  • Turns out I can’t think more of myself by ‘thinking more of myself’. But it is possible-and wonderful-to live today with a sense of “astonished reverence.”

At the onset of the COVID shutdown, on 4/25/2020 at the urging of a dear friend, we shared a walkabout through an abandoned beach resort in all its splendor with not a beachgoer in site, just a security employee posted at each lagoon.
It was surreal and at that moment I realized how amazing it must’ve been during creation in all its beauty.
The ocean was crystal clear, there were sand crab mounds as high as a foot at least 3 rows deep along the barren shoreline.
I could hear God’s voice that morning, “…and God saw it was very good.” Genesis 1:31
Every step I took “I felt the sun on my face, the wind through my hair and bird’s singing in my ears, thank you Jesus, that even in the midst of a pandemic I saw that it was good.☀️🙏🏻💕🍃

Thank you! Finding God in all things, as Ignatius of Loyola used to say.

Thanks, John, fir redirecting my wonky focus to the worship of our faithful God. You had me at the birdsong around you! There is frigid ice around my house this morning 🥶 but my heart is once again melted.

I’m no psychologist, but I think I just heard some great psychology! 🙂 A few days ago I heard someone ask the question, “how do I fall in love with God?” John read the answer from page 106.
