Laura’s last sentence was so good: “God is not as concerned that we get it right, as God is that we receive God’s love.” And Jesus would smile and say, go and do likewise. ; )
Thanks John for sharing part of your family with us! Laura is just a delight!!!
Watching John’s face as he listened to his amazing daughter, I was struck by the proud father face he had, that wasn’t the face of ownership of his child but freedom to love her As her own person with the expression of her thoughts which are very articulate!
I am always so blessed when I get to hear from both John and Laura! God's love comes before inner peace.
Only when I lean into God and trust Him fully do I find peace. I searched for years trying everything in my power to find peace…it wasn’t until I dove into Gods love for me that I found inner peace. And it just gets better 😊 thank you Laura for joining your dad today. Good bless. 🙏🏻
Thanks for your insights and your wisdom this morning, Laura. They were very helpful. Like your dad and mom, you are a thoughtful and gifted communicator.
This resonated with me so much. As an empath, I tend to feel things very deeply and can become anxious at times about situations over which I have no control. This was a great reminder that I'm not a bad Christian if I'm anxious from time to time. But that I can accept God's love to walk with me through whatever it is and give me peace about any circumstance.
I loved this…such a blessing - yes, please, I would love it if you did some more together! 🤗🕊🙏xx
What a treat! Thank you and your beautiful daughter✌🏽
Thank you John and Laura. My wife has stage four cancer and needless to say the future for us is uncertain. What I find is that when I think about peace in this situation I kind of feel guilty. Though I want to avoid the pain accepting the worse scenario, it seems in a word, unthinkable. Though I feel like I understand scripture on this matter, the feelings and emotions are like a huge wave that you have no power against. Your words help.
This is so appropriate for me to hear today. Grateful for Laura's wise words. And if I close my eyes, I could almost hear Nancy speaking! Thanks for bringing her on and, Laura, thanks for coming.
Love the idea of peace through vulnerability.
This is the second time I've listened to this, so much depth in Laura's words. Thankyou
Yes I love the tenderness btwn father and daughter - it’s wonderful and very beautiful.
I too love Laura’s last piece of advice … maybe Gods not so concerned with us getting it right, but receiving His love !
So good to see Laura and to learn from her insights. Thanks for including her, John!
Delightfully deep
Laura, you're chip off the old block, great clarity and realness in communicating. and I really like the color of ur cup
Well said Laura!! Thank you 😊
❤
I would agree with previous comments that Laura is also a good communicator. Nice to have a multigenerational perspective occasionally. A good reminder no matter who or what we are, we all need the peace that comes from God. And that it is up to each of us to do what we need to do to connect with it.
Nothing can bring me peace except me!
@@raymondberger160 for me it’s just the opposite - I have the capacity boggle things & come unraveled - the sooner I call on Jesus to be my peace, to come to my rescue, He never fails to be my peace - I thank you Lord from the depth of my soul
It’s delightful to see you, Laura. Peace be with you!
Thanks. This was very helpful, as always.
Laura, you are so well spoken and full of wonderful insight. Thank you and I hope you will speak again. Yes, feeling all the feels and being at peace with it.
Wow. Such good insight. More please!
Laura, you are a beautiful soul and one in the making after Christ. You spoke with peace in your heart, eyes, posture, and words. Your dad maybe learning from you! I sure am. lol!
Hi & Thank you!
I listen with the following questions coming up: How is the peace you talk about diffent to fatalism or (just) intellectual contentment? How is that peace different to a (just) emotional reaction to having what I needed or hoped for? How in short is it better/ richer/deeper?
That’s a great question. My guess is that it is similar to the difference between joy and happiness as described by Willard and Ortberg. In that case, joy is not based on circumstances in the same way that happiness seems to be.
Such a blessing to me during such a tumultuous time in my life. Thank you. BTW I want to see John’s coffee mug again. LOL. Was that an overweight person in a yoga pose? 😂
Very good talk but my screen was black. Was it supposed to be like that?
Laura, come back and talk to us again.
