I think the biggest misconception is the fact that Narcissist believe their own confabulations. Its hardly ever mentioned at all but only empathized on grandiosity etc. But hardly ever their delusional, paranoid and confabuled state of mind. I only realized my ex was invested into her own delusions and got upset when they made no sense to the outside world. At which she would adjust another “delusion” and believe that fantasy hard enough until it becomes real. Surround herself with enablers who support those newly invented stories so it must be real. This was her narcissism when there were just days,months and sometimes even hours of alternating realities for her. Which I could no longer go along with cause it made me insane. And then the discard happened. It must be crazy making for them aswell.
Say "you are right" but know you are right, this is projection 😀

Geschlimpf(t) sounds a lot like 'schlumpfig' which as an adjective we will use in our German family to call someone who is sloppy, slow and ineffective..referring to a translation of 'smurf' (=Schlumpf), maybe because smurfs are childlike and often presented as fixated on pursuing their joy and not work, but I really don't know why we are using it..we are not the only ones to use the term that way..chance is, the expression will likely be understood by most Germans :D

I've observed events being recalled in clear detail if they needed to be used to devalue and berate... But hey.., different techniques for different times...

I'm very interested in your answer, thank you , I'm following you for about 2 and a half/3 years , and you have changed my life in a better one ! I'm so grateful to you, I'm a doc, a good one in my work, but I didn't know a lot a lot a lot of things... You brought a very powerful light in my so "black" darkness, all these years and with this profession , without beeing aware of so much things... , unbelievable but true ! Was also wondering (and secretly hoping there might be some possibility of a reconciliation with his wife, editor and business partner - at least for the sake of the children), but am happy our smart, dedicated, generous, credible, reliable, articulate, witty, winking and increasingly cheerfully gigging and thus personable (and adorable) Prof. Vaknin is recording from his (former) home because the acoustics are better there than in the stark, empty white room in Israel which apparently cuts in at min. 8:08, but Prof. Vaknin is wearing the same shirt here, so maybe he simply changed rooms and not countries.
Wishing his family and him a healthy, happy holiday in the shared fantasy (which could become a shared reality): stable, loving, fun, safe, nourishing family able to forgive, repair and celebrate itself.

I hope my husband is dying the death of 1000 daggers, everyday all day Yes I think he was in a trance for a while, until his secret got out(with his wh0re in lake havasu, aka Amanda), he snapped out of it just in time to come back to me so I could take care of him during his last 4 months. I did get some closure, I’m grateful he’s gone or sadly my torture would continue
