Hey Flyin Miata Did research on reddit and someone made it sound like i NEEDED apple carplay. Website just says its compatible with. Just before i buy (so i can buy together if needed) do i only need the camera or both?
Does installing an oil catch can cause issues with the factory warranty ?
Tool box tour? Hell ya!
Looks like youtube ate my comment. regarding JIS screwdrivers, the JIS standard was eliminated in 2008, and JIS screws/screwdrivers had become almost non-existent even earlier than that. Web Bike World has a good article about the rabbit hole they went down investigating this, and it's worth a read. I suspect the link is why my last comment was eaten, so I won't include it here, but it should be easy enough to find. So ultimately, you probably don't need to worry about JIS screwdrivers unless you're working on older miatas (almost certainly no NC, and potentially even later NBs). And since nobody actually makes legitimate JIS screwdrivers anymore, it's not going to be worth wasting money on a new set. If you need JIS because your car does use them, then you are relegated to looking for old screwdrivers that are actually JIS, and not just some company slapping JIS on standard phillips screwdrivers.
Since I purchased my ‘24, I’ve been looking for parts from your site, but it seems you’re having trouble keeping your inventory in stock.
Thanks for showing us that we don’t have to use tool truck brands to get the job done.
How could I get my hands on the R Package Bilsteins and springs?
Will these work with the ND OEM splash guards?
I need that car
Great video.....as always. Any differences on anything you've covered for the MSM engines?
Any cooling mods you recommend to go along with this turbo kit? Maybe a specific radiator, ford motor craft PW625 water pump, oil cooler kit? Or could there possibly be some more products in development to go along with the release of the turbo kit we should hold out for?
Nice, didnt know it was that easy tbh. Will come in handy when its time to rebuild mine. Bought an auto with no running gear. My original plan was just to do a manual conversion. I got to the point where all I needed to do was get fuel but something told me to check the fuel tank. full of rust. Im now installing another tank, new fuel pump, rebuilding the subframe, getting new suspension, gonna rebuild the brake calipers, probably put new bushings at the front too lol, put in a manual steering rack and who knows what else. Got to love old cars 😂
So bigger cams in a BP4w engine will not bring power gains? even after tuning accordingly with a standalone ECU on E85? I'm looking for mods that could bring a slight power increase that aren't directly visible to the "naked eyes", and cams seemed to fall within that category. To elaborate a little, where I live modifying your car means you'll fail inspection so I can't really fit a turbo under the hood. I am however fortunate enough to have a '99 NB without an OBD port (mazda seemed to have avoided putting them in whenever not mandatory in certain countries), which means I can run a standalone without failing inspection (as the inspector can't tell it's there). A stroker kit seems to be another way to get more power but it's *really* more expensive.
My back has begun to resemble a more or less vertical version of an old buffalo, so I'm trying to repair my posture while also trying to make the NB2 seats in my '90 more comfortable and supportive/therapeutic. If you're trying to modify musculature, routes to there are not always the most comfortable in the moment. I want to figure out a seat shape that promotes the positions that I want while not being completely uncomfortable on cross-continent drives. It takes some real understanding of the human body's structure to make an informed decision, and the last person I asked to help with that has blocked me from her Facebook feed. So, I'll be experimenting, if without a control presence, to approach that sweet spot of sit. It may involve trash bags and spray foam, or more likely, I'll just wing it. }}}}
What about the shock bellows? It seems the oem bellows have the bumpstops cast into the bellows already. But I want to run the FM bumpstops. What bellows do I use? I know i fan run without them but I live up north and would like to keep out as much debris as I can.
Where are you located.
I just learned so much. My lowering springs on stock length struts choice makes me feel like I made the right decision. 😂😂
Once you are successfully finished with one car. All the other cars only take approximately 72hr to finish another car. The real reason you got ban was because of the GREEN MOVEMENT
Did you watch the video?
Is the short throw shifter allowed with a Miata warrenty?
This video was a godsend! Thank you!
An ls3 nd sounds fun
I'm an rx8 owner, but still love this channel for its content!
I know the ones that come on my car are coilovers but I think if you call them McPherson struts most people will get it. And then call the coilovers, coilovers.
when will these be back in stock :(
Nc’s look better with a soft top for some reason 🤷 is it the rear window size?
I don't mind if you're justification is that people are not buying them enough, but to say it's because you want clean air. Oh boy
Is it best to go fully poly on a Toyota Corolla
When you say electric steering you guys tried was uh...faulty, were you talking about an electric assist, electric rack or an electric pump that moves hydraulic fluid similar to the belt driven pump?
Question, where did the clip that holds the back of two pieces together of the panel you cut in half come from? Thanks!
For 400+ hp V8 swaps, would you recommend the Ford 8.8 or the GM Getrag
We like the Getrag because it's lighter and packages better. There have been no differential failures of the Getrag in Miata applications that we know of.
I’d love one! Interesting that they didn’t need/want to upgrade to 5-lug hubs.
That's more a question of vehicle weight than power. We and our customers have run LS Miatas on four bolt hubs for over 15 years without a concern.
What’s the offset and wheel size tho
Keith's car is wearing a 15x9" +36 offset 6UL wheel, wrapped in 245/40/15 tires.
@@FlyinMiataVideo yeah I see my problem is my offset Trying to run a 205 50 on a 15x9 0 offset it fits but it just barely catches the bumper and on return full lock grabs inside the mud flap but I think I may have the car a little low still and my alignments every direction but straight
Great video. Mike is a classy presenter!
Thanks for watching!
Do forged wheels provide more steering feedback? For example, if you have 2 sets of wheels with the same weight and design, would the stiffer set of wheels provide more feedback?
Maybe technically, but most average folks probably wouldn't be able to tell a difference.
The sidewall construction of the tire is going to make a much bigger difference.
So when people say "Forged Carbon Fiber" it's really, in structure, closer to cast rather than an actual forging. And yes, it weighs more and is less strong than the proper woven stuff.
No arguments here!
Thank You! A brilliant breakdown of not just the rebuild, but for me identified several issues i didn't pick up when simply replacing the pads and disks... Re-build now due! Also well paced video, not a 10 minute rush through but also not so long as to put me off watching! Now subscribed! And really liked the only product placement noticable was for an Eci Friendly cleaning spray 🙂
Glad it was helpful! The cleaning spray wasn't a product placement, that's the stuff we actually use :)
8 turns at 1.5mm thread pitch = 12mm
Exceptionally clear explanations, really very good white-boarding. Outstanding!
We appreciate the kind words!
@@FlyinMiataVideo well-deserved. I smile that Keith is supposedly "the e-commerce guy". 4 decades in tech, real-time/OS/devices/MCUs etc. here and I was really impressed the first time I looked inside a Voodoo box 20 years ago.
What's wrong with putting vent behind the hood so hot air can escape through the back?
It's all about pressures. There's a region of higher pressure at the base of the windshield/back of the hood so it's not as effective at extracting air. In fact, we've seen "vents" back there act as intakes, pushing air under the hood instead of pulling it out.
Hi Sir I've brought a pair of H4 Led Headlight Bulbs & have installed them myself in my Toyota Hilux Surf & noticed I couldn't adjust the alignment on these H4 Led Headlight Bulbs & even the Led Chipps are exactly the same size as Halogen Bulb Filaments both High Beam & Low Beam when I screwed in both H4 Led Headlight Bulbs into the Headlight Housing & locked them in place & Iooked through the glass lens I noticed that the Led Chips weren't in line with the reflector & because these Led weren't adjustable by a screw I moved both H4 Led Headlight Bulbs back away from locked Positions & only moved back slightly & had both Led Bulbs vertical Positions & the Led Bulbs were still reasonably tight the light Beams were perfect & the Led Chips were at 3 O'clock & 9 O'clock & did I knew that I these H4 Led Headlight Bulbs Lined up perfectly in the Headlight Housing & Brilliant White Light Beams & Beautiful Headlighting & no Blinding of other Drivers on the road or Roads as everything lined up perfectly with the Halogen Bulb Filaments both High Beam & Low Beam & Brilliant white lights & these bulbs don't move at all & I've owned these Led H4 Headlight Bulbs for nearly 2 years now & still don't move & I brought these Led H4 Headlight Bulbs on Wish but the only thing is these H4 Led Headlight Bulbs have fair big Heat Sinks & no fans for cooling & very slight thicker Bulbs but I've come across a more thinner Led Headlight Bulbs with 12,000 RPM Cooling Fans & Very Samall Led Chips & these are being Shipped at the moment & these Led Headlight Bulbs are H7 Led Headlight Bulbs for the PT Cruiser & if these Bulbs are only 50 Watt but if I find that these Led Headlight Bulbs are really good from AliExpress KIEND VIP Store I will go to another AliExpress Store Drivereye Store & they are exactly the same H4 Led Headlight Bulbs only they have 70 Watt Led H4 Headlight Bulbs & also have a 12,000 RPM Cooling Fans & these H4 Led Headlight Bulbs have 3 Years Warranty & have very small Led Chips down the Led Bulbs both High Beam & Low Beam & line up perfectly with Halogen Bulb Filaments & have a lot smaller base these H4 Led Headlight Bulbs should work perfectly & a lot thinner Bulbs as it goes to the top of these bulbs & will install these H4 Led Headlight Bulbs into the Toyota Hilux Surf & having Cooling Fans will make a Big difference to & I also will get my right hand Headlight redone as the reflector is quite faded & get that professionally done & it will cost too much money for a new Headlight New Zealand $400.00 as I live in New Zealand & I don't have that sort of money to buy a New right hand Headlight Kind Regards Peter the H7 Led Headlight Bulbs that are on there way to New Zealand only cost me NZ $18.25 for the pair for the PT Cruiser & will make a big difference for the Headlighting in the PT Cruiser 6000K nice bright white lights Kind Regards Peter
Hello. What about the Miata 2024 ? Am looking for roof controller for 2024. Help!! Thanks for sharing this information. Regards
The roof controller will almost definitely work with the 2024, but we have not had the chance to test it yet.
If going with Koni sport shocks and lowering springs. Do i need shorter bump stops for my NC1. Please help. Thanks
We include upgraded bumpstops with all sets of Koni shocks. You don't necessarily need shorter ones, but your stock ones are over 15 years old by this point.
Slipped a belt on a 90 Talon Tsi. GONER!!
Oh man! That's no good. With a Miata, all you have is a tow bill.
This is one of the reasons why being tall sucks. My MK 1 & Mk 2 mr2s were perfect for me. My S2k was a pain in the ass because I had to crouch down to see past the roof line and this car doesn’t accommodate me at all.
