- Thanksgiving slashers have been long thought non-existent. Yet there was one little gem that took the holiday and did pretty much nothing with it. But what they did was provide a wacky story about identical twins where one has a bloodlust. So join us for all the shenanigans of 1987's Blood Rage.

SERIES SYNOPSIS: Ahhh the 80's. A simpler time where the blood ran red, the tits swung freely, and the weed was copiously smoked. A time where rampant killers were simply excuses for excessive sex and over the top murder. Yes, we're looking at an era where the slasher movie ran wild over cinemas everywhere. Today, we're looking at "Real Slashers."

A slasher classic indeed! Blood Rage and Don't Panic (also released in 1987) are the perfect blood soaked double feature. Since we're on our way towards Thanksgiving and slashers are the topic of discussion I'd love to see a video on the slasher Home Sweet Home from 1981. Either way I must thank you, Tyler, for giving some much needed attention to Blood Rage. 🔪🦃
I found this movie on Prime a couple of years ago when I wanted to watch a thanksgiving themed horror movie on Thanksgiving. didn't disappoint and I watch it every year now!
By the way, for anyone interested in watching the film, it's also known as "Nightmare at Shadow Woods" (in theaters in the USA) and "Slasher," so look for those if you can't find "Blood Rage" (the original working title was "Complex," too). See
Truly an underrated classic.
Such a blast, one of my favorite underrated slashers.
This movie is so goofy yet funny. Dead Meat’s review of this is a barrel of laughs at the weird acting choices, the over the top death scenes, the “cranberry sauce line” & the bizarre ending
I took a date to see this in the theater in April 1987 as Nightmare at Shadow Woods.
Judging by the wardrobe alone yeah it definitely feels filmed early 80's, I've skimmed by it on Tubi maybe I'll check it out.
Happy Thanksgiving peeps!
This thanksgiving, you’ll come home in a body bag.
1981 Home Sweet Home is Thanksgiving themed slasher. Body by Jake is a methed out psycho. Classic.
Enjoyed it immensely when first came to VHS...was surprised Louise Lasser, such a good actress from Mary Hartman, Mary Hartman, jammed it up here..
found this on shudder last year, I LOVE this movie!
When these videos say it hasn't been seen but theyre always got cult status... stop... we all knew about blood rage my guy. Its a thanksgiving classic
this and Sleepy Hollow 1999 are Thanksgiving horror films...to me...ha
It's like they were thinking how do we make it a Thanksgiving slasher? I dunno, let's have a scene of carving a turkey and have Terry say, it's not cranberry sauce a bunch of times.
I gotta see this now. Thanks for the festive slasher recommendation.
Never heard of this one. Been collecting, on and off, since the late 80's (granted, that far back it was mostly my mother who added the titles to the shelf), but I don't think this one even popped up at our local rental store.

Now that I think about it, a hatchet could possibly be the solution to all of my problems...
