Wow. As a psych student I'd thought I'd never fall for a narcissist...yet here we bloody are?

I've been affected by both types. My initial response was to isolate. However, I seem to have some live and kindness left to give. Hopefully I can keep my eyes and ears open before I become entrapped by more.

Pleas Mr. VAKNIN, what shall we do with all this information, there are thousands of Internet Information like that, what is the point all the people are knowing that the rich are getting richer and the poor are getting poorer. The first time in History people can have all this information all over the world, what is the next step? What can we do to connect the world against this capitalism game? We can do nothing i know, because the game never change only the players, i think next world wide war will come soon, maybe it begans, and we are not knowing, cause bombs are not yet arriving to my country, also in war the rich are getting richer, and after war rich are getting richer, always the never changing game. In Austria my country and allover Europe theire Goverment tell the people that the Refugees are the Problem of Financialskrisis, they tell that they must pay them so much and cause of that they dont have money for the social system and people believe that, i work in an hospital one day a doctor said to me look this refugee patient never worked and get all this therapie for free, i said ok why you are jelouse of a poor refugee and not of a first class patient are you willing to let this Refugee die because he never paid in this healthsystem. The problem is they play the poor people against themselve, and thats why they cannot connect together against this capitalusm cycle, the poor people choose Donald Trump not because they believe what he says, because there isnt a alternative , people are not stupid the system give you no other options to make a real change, they give you trump and trump is the changed player but playing the same game.

There are so many incorrect statements in this short video that it's difficult to even conceive of where to begin in correcting this misguided thinking. There's a grain of truth in it, but then the other 80 to 90% of the video are incorrect and erroneous assumptions and conclusions.

Hello, my family tried to kill me a couple years ago due to this hostility. Strangulation, traumatic brain injury and body trauma such as seizures put me in the hospital; nevertheless, I graduated with my Masters Degree in Clinical Psychology a couple months ago. Thank you for your contribution to mental health as I broke free after the childhood trauma; however, I married into it. But, now, I'm going free and happy! Best to you, Mindy

These are words to the point. Excessive pampering during upbringing separates one of the children from the reality of life, and thus eliminates their ability to empathize with the majority and understand the logic of how things work. I think that's why we see an unbalanced excess of selfishness.

Thank you for this. I ejected a woman with BPD from my life after four months of craziness. This video, more than any other, has helped me to not ruminate ("could I have done more, saved her") and to learn to listen to my gut instincts and keep boundaries in place. It feels good to be free. So again, thank you, Dr. Vaknin.

I fell in love with a man who had been sexually abused in his childhood. A narcissist I guess. I did not allow to play with my mind (hot& cold, punishing with silence, trying to make me jealous). He blocked me even though I told him about my deep feeling I had for him. Now I am thinking that maybe I made mistakes... I treated him as a "standard narcissisy" while he was a person sexually abused... I live with regret and I miss him very much. What could I do...? Could you please advice?

How do you explain all the supernatural stuff? I never heard of any of this stuff until it happened to me. I prayed and prayed for God to bring me love. Then one day i met her and 💥 BOOM. Instant chemistry. We got lost in each others eyes. I didnt think anything of it at first because she is so much younger. We barely know each other but i couldnt stop thinking about her, dreaming about her. The magnetic pull towards her was very powerful and very painful. I didnt even know her name! I had to start researching to figure out what was happening. I kept seeing 11:11 everywhere, all the time. I even asked God for signs and it started happening more. Started seeing her name everywhere too. So many things happened that were divinely guided. I had to say something. I just told her that i couldnt stop thinking about her for some strange reason. I know she felt the same way. Well she lied about it and instantly started giving me the cold shoulder. I didnt participate in her narcissistic head games. I just ignored it. Then she stopped looking me in the eyes, and eventually ghosted me for 2 years. I was totally devastated. In that time, i became the best version of myself. Quit any bad habits and totally transformed my body at the gym. Im a different person now. Recently bumped into her and she was like a deer in headlights. Now shes stonewalling me. I was expecting an apology from her but it hasnt happened. So i just walked away. Ive seen her a few times. I catch her stealing glances. She doesnt look well. Shes riddled with guilt and shame. We havent spoken a word to each other in 3 years. I dont expect anything. Im trying to move forward. Im in the best shape of my life and she looks terrible. Maybe a trauma bond, or twin flames, soul recognition, call it whatever you want, but its real. This happened for a reason. If anything, im now better equipped to handle a serious relationship. I dont expect her to return, i dont care. Shes a liar and a coward. Narcissistic and avoidant. Toxic as hell. But i still care about her i want her to be ok. She needs to heal. Thats not my problem though. My point is this: God is real. Angels are real, and this was definitely a fated connection. Whatever happens, happens. Ive completed my part of the "soul contract" or whatever you want to call it. I never believed in any of that mumbo jumbo before. I never even heard of twin flames. But it happened and its real. Call it whatever you want. Im a better person because of it. My attractiveness and self esteem and confidence are at an all time high. Im shining like a 🌟 star. Now you can tell me that you dont believe in God, and I will scoff at you. HA! 😂 ✌ (sorry so long. I feel better now.) 😆

He could not have sex with me in 2 years and then I caught him cutting holes in his underwear and cutting up tops then sewing them back up again,he would then masterbate to other women and tell them he loves them after buying me an engagement ring,I was just his mother and a slave,when I kicked him out he stalked me and left me hundreds of letters,he then got arrested twice for it,the only way I got rid of him was to expose him and he disappeared completely

On using humour, I have often said how hilariously comformative my ex was to textbook description of narcissism and that it would have been comedic if it wasn't for how much I suffered from the narcissistic abuse. Before I found out about narcissism, the behaviour I encountered was just confoundingly ridiculous. After learning about it, it was almost like reading a journal documenting our entire relationship.

Shifted doctors 6 times .first doctor told due to a picture of my thorax that my lungs were sick, never gave an explanation and another doctor backed him up without my knowledge that he was right. He wasnt right. Took 9 years of my life fearing for my life. Thanks Rasmus.

May I ask this you guys? What is your opinion or viewpoint on having someone you know ( for example) as are narcissistic couple in the military or civilians. They are in an online dating app targeting empath people as their victims.

So you could be strong, and a narc won't like you. You could be weak and the narc won't like you. Seems like the narc is simply the problem.

Gotta pay myself on the back here...ex is a covert narcissist and, as I said all along before seeing this, a primary psychopath. It's good to be on point sometimes.

It seems you have never personally explored the spiritual realms. There is much more to it than language. For example, there are healing solutions for demons, whereas psychiatry and similar therapuetic modalities have basically nothing to offer the narcissist. Your model of NPD is indeed highly verbal. The whole structure as you see it is an elaborate mental/verbal construct. But ironically reality is not as one dimensional as you seem to think it is. Consider that if you change your model, you can often get a different result. Here is a story that explains. I was a teacher of a course in working with superconsious states of mind. One of my students was a highly trained neurosurgeon who performed brain surgery nearly daily for many years. Sadly, he was involved in a serious auto accident with multiple tramatic injuries (head, spine) that would surely end his medical career. His own doctors, considered to be the best in the country, told him that he would never walk again, a diagnosis that he refused. He then sought a treatment modality that offered hope of a more positive prognosis. One of the treatments he tried was acupuncture, a modality that he would have ridiculed prior to his accident. After a series of treatments, he was able to walk again. By the time I met him, there was no lingering evidence of his accident and he was a practicing acupuncturist. He had this to say about his transformation. “I will never commit surgery again. I was healed by acupuncture, yet when I studied this practice I was confronted by my earlier narrowmindedness. I would have thought it insane to believe viewing the body in terms of fire, earth, metal, water and wood could be an accurate description of physical reality. Yet I learned is that there is power in accepting and using this model.” The point is that despite your brilliance, your exhaustive studies and your powerful creativity, you have YET to deliver anything that offers much hope for the narcissist himself should he want help. So, while the understanding you have revealed is extremely helpful to his victims, consider that treating demonic possession or influence as the actual source of NPD (and other psychiatric disorders) has a long history. I will point out that those who are demonically influenced are often atheists (though not always) and nearly always opposed to considering the divinity of Jesus. I find this to be almost exactly like the inability to consider that working with the elements might bring healing to a broken body. What infant, in a state of deep despair-traumatized, abused, or abandoned-could possibly resist the lies of a demon promising relief in exchange for his soul?

The narc I know would write "I'm sorry" but never verbalise it. Just a manipulating tactic.
