Nice cards. The Morell Meat cards are spectacular pick ups. First I herd of them and glad you shared. Nice to learn knew things especially about vintage cards other than Topps and Bowman. The photo of Wally Moon with the Colosseum is a very cool find. Great history in a photo. Congratulations getting closer to your goals.
I don't think I discovered Morrell Meats cards until a couple of years ago. I had seen some of the same images used on postcards. I didn't realize until many years later they made baseball cards of these. Not easy to find, but when you do, they can be expensive. Thanks for watching!
The 1950 Bowman and the Morrell Meats are paradigms of the romance of baseball card collecting. They just look so fresh and confident. McCovey is definitely one of the toughest acquisitions from 1963. Good luck with Tresh too; I believe it's a short print.
Hey Rick! I actually watched this the day it came out but didn't have time at that moment to comment. I prefer to comment from computer if I can because I type much faster. Good idea to keep busy after Sadie's passing. I know it is tough to come home to an empty house. When I sit on the couch, I always wait to hear the pitter patter of my dog's paws on the hardwood floor as she comes in to join me. I know I won't always hear that, so I appreciate it while I can. I am glad you want to your opening format when you talk. It's always good to hear your thoughts. You acquired some beautiful cards. Nice to see the pair of Morrell Meats. What a beautiful shot of the Coliseum on the Moon. I was happy to get a sneak preview of the Drysdale. It looks great on camera. Those 63s are beautiful. The Spahn, Mays and McCovey are nicer looking photographs of all three of them. McCovey does have a great run of cards. Thanks for sharing.
Hi Terry, no worries on when you comment, I just appreciate that you watch my videos. Isn't it amazing the little sounds we get used to from our pets? I miss those noises, but every so often I'll hear a noise and it'll remind me of the both of them. I imagine their little ghosts still running around. I am really liking those Morrell Meats cards. They took some nice pictures for that set indeed. Getting close to the end on the 1963 set. That Tom Tresh card is being the most stubborn to find at a reasonable price. Thanks for watching!!
The Morrell meats cards are pretty cool. Reminds me of the type of card you might have been able to get at the stadium back in the day. I remember when I was 8 or 9 years old hearing about the old Los Angeles Wrigley Field. I thought people were pulling my leg since the only Wrigley Field I knew of was in Chicago. LOL
I remember reading about Wrigley Field when I was a kid cause I was reading some type of book on the Angels. I don't think I ever saw footage of the place until my early 20's when Home Run Derby came out. I never knew about the ivy on the walls in LA too until that point. Would have been a great place to check out of we were both 20 years older!
Thanks Mike. 41 Play Ball had three phases, I spent maybe a year just buying the five Dodger cards. Then I spent maybe several months getting Mantle, Foxx, Ott and Ruffing. At this point of November 2022, I had 9 of the 72 cards. From there, I went full steam and bought the remaining 63 cards in about 15-16 months. Love the 1963 cards. Thanks for watching!

Michael, both of those are beautiful sets of cards. Tresh is a SP. I just another one his afternoon. Thanks for watching, Michael.
Really nice Dodgers the best looking cards of all teams.
Thank you! Those Dodgers Morrell Meats cards are nice!
Never heard of Morrells. Enjoyed learning something new. Really like that 1950 bowman, 63 pickups. Thanks for sharing Rick.

Morrells is a South Dakota company. 😊 really nice progress in the 63 set build.
Are they still around, Eric? Yeah the 1963 set is almost winding down. Thanks for watching!
@@RickAcostaDodgerCardCollector yes, they are. But under a new name.
Sorry to hear about your cat Rick! Dig the Drysdale.
Thanks Alex. Losing a pet is never easy. Those Morrell Meats cards are all very nice.
Hello my friend 🎉
Hello my friend. I hope you have a good week!
Good to hear that time is helping. Curious, how long did it take you to finish the Playball set? Those are 63 additions to your set..cheers!!
