As a Latinx girl who didn’t have a quince, this was healing.

This was really cool. I'm sorry the Church made you feel that you had to hide your true self. Not putting down anyones faith but Pentecostal church ca. Be really damaging. I saw too many girls in high school get pregnant just to escape the church & their families.
But back to celebrating 🎉 😊. I never had a Quinceñera or even a Sweet 16, but I was a part of one for a friend of mine. She didn't have a religious ceremony, but there was a beautiful decorated chair and they did the changing of the shoes into high heels saying what it represented. Her brother stepped in to do the dance with her cuz their father was absent from their lives.I remember going to practice for weeks before hand to learn the waltz and I was the ONLY one to have formal dance training. None of the guys understood how it was supposed to be the girls were getting bored and I thought the elder was gonna have a heart attack when one of the girls said this dance is whack let's do dome hip hop. I was also maid of honor for my sieters wedding and SHE chose this beautiful pink quince dress for me. (I got hated on so bad by so many people. They thinking I was trying to get her spotlight. P-LEEZ-A not like i had the hoop skirt and multiple crinoline and tulle layers; if i really wanted to get fancy)
I'm 42 now; since you celebrated Doble Quince, has anyone ever celebrated a Triple Quince? If I make it to 45 I would consider that an accomplishment, because of my health. I need a washing away of my old self to let my new fresh self to be born. No, I'm not Trans; I am a cis woman with a really dark abused past I wish I could just forget. Watching your story and knowing the history of the Quince gives me a grounded feeling instead of the anxiety that consumes me; so I guess something/someone is trying to tell me something. Well I hope that THIS is your year. May it hold new beginnings, new adventures, abundance and growth in all facets of your life. Above all may you be loved; first by yourself and then by every soul you meet.🎉🎉🥂🫶🏻💯
