These lessons from Dallas Willard have touched me to the core. I have saved so many of them. My husband, Peter and I look at each other after almost every one and simply say, “Wow.” Mabel will live in my heart forever.
Thankful that Mabel’s Friend saw to it that she would meet Tom Schmidt and that Tom would go to school with John and that John would find out about Mabel and that now I know of her too. May her story help form many visions worth living for.
Often we take for granted having all 5 senses, fully functioning, and yet, we are so easily lacking vision, using a slotted dipper at the well of good intentions and misunderstanding we lack nothing, we have the means, for it is written "Our God will supply all your needs according to his riches in Christ. Mabel's story reminds me in a big way of the widow and the two mites, the comment by Jesus how others gave of their surplus, but she gave all she had. Mabel understood the surplus that comes from the Father of Lights through the Son. Blind, she knew to Love one another, deaf, she heard Him, Isolated, she knew him more as she was not distracted by the world. She knew to taste and see the Lord is good. With her faith, she could touch Him. I can see Mabel singing In the Garden, having a vision of the Hymn, "In the Garden" by Anne Murray. "And He walks with me And He talks with me And He tells me I am His own And the joy we share as we tarry there None other has ever known. Mabel had Vision, Intention, and Means, she sought Jesus with all her heart.
Humbled by such a narrative and a reminder that I am a jar of clay. In light of the recent "testimony" from Nightbirde, I've experienced the "bookends" of a vision--an 80something from another era and a 31 year-old from this era, this week. Human flourishing regardless. Thanks, John, for this reminder.
Word for 2022, is a verse from Lamentations…”great is thy faithfulness to me”. Oddly on 1/04/2022, I had a gut-wrenching pain that lead me to surgery this past Monday. I love how He turns what may be to some a reason to have self-pity. Instead, I am lifted full of self-awareness of how vast & amazing His love truly is. I am blessed with QT with Jesus and just like Mable I know He is my greatest redeemer & reminded How great is His faithfulness to me.🙏🏻💕🍃
@@susansalvesen335 good morning ☀️, thank you for your prayer. Update, I am recovering very well and back at walking 2.4 miles fully embracing His grace & faithfulness to me. 🙏🏻💕💕
"But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which He loved Mabel, even when she was dead in her trespasses, made her alive together with Christ, and raised her up with Him and seated her with Him the the heavenly places with Christ Jesus, so that in the coming ages he might show the immeasurable riches of His grace in kindness towards Mabel in Christ Jesus." (from Eph2:4-7) May it be so with me as well!

Mabel’s purpose was to give us a sense of what is possible. For God all things are possible.

Do you mind sharing the title of the book referenced by John? It is the second time I've heard him share the story of Mabel. Very powerful indeed.
"The Life You Always Wanted" by John himself
@@BecomeNew Do you know if Tom Schmidt wrote this story in his book? If so, what is the name of the book? Thanks!
