- I took a newsstand copy of Wayne Gretzky's first Sports Illustrated cover from 1981 that was graded as a CGC 6.0, cracked it, and re-submitted it to CGC. Check out the results.

I do think that Gretzky is pretty iconic and this is coming from a dude who collects Cards, lol. I like the way you got all of the bumps in grades from the re-cracks. I just chckle when I see the advertisement for Smokes, lol. The back of that Slab looks MUCH brighter, I could notice that right away. She looks really nice and I'm glad you improved that grade! Thanks for the video. I learned a bunch of stuff from watching these and I'm glad I got educated about Newsstand vs Subscriptions!

I took caution with an eraser on the back because I didn’t want to make the “new” white to seem too white to a grader.
Hey - that’s my Gretzky! 😁 Good luck with the re-press and resubmit. I thought I did decent with the press. And you never know with a new grader - could go lower or higher. Edited - good job!

I've yet to send a mag to CGC. What's the turnaround time currently?
Right now it's about 2 months door-to-door.

moderate creasing to cover
moderate spine stress lines to cover
