Just so you know, you have helped lift me up when it comes to public spiritual leaders who have failings and then disappear forever, as if being perfect was always the expectation. You truly seem to do this for the love and service of a loving God. Thank you John.
Self Control, not self esteem, very well said. Being a CA public school teacher during the "Self Esteem" fling was bad enough, but staying as a teacher long enough to have new teachers come in who were raised thinking self esteem was the secret to success led to dire grade inflation and lowering of standards. Truthfully, just thinking that you are a good person does not make you a good person. Misleading self esteem is like one of those mirrors that makes you look thin when you are 25 pounds overweight and is very unhealthy to your body and soul.
