Would you do a price breakdown at the end of the series?
THIS!
Almost all the parts with prices are available from our website, and unfortunately we can't accurately estimate labor rates. You could easily put together your own "Ron" build with your preferences. :)
Yay! Boost is coming! Man, I really wished you guys did this as a giveaway car, I want Ron!
Funny, I've essentially created Project Ron with my '01 LS with the exception of the seats and the fan setup...may as well go all the way with my rolling FM parts car 😏 Between your instruction videos and your well-engineered parts, I've become a fanboy (pun intended)
Thanks! We'll take that as a compliment! Hope you are enjoying the videos! :)

Yup, I'm a fan of any small business that stands behind its product and supports the community it sells to.@@creamwobbly
At every episode I keep telling myself how beautiful the silver Miata at the back is 🤩
Very similar car to Ron, but with a much more basic interior and lots more Aero :)
great video series ...keep em coming! thanx & god bless
Thanks, will do!
Those are def on my want list for sure!!
What's your take on worm gear hose clamp vs tension band hose clamp? I have heard that tension band hose clamps are preferred due to it's ability to expand and contract with heating and cooling. Obviously you guys are using worm gear but wanted to know if you had any thoughts.
We usually prefer the constant torque clamps for coolant lines when possible, but in some cases they aren't strictly necessary.
thank u
You're welcome!
love how ron is coming along, i was wondering if there’s any drawbacks to removing the coolant neck, i was doing research but couldn’t find conclusive answers. does it affect oil temps?
The point of the reroute (and removing the coolant neck) is to help even out the flow of coolant, and the temperatures across all 4 cylinders. There are very few downsides, but we have several other videos on our channel focusing on the reroute. This video with Mike talks about why you might want one, the benefits and details.

Is it possible to build your own cowl cover? Where do they bolt up?
Most cowl covers mount to the firewall. If you're building your own, you could mount it wherever you'd like that is available. :)
Normally the reroute was for NB because on the NBFL mazda fix the problem
Our reroute kit moves the thermostat to the back of the head, evening out the flow of coolant, and making the thermostat more functional. It also works great on Turbo cars (check out Ron episode 8!) because it helps cool the turbo more efficiently and dumps the extra hot coolant from the turbo back into the stream to the radiator instead of feeding it into the head. These are things Mazda never addressed. Check out or technical video on how reroutes work and why you might want one here:

@@FlyinMiataVideo Thanks for all I watch this video now 👌
Did you paint the cowl cover? It looks burgundy near the end of the video.
It's a super high gloss black. We left it black, so it's probably just a reflection. :)
I thought coolant reroutes weren't necessary (or even a bad idea) on the vvt engines since they have a head gasket designed to route the coolant more efficiently?
Necessary for a stock engine driven on the street? Probably not. But if you drive your car hard, or if it sees track time, or if you have a turbo charger, it's definitely a good idea. The head gasket definitely helps, but does not really change the way the coolant flows through the head Our coolant reroute fixes the flow, moves the thermostat to a more accurate position on the back of the head, and diverts the super heated coolant from the turbo directly into the radiator for cooling, instead of dumping it straight into the engine like the standard non-reroute flow. Check out our video on cooling reroutes below for more info:

I dont get the guess how much collant aluminum tank. Is there a siteglass?
Yes, Mike shows off the coolant tank and mentions the site glass in the video. Check out the product page for more pictures and info:

@@FlyinMiataVideo must have missed that. Tu
@@mistersecret88be warned though: I have another brand tank with a sight-glass (the type that screws into the side, not this external tube type (but surely that will just get broken eventually...)
Anyway, my sight-glass always has fluid in it because there's no real drainage from it. So I just take off the lid and look inside
@@dielaughing73 i would just modify and use stock
@@mistersecret88 I don't know if there's anything you can do to mitigate the problem using the stock tank. Some people never have an issue but some have replaced with OEM more than once. Sadly it seems to be a common problem with many makes and models.
Mine shit the bed the very first time I took it on track. Could have been very bad.
Just my 2c
The one thing that would
Make this series stand out from all of the other ppl that do the same ol thing would be to take it to the track and time it ovrytime an uphrade was added, other than that its the same ol
Thing…
It's way to late to do that, and the car was never meant to be a track car, so timed track testing really isn't what we wanted to show. Every car is different, and we thought people would enjoy seeing a Miata built with our parts.
@@FlyinMiataVideo maybe next time? Just saying not sure if u followed motoe trand at all when they wer on youtube but thats how they got to soo. Big and so many subs, objective and subjective testing. Anyways just
Sayin, maybe next time try an ND
Great car! But god, lose that music. It's the worst I've ever heard! 😬
