- What's the deal with Forged Wheels? Forged is not just another industry buzz word, it's a process that gets some of the strongest and lightest wheels on the market today. This week on FM Live, Keith Tanner gives us all the details you need to know about Forged Wheels. What's the difference? How are they better? Are they worth the money?

Do you ever intend to make 15 inch diameter version of the tobu? I love the look and performance benefits, but I can't bring myself to put 17s on an nb
We have looked into it fairly heavily, but our manufacturer can't currently supply that size.
I’m anxiously waiting for the 17x8 in bronze on your site. They’ve been unavailable for a while. Hopefully you get them soon!
Sorry for the delay on these. We hope to have another shipment in later this month.
Thanks great video
Glad you enjoyed it!
So when people say "Forged Carbon Fiber" it's really, in structure, closer to cast rather than an actual forging. And yes, it weighs more and is less strong than the proper woven stuff.
No arguments here!
mmm, forged wheels.. I would love it if I either had a valid reason to spring for them, or enough money that the cost didn't matter, lol.
Also, would love more wheel options in general for the NC. It seems like we've got two or three options if we care about weight, and maybe 10 more options if we don't. Every NC seems to run one of the same two or three wheel options out there.
Thanks for the feedback!
NC never gets love from FM 😭
Almost all of our R&D time and budget is going into NC parts right now, mostly for the turbo kit. NC is getting huge amounts of love from FM.
I wish you'd sell retouch paint for your wheels. I have two minor curb rashes in my Kogekis , which are nearly imperceptible, but i wish i could retouch them.
Sorry about that! This is difficult to achieve for our Kogeki wheels because Konig (the manufacturer), doesn't have paint codes. Please see this link for more info: konigwheels.com/wheel-info-tech/wheel-care-and-wheel-finishes/arent-paint-codes-wheels/
Do forged wheels provide more steering feedback?
For example, if you have 2 sets of wheels with the same weight and design, would the stiffer set of wheels provide more feedback?
Maybe technically, but most average folks probably wouldn't be able to tell a difference.
The sidewall construction of the tire is going to make a much bigger difference.
Travis looking at his Tobu wheels! :-)
Thanks for watching!
Are there any all chrome wheels available for NB SE’s? Mine has the 16in wheels and I’m dying to get chrome.
They're not actually chrome, but you might like our Deep Silver color on the Kogeki. They will fit over your brakes and will give you more tire options. Available in 15x7 and 15x8 in that finish.

Can we get a forged wheel sale going!!?
Our sales are rather scarce - Black Friday will be your best bet for a discounted rate, but we can't guarantee anything yet.
17" on a NA or NB? NO, NO, NO, don't do it!
A little donk never hurt anybody!
@@FlyinMiataVideoIt'll probably hurt your spine alot with paper thin tires lol
It does hurt the spine..... Factory 17" Racing Hart Mazdaspeed wheels.... I have wanted a set of these new wheels in a 15x8 since they hit the market.
Can l purchase thes Tobu wheels in Australia?
They’re only available from Flyin’ Miata, but we do ship internationally with discounted shipping rates. Check our website to get a shipping quote.
That blue ND would look soooo much better with bronze or even deep sliver wheels.
I think his other wheels are bronze. I'm a bronze fan myself!
You say these are lighter than the factory wheels - does that include the forged BBS?
Yes, our 17x8 forged wheel is 1.5 lbs lighter than the factory BBS wheel, despite being an inch wider.
where are they made❤
They're made by Titan 7 in California. USA!
What about carbon fiber?
Considering a full set can sometimes cost more than a used Miata, this is something we won't pursue. It would be cool, though.
