A dull little man You are not. You are a giant for Christ and I thank God for you and the way He uses you to bless us. Be blessed John.

I think it’s wonderful to sometimes identify as “a dull little man.” I often marvel that I am just an ordinary unknown-to-most woman living in a small town in New Jersey, yet God has chosen me to do a piece of his work. What an honor! Yes, dull little man, God has chosen you to do a piece of his work, and you are faithful to keep doing it, even when you’re terribly hurt, sad, troubled, etc. Best to not be too concerned with what we think of our human “position “ in life, but marvel at the honor we have had bestowed upon us. Carry on, dull little man. 💕

“Dull little man” may be a deceptive brain messages. From my perspective, to have one of the smartest, most godly people on the planet teaching/guiding me each day is one of the greatest things ever. Thank you.

Thank you for this powerful 11 minutes and 38 seconds of profound self-reflection and unveiling your vulnerabilities. So refreshing to see your struggles are real. You have arrived, you are that man that is waking me up, that is helping me see what God wants me to see. I have Wallenberg syndrome, and I, like Paul have a wicked nerve pain, for me its on my left side. I feel searing heat up and down from shoulder to my toes, and a sharp stabbing pain in my ankle at at time randomly other places. But with the Holy Spirit, I have been made whole after 10 months of full disability and now I take this pain with me every day through my fully-time job, my role as a mom of two adult daughters and now part-time caregiver for my mom. I lead a women’s small group, and it is your work, your studies, your wisdom of interpreting God’s word that keep this small asian ma longing for a true one-on-one relationship with God. I never want to hear Him tell me, I never knew you. I started following you after I read Soul Keeping. Your words are profound and eloquent and at times soar over my head, and the Holy Spirit is kind enough to give me the understanding that works for my life. Thank you for sharing life, it keeps me whole and faithing it forward for my daughters to find him too
I, too, was a prodigal daughter for 38 years
left at 18 and back in his arms at 56 yrs old searching for peace, unknowingly broken and now spiritually healed and full of hope. In my walk, in my learning, you have arrived, and no not as a “dull man” but as a mentor who helps me find the peace and hope of God.

Ahhhh, I am a “dull little woman”, I may also be a Pollyanna, in supporting others, I do think I tend to optimism over deeper and harder truths. God grant me wisdom in loving others

John, that "dull little man" has the perfect ability to speak to all of us other "dull little guys and girls" out here who feel the same way. You are REAL yet are showing us the way to follow Jesus as you do so yourself. It is wayyyyy more inviting to have someone I can relate to in these matters. So I am thankful for your willingness to be vulnerable and exactly who you are because it encourages me to do the same, and it also is a great example of what positive changes can come when we fully surrender ourselves to Jesus!â€â€â€â€đŸ™ŒđŸŒđŸ™ŒđŸŒ

I wonder if that image of the "dull little man" is a combination of God showing you what you strive for and how you see yourself?
I agree with many of the other comments but I can't imagine that when God designed and created any of us he deliberately made us dull & deminshed.
After all, one man's dusty Professor is another man's kindred spirit.
I know my own self view is a lot more personally disparaging than the view of me my loved ones hold, so actually perhaps we need to learn to love ourselves as the person we were designed and created to be, rather than chase after the image of what we think we "should be" that the enemy dangles in front of our faces.
