This is one of the few times where I have legitimately not seen, let alone heard of this horror movie! It looks pretty interesting.
Same here
Free on Tubi app with ads as well
It’s not interesting at all
I literally paused this video and went and watched it lol. It’s one of those it’s so bad it’s good. The acting is awful but the story unrolls in unique way. If you love zombies watch it. It’s unique and i won’t forget it……..also the drunk teen vampire at the party is the best actor in this movie by a mile😂
@@brettdabeastify Nag nag nag nag nag.
I liked Steve the Karate guy dancing. You bet!
Vinegar Syndrome (a blu ray company) just put out a 4K blu ray version of this! For anyone who still buys physical media it’s worth picking up!
Yeah, but there is a better dvd version by shout I believe. It has great extras including full commentary by the late Bill Hinzman
“For anyone who still buys physical media”
man that’s a depressing sentence. streaming companies really have everyone by the balls. people don’t own the majority of the films they watch, anymore.
I discovered this in the late 90s when my wife would buy me random Vipco VHS tapes for Christmas gifts. I got this under the Zombie Nosh title & Flesh Eating Mothers one year. Enjoyed them then & still watch them once in a while.
Not a bad movie at all and more competent than other low budget zombie movies of the time. Never boring from what I recall. Definitely underrated.
This is the “first movie you’ve never seen” that I’ve never seen! Thank you!
Found this in a box in a locked bathroom (which was bolted shut for years prior) when I ran a shitty video store. It was called "Revenge of the Living Zombies" with some photo of a zombie on the box. This film and about 100 horror and Kung Fu titles. It was my Holy Grail
Damn love ❤️ to have been that Rental store
VHS 1990 local video store rental 😎😎😎
Dude was a legend
Bought it as Zombie Nosh back in the mid 90s. Belter of a film. I’ve always remembered the ridiculous prop head used for one of the headshots
Related Trivia: Bill Hinzman actually reprises his Night of the Living Dead "Zombie" role in the DVD "30th Anniversary" of Night of the Living Dead. They added a whole opening prologue with Hinzman.
The scene from Flesheater where he goes and kills the little girl is a bonus feature on the 30th Anniversary dvd, isn't it?
Yeah that's not something to promote the 30th anniversy is just the WORST version of Ngiht of the Living Dead.
Glad to see this movie getting some exposure! I practically grew up with it because that's my dad at 3:48, Rik Billock. I met Bill Hinzman long before I ever saw the original Night of the Living Dead and he was the sweetest. I do remember it being fun and cheesy, but surprisingly solid. I'll have to watch it again, so thanks for putting it on peoples' radars :)
My videography instructor at Art Institute of Pittsburgh was principle photography and production for this. It was used as an example of How To create a movie on a limited budget.
I saw this when I was 4 or 5 on VHS and have been looking for it ever since! The opening kill scared the shit out of me as a little kid 😂
me too hahaah!!
Someone actually posted the movie on CZcams
I saw this back in 2008. I actually had it on DVD but lost it in a move sadly.
I absolutely adore this film , it's charming as all hell as their ambitions for it are readily apparent , no re inventing the wheel with this one , they just went all out and had some exploitative fun with the resources and man/womenpower they had at their disposal
I'm enamored with the specific time and place they captured , it's unique to that area of the world , Beaver Falls and the surrounding area , this isn't some generic location in Canada doubling as small town Usa , they filmed in unique locations that were probably never filmed before or after in the intervening years
They captured that small hometown atmosphere to perfection , i always thought it was endearing from the first time i watched this in the early 00s on a Media Blasters DVD as part of a 3 movie Zombie Pack offering , i had no idea what to expect , i never even heard of it at the time , i pop it in and that music starts playing and then i see the tractor pulling the kids through the woods and the terrible dubbing starts , i was totally hooked
This is one of those pure backyard films that gets a whole town involved in order to produce it and it shows , and that's a great thing as you can see the enthusiasm onscreen , and the local flavor shines through , you can't fake that
Someone mentioned The Dead Next Door and it makes sense as these films share the same Dna , a small town production that has wild ambitions and although they may not reach those lofty heights , the effort they made in their attempt are what makes the respective films so endearing , that and the backyard production atmosphere
Flesheater ( and TDND ) captured a very specific moment in time and place and it's why it endures all these years later , it's almost like comfort food for me on a mental level , i love going back to this world they created , and it's weird but no matter how many times i watch it , the feeling never subsides
And yes , it does have some great gore effects and zombie action , if you want the traditional shamblers then this one has it and i totally appreciate that , nothing fantastical here ( save for the living dead :) ) , slow and lumbering , save for the main zombie himself but even he is more of a stumbler than a fast walker or sprinter
I can't recommend this one enough for fans of low budget zombie films
I have seen FLESHEATER a few times. It us definately worth a watch for Zombie fans ☠️☠️☠️
I discovered this movie several years ago and I absolutely loved it! Another one you should cover is The Dead Next Door.
thank you i use to see this dvd around at a local shop and always wondered exactly what it was.
I ADORE Flesheater. I’ve owned it on every format from VHS through 4K
Oh oh here he comes. Watch out boys he'll chew you up. Oh oh here he comes. He's a Flesheater.
I have this on dvd, in the uk it was released as ‘zombie nosh’ if you can believe that. It’s actually decent
Got this from Vipco under the Zombie Nosh title. Underrated for sure!
Bill Hinzman was a super nice guy, met him at a couple of horror cons before he passed. RIP 😔
I remember seeing this in my cousins basement a long time ago. I need to rewatch!! Thanks for reminding me this existed!!! Cheers to another great vid!
Here after your "Night 1990" review.
So looking forwards to watching this movie.
AKA Zombie Nosh in the UK... remember some of the amazing line delivery... "Oh my god, Susan..."
I love your channel because it has inspired me to upgrade my DVD and blu ray collection and adding movies I've seen that you've covered plus adding ones I've not seen
If you don't own physical media, then you're only just renting.
@@JoBloHorrorOriginals I agree one hundred and fifty percent on that one!!
With how ppl ignore the dont open warning written ON STONE LITERALLY, they should probably make the warning say "open it" instead of saying keep it closed and maybe then ppl won't open it and actually heed the warning 😂
Never heard of this either, found it on the big E. will be owning it soon...lol I take umbrage with the "Oath" however, and will only recite a modified version. lets change that 2nd B to Butts shall we...lmao
I first saw this on a vhs titled "Revenge of the Living Zombies" in the late 90s, I liked it a lot. I now watch it every October.
I cant believe that someone else out there listens to Mail Order Zombie! That was one of my favorite podcasts! Its still on itunes.
Got to love the fact that whoever buried the casket, made sure to seal it, put a chain on it and a warning, but couldn’t be bothered to actually bury it more than a few inches deep.
Like how the padlock shackle just breaks by slightly tugging on it
Great episode
This is such a fun one. Just finally watched it recently.
I wouldn’t of ever known about this movie if it wasn’t a mistake from the seller on eBay! I bought the blind dead movie “night of the seagulls” and got flesh eater instead! Not a bad trade if I say so lol the seller even wrote to me saying how bad they felt about it and I was like “it’s perfectly alright”! They still sent me night of the seagulls anyways
I remember renting this as a kid and having a blast.
Im going to have to look this up
Aka Zombie Nosh 😂. I discovered this film soon after watching Night of the Living Dead for the first time in 1998. You can watch it free now on CZcams.
That last scene of Bill coming out of the woods, very scary.
1 of my favorite Movies.
Back in the 2000s, I ordered a Zombie movie pack on Amazon. It was in it. I had a good laugh.
I've seen this hundreds of times with my old friend we would hangout snd watch it daily lol. Just found the 4k edition from vinegar syndrome.
Awesome 😎 thanks brother 🙏
I had this film on VHS. In the UK or the version I owned it was called Zombie Nosh. Great film
Same! From Vipco.
I love the channel! But, just so you know: It says, which will take flesh and blood from *thee* ( older formal way of saying you). Not, from a tree. I'm definitely going to check this one out.
REP - RE - SENT !!
Saw the vipco version of this in the mid nineties, it was an awesome, I'd never heard of it before
I know Night of the living dead was filmed around Pittsburgh pa, and this one probably was as well a haunted hay ride is such a Pennsylvania thing the guy who made this is probably a Pennsylvania native.
I finally got to see this on Tubi TV about a year ago and found it generally entertaining for a forest zombie film.
I miss video stores.
I watch this movie every Friday nite after getting home from work. It's on in the background as I do other stuff.
I know every line by heart.
Especially the Sammy Perkins story LOL
This movie was filmed about 50 miles north of where I live now. Beaver and Volante
Romero also filmed a movie right on our road called Knightriders back in 1980....starring Ed Harris.
The barn I stood next to for school every morning was hit by one of the bikes for one of the stunts.
It was a big deal since we were were kids living in the country. Felt like Hollywood was coming to town.
Movie sucked though LOL
Gotta check this gem out.
This movie is a guilty pleasure.
Ive got this in the zombie 3 pack. It's not terrible but it's not exactly the strongest link to NOTLD
so I like you guys jo so much so that even if I happen to not like something I tell CZcams that I've already seen it, also a fan of that chick I recently commented on, cheers bros.
Had the VHS version titled "Revenge of the Living Zombies" it had a zombie that wasn't featured in the moving hiding a pickaxe or shovel. LOVE this cheesy flick!
Some other stories, that were told to me by members of the crew (so these might be exaggerated or total bull):
-- The gal playing the victim in only a towel promised if her towel was yanked off, she would kick Hinzman in the balls. Sure enough, the towel comes off and she kneed him in the balls.
-- In the ending montage when locals are shooting the zombies, one particular guy thought he could handle filming the scene where he shoots a zombie kid. It ended up getting to him, however, and his tears on screen are genuine.
-- This one I believe is mentioned on the DVD's interview with Jerry Gergely, but one of the FX guys in the crew was just about as competent as Jon Arbuckle. When told to go get a pig's heart at the local butcher for a gore scene, he brought back a sheep's heart, which is definitely not the same size as the human heart the pig's heart was meant to double.
It says “takes flesh and blood from thee.” Not tree. How can you take flesh and blood from a tree? Hehe
I had to rewind that bit tree (three) times to make sure I heard them correctly.
Same here. I’ve seen the movie a dozen times and thought for a minute I’d read it wrong all those times.
Zombie Nosh !!! With the FIRST zombie who appears in The Night Living Dead
I saw this at a horror movie convention back in 01, or 02. it was great.
Can't remember if I've seen this. I can just remember seeing Zombie Flesheaters
What are your likes? Ghouls! What are your dislikes? Peoples knees! Charlie Kelly
I just saw this film and found it a little strange, but fun. The acting is both good and bad, but the zombie make-up is great.
I had this on VHS but it was called Zombie Nosh. Well that's what it was called in the UK I guess.
I seen this aload of years ago 😎
Here's a movie I've never even heard of
Still haven’t seen this one…always dismissed it as a cheap Night of the Living Dead ripoff hoping to ride Romero’s coattails…looks like I’m not wrong! 😂. But, as a zombie fan, I feel like I owe it to myself to give it a peek.
This is way better than given excellent jump scares but horrible acting
The guy in the thumbnail pic looks like Denver Pyle!
It's "from THEE". You can't get much flesh and blood from a tree. btw, I love that their scribe is not even a complete sentence. Had they not included the unnecessary "which", it would've been fine.
I have seen Flesh Eater and I actually owned it for a while
This movie I remember someone made a video about bad zombie logic
The first 2 and a half mins of this video makes this movie look like 'night of the evil dead'.
👍
explains alot and it was his rite to do it but I doubt russo or romero sent those lawyer letters it was more of the lawyers doing it themselves. its awesome but not tomato sauce awesome and I do own a copy thanks to media blasters as part of a box set I think it came with burial ground (which I am not happy with the dvd I mean I couldnt win) and dr butcher md
Does anyone know the name of the 80s movie united states of the living dead or something like that? It was a unofficial sequel to the original Romero movies can remember the name.
Am I the only one who thought the drunk vampire was the best actor in this movie? 😂😂
At 12:46 those female zombies are caressing the car window with their delicate hands, their palms are smooth as silk. 💅 What do you think?
JERRY IS THE BEST !!! ALL HAIL JERRY G!!
NotLD...eas Romeo's 'homage' to Richard Matteson's I Am Legend..... which has never been done right.....I know Last Man.. still compromised on the 3'd act
Watercooler Films beat you to this several years ago. I watch the episode all the time.
After return of the living dead, this is my 2nd fav zombie movie…above all the romeros lol I said it
i enjoyed this one a lot :)
Flesh eater vs Lenore vampire
Lenore - Castlevania
It's "Too-Be", not "Tubby"
It's great until you watch it.
It’s on Tubi for free.
I have been wanting to see this movie ever since I saw that coming attraction scene when the little girl angle met the zombie (Mr. Hienzmann) at the front door. I'll have to look it up on CZcams. Then I'll get back to you and give my reaction to it. R.I.P. Bill Hienzmann 🧟♂️ R.I.P. George Romeo 🧟♂️
For me it's the gore that saves this one. Otherwise it's hard to watch.
Had it on vhs was terrible but sort of good 😊
Aka zombie nosh
I haven`t seen this movie in years..a fun watch
I would've been up to seeing a flesheater 2 sequel yeah some of the acting is atrocious but it's still a decent enjoyable zombie filck and better actors probably would've been picked this time if a second film had been made.its just unfortunate a follow up movie can't ever happen now due to bill henzmans death.
It's funny seeing heads bitch about this one. When you've seen so many, you want the obscure ones. I'd take Madman, In the Dark, and the Prowler over any Nightmare or Friday anyday.
I tried to watch this a while back and turned it off...
I talk about this one
I like. This channel. But the narration. Pausing every two seconds. Is distracting. Please fix.
This is not that scary but they did a good job making the Movie 🎥🍿 film but it does creep my out i lied it is scary so scary Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh i am scary 🐈
this isnt zombie flesheaters.
Somehow narrator is rather difficult to listen to making short pauses every couple of words.
