I love the part when Curtis says: "Don't copy my hiding place, or I'll shoot you." Then he pulls out his gun. I love this scene because he accepts that the other kid knows he's a killer and makes it known that he's in charge and if he tells, he's done for. This really just shows Curtis doesn't care, and he is extremely dangerous, despite his age. Love it!

Binging this channel again and I have to say, James' script for both this and Sinister released a few weeks before may be some of the best writing ever. Between Dre and the Beegies, the entire Curtis at the junkyard scene is just too perfect.

For what it was, it wasn't too bad for a movie about killer kids. Honestly a sequel about the boys getting out as teens or young adults and reconnecting with Debbie would have been kind of interesting to see.

this movie is one of my absolute favorites, as are the three villains. their dynamic with each other is so interesting to me and you can buy that they’re real friends while also being emotionless killers. the scene of them playing tag really gives them brief characterization. and while curtis gets all the hype (totally deserved), it’s debbie who’s my favorite. she’s such a good villain because she’s the leader and is so manipulative. she orchestrates all these deaths and gets away to keep on killing. she’s able to completely fool her mom. and i like to believe that curtis and steven are proud knowing she’s carrying on their work. as this ramble shows, i love bloody birthday and i love debbie. plus. this movie’s got excellent pacing. it’s not trying to drag things out and is a perfect quick watch
Just the shot of Curtis pointing a gun at another kid over hide and seek makes this movie one of my favorites already.
