    HOT TAKE: Does money buy skill ?

      of course not

    • @Namprikong
      @Namprikong Před 7 měsíci +5

      yes, by purchasing a course to become a racing driver 😆

      Driving and racing skills highly depends on track time and right teachers. Money can buy you a free time you can spend on track. Money buys you track time, and a teacher's time. Proper car costs money, maintenance requires money, and petrol, and tires, etc. So yes - money buys skill - in general.

      @@oldschoollife7150 money doesn't buy skills, it does offer the option to invest in things to develop skills. same money spent could result in no skills, just equipment for example with no idea how to exploit it.

    That GR really is a crazy Hot Hatch, you almost kept up with that GT3 around a full lap of the Ring, I cannot think what Hot Hatch could do the same.

    Your tyre pressures seem quite high for 052 tyres. Have you experimented much? We didn’t get TPMS in Australia so no idea how accurate they are?

    • @GreatMotors
      @GreatMotors  Před 6 měsíci +4

      I played a fair bit with the pressures, for me 2.2-2.3 is what works best in the dry. Bellow that you get more peak grip but it will overheat the sides and you will start loosing. Don't forget the Nordschleife if 24km (even if I only drive around 21). It's not like a 2-4km track. The components need to hold top performance for longer.
      In the wet I tend to run slightly higher pressure 0.1-0.2 bar to combat aqua planning. Hope that helps.

    Great lap, the other Yaris driver is quick, but you're quicker. Go first!

    • @GreatMotors
      @GreatMotors  Před 7 měsíci

      He is a bit slower on the straights, but definitely was having less struggles with understeer coming close to the end of the lap. He is running 255 tires, which for me are the contributing factor for both

    yet you failed to mention the amount of slow traffic the gt3 encountered at bad places allowing you to catch up, please your car is very good but not a gt3

    • @GreatMotors
      @GreatMotors  Před 7 měsíci +1

      Everyone got the same slow traffic, actually I would argue that more of them than not we got it worst. Also having less power means you loose more when you have to give up momentum. Worth thinking about it :)

    • @xyz-uz6me
      @xyz-uz6me Před 7 měsíci

      @GreatMotors ...and I would argue that he got them going into turns having then had to brake very hard allowing you to catch up because by the time you catch up you can accelerate earlier with the aid of 4 wheel drive I might add
