Dohler =P
When initially released in countries on vhs and betamax, the film had nothing to do with Troma. It was years later that Troma attached their name to it.

@@JW666 Great movie though. Saw it when I was a kid and have loved it ever since. And for a low-budget independent film, I though it was really well made. The characters are likable, the gore is good, and the Creature looked really freaky.

Well lucas really just collected what he could find at low budget horror reject props and shoved them in there because they couldn't afford making their own

YES! I love this movie more than I should... I kid you not when I say we just did a Don Dohler weekend where we ran through his filmography. I don't quite know what it is, but I never get tired of these flicks (well, 'Fiend' is kind of dull, and 'Blood Massacre' is incoherent, but otherwise...). They are just pure no-budget joys!

Another fun fact about Jar Jar: his father is one Gerald W. Abrams.
He´s one of the biggest producers in US cable tv and was also one of the CEO´s of Viacom/CBS for many years.
Very influencial and well connected player in Hollywood and JJ practically grew up in the showbusiness.
That´s why this hack made it big.

They really are a lot of fun.
I'd definitely recommend starting with Dohler's first, "The Alien Factor". You can easily find all of his movies on youtube, so they're easily accessible.

@@AC-gb7do yes, it actually is/was. It's somewhat hard to find because the release that I have is out of print, of you're curious about that dude. If you can find it for a decent price secondhand, get it as soon as you see it for less than $10, in an ideal situation. I have a very odd collection of movies and other forms of entertainment too, like books. Brandon always wears the coolest shirts I've ever seen in his videos, that Shaw Brother one is definitely the most interesting of them all. I want that shirt and I want it now. Side note: the Inframan DVD I have is indeed an official R1 release BTW.

Random fact: in addition to reusing actors from "The Alien Factor" in this movie, Don Dohler reused the names of the characters from that movie, too. He even went a step further, having the actors play the same roles in both movies. For example, in both movies the mayor's name is Bert Wicker, and in both movies he's played by Richard Dyszel.

Cool review of this fun low budget movie with good use of the money set into it. Your "Psyche" and "Decapitation" sound effect are great, it's what make your show different from the other reviewers whom I think are Oatmeal compared to your Bacon and Eggs.

I forgot about seeing this screened in Baltimore some time back at a benefit and silent auction for the care of Don Dohler's sister. Although the event was fairly serious, parts of this movie still resulted in a fair amount of laughing from the audience. Seeing this review has me wanting to watch it again.
No Brandon. Both Psyche! and Decapitation!!!! are never too much in you videos. Please, keep adding them as much as necessary (and then some).
Ruse of Skywalker and The Farce Awakens is a homage to this movie. Aliens look stupid and brown, and half the characters don't make sense.

I wouldn't call it a remake but there's a lot of borrowing from Alien Factor here, including the same actors, playing the same characters, having the same conversations. Alien Factor is still one of the most hilarious bad movies I've ever seen. Just everything about it. The sheriff driving a coupe, the abrupt existentialist ending, my favorite group of ill-fated greasy, longhaired Don Dohler yokels....
Have you reviewed The Night Walker, with Barbara Stanwick? She has one of the best screams I have EVER heard. It is blood chilling. The movie is also one of those crazy 60ish Corman films. The good kind of crazy.
