Only need it legal outside of CA with more HP please:) $4K for 60HP, I'm having a hard time justifying it. Now if came with ecu at that price, to boost HP to something like 210-220, now would be more attractive.
60+ horsepower in a car as small and light as a Miata makes a huge difference, and it's the most economical, and most efficient way to get those power gains out of the Miata. We are focused on providing emissions legal performance parts. If we changed the ECU, then it would void our EO and would no longer be emissions legal.
It's hands down the most complete kit out there, while being hardly anymore expensive than other kits available. If you wanted to buy injectors/ecu it's not like this kit is holding you back from bigger power numbers.
Love the Project Ron series and pleased to see it followed my build pretty closely. Have the turbo kit on notify so when it comes back in stock hopefully I'll be able to get one. Question can you estimate the HP of this kit with a 87mm Maruha crankshaft, your Carrillo rods and FM Wiseco turbo pistons also had the head flowed a bit to help the turbo and running a low restriction exhaust? I realize it's just a guess but am curious what you guys think it will add since its in my new engine. Zoom zoom. P.S. Bore x Stroke puts me just short of 1950cc
Assuming you have fuel upgrades and are running an aftermarket ECU, it's going to be very hard to estimate since there are so many variables in the tune. Our base kit with factory ECU and our Voodoo box should push approximately 180 hp at the wheels on a dyno, so you should easily be able to push beyond that with proper supporting mods and a good tune. Reach out to our support team directly if you have any more questions about that. Depending on your specifics, they may be more helpful :)

It's a big install, but not necessarily difficult. Have you seen or full turbo install video series? It goes into a step by step very detail how-to for the installation. It's a lot! We're always here to help for anyone that needs tips, instructions or guidance through the install :)

Question, If I have a randall intake currently, what happens if I go for a Turbo kit in the future, is there just now a hole in my firewall? or is there a way to make it still useful.
You will be left with a hole. We have a number of cars in our development fleet that have been through this process. Turbo intakes don’t benefit as much as the intercooler takes care of most of the intake temperature management. You could maybe use the hole to put some cooler air in the region of the turbocharger to help protect other parts from the heat, that’s not something we’ve tried.
Hmmm, there is no oil cooler fitted. Is it not needed on the car unless it sees track use? I thought it was one of those things which is "Always nice to have but seldom need to have" or have i gotten it wrong?

Ron was mostly a street car so we didn't feel it necessary for this build. We'd recommend an oil cooler on a dedicated track car in hot climates, but it really depends on how you plan to use the car. It's almost always good preventative for a car that's driven hard.
@@FlyinMiataVideo Ah, so something like i thought! I do trackdays with a stock driveline NA, but I will honestly probably get an oil cooler for next season. A bit overkill, but peace of mind. Big thanks!
Are you going to provide a parts list for the entire project Ron and a cost if someone wanted to duplicate the project?
We'll see what we can do. Links to the parts used are in the descriptions of the videos (including non-FM parts), so it would be easy to create a wishlist of almost all the Ron parts on our website. We assume everyone would want to customize the build to fit their needs, so any estimate we provide would only be accurate for this specific car.

How do you keep metal shavings from going into the oil pan when you're drilling into it with it still installed on the car like that?
We use grease on the drill to catch as much as possible, then flush the oil pan with mineral spirits to flush out the rest before finishing the install. You can see all the details in this episode of our step-by-step turbo installation:

I see the cast outlet for the turbo doesn’t have the raised wall anymore. What was the reason?
Through testing and simply running the divided setup on a lot of cars, we found that having it completely open was better for power and spool. We've also reshaped the entry into the outlet to make everything as smooth as possible.
Do you guys have issues with that LOLA drain hose? I use FC332-10 now
We've seen very few issues over the years, most issues are due to installation error.
Are we concerned about all the metal bits in the bottom of the oil pan??
Precautions were taken and the oil pan was thoroughly flushed with mineral spirits before the lines and fittings were installed. You can see more details and the full process in our Turbo Installation video series:

That turbo manifold looks a lot better than the manifold I just finished installing on my NB. Why wasn't this available 3 months ago?!
Because we just started having this design produced over the summer and we physically didn't have it three months ago. Sorry.

@@ZeroEditReviews Yep, we kept the same bolt patterns and spacing to make it an easy swap for anyone wanting to upgrade.
Would like a detailed comparison or deep dive into the new manifold and turbo elbow as compared to the old version.

I'm not sure why you're doing these videos. When I go to buy any of these parts it says they're out of stock. What's the purpose of showing how to install stuff we can't get???

To be fair the kit is capable of a lot more, it just needs injectors and eventually a standalone
