    Taz was everywhere in the 90s. I guess he was the Looney Tune to represent the "extreme" 90s.

    December 4, 1994 was my 17th birthday. I'd be getting my driver's license the next day, but not before watching The Simpsons on WNYW that evening as these commercials came from WABC!!
    The 908 area code suggests these came from central New Jersey at the time, we didn't get Prevue Channel but another directory channel called "On Cablevision" instead.

    Great to see the Prevue Channel on this commercial block, this was at the time I was watching it when I had cable. Also, this was the time when The Disney Channel had a free preview and I was taping "The Charlie Brown and Snoopy Show" and I still have the recording when I later transferred to a DVD-R in 2006.

    Woah, it's the Prevue Channel! I idled away too many hours staring at this when there was nothing else on TV, haha...

    I'm glad that they still show the Hershey's Kisses commercial in 2017 :)
    I also miss that Preview Channel (mine was a bit different here in Virginia, but I don't remember seeing it until the late 90's and then it switched to the TV Guide Channel. Now, it's ran by my cable company and it sucks haha.

    I love watching all these old nostalgic commercials! I like to listen to them in the background while I work. Would it be a lot to ask if you could make a playlist of just the "christmas-y" commercial volumes? :)

    Love watching these old commercials, really takes me back to the good old days of my youth. Felt compelled to check it out, btw: that episode of Monday Night Football that was advertised? The Raiders won 24 - 17. :)

      Lifetime itself is partly owned by ABC and this movie most likely aired there at some point.

    Oh man, what a wonderful time capsule this is! Heck, I can actually pin down some things I remember and felt direct fuzzy nostalgic things over too!
    I remember the Lion King Burger King glass, we had those in the UK too way back when! I don't know what happened to it, but I'm sure its not on us anymore but I'd remember really enjoying staring at it 'cause I was really, really into Lion King stuff then. We also had a Prevue channel (or something like that) on our cable box in the 90's as well and it was JUST as mesmirising as that was. The theme to "Lois & Clark" is burn't into my memories too because it featured on trailers for other VHS titles for Warner Bros. in front of VHS tapes branded as "Warner Bros. Family Entertainment".
    So oh boy, that was all nice to think about.

  • @TTrigg
    @TTrigg Před 6 lety +3

    Duracell--i think this was one of a series of ads featuring that family
    Full House-spoiler:episode ended with the line"My name is Kimmy Gibbler..and i am an alcoholic." *cue freeze frame*
    Sister Sister-with all these cast reunions on talk shows,surprised one hsnt happened for this show yet
    Lois & Clark-soon to be one of the shows on DC's streaming network service
    Someone Else's Child-whom she probably legally adopted by film's end
    My So-Called Life-Rayanne was always a liability
    Hook-R.I.P Robin Williams & Bob Hoskins

    I remember the launch of Directv, 998.99 for the system. The first time I heard of Ikea was when I saw Fight Club or was it Office Space...The Prevue Channel was run on a Commodore Amiga 1000 for years, even after Commodore declared Bankruptcy and went under.

  • @therealseanw.stewart2071
    @therealseanw.stewart2071 Před 6 lety +3

    TAZ LIKE MEGA MEAL!!
    Pretty solid collection here. ...So was the Prevue Channel kind of like the original DVR? Like the modern-day menus for DirecTV or Tivo? Seems very interesting to see kind of like a precursor to that. (I don't remember, I was actually born in '94!)
    I also really enjoy the Burger King grandma. Seems like a cool old lady a kid would have as their grandmother! ^-^

    • @80sCommercialVault
      @80sCommercialVault  Před 6 lety +2

      Prevue Channel was basically a programmable TV listing used by cable providers, and it was later rebranded as the TV Guide Channel. I guess you could say it was the model for how later devices listed content but it merely told you what was on TV and was not interactive in any way.
