    6:35 - "These End Credits Are Endless, Aren't They?" I remember I used to love how the end credits of Tiny Toons would slip in a joke. The one I always remember was an episode that said "The Morale of the Story? Plucky is a jerk".

    Stone Protectors appears to be an attempt to market Troll Dolls to boys using similar action figure designs with that of the Ninja Turtles

    • @80sCommercialVault
      @80sCommercialVault  Před 6 lety +5

      The bodies and proportions of the action figures are more reminiscent of He-Man/MOTU. The heads and overall aesthetic of the figures are definitely inspired by TMNT though.

    • @diezel308
      @diezel308 Před 5 lety

      They actually made TMNT Trolls (Still have them), but yes Trolls were everywhere around this period and they wanted to get boys into them too.

    The old phone commercials. As a kid, I found them to be boring. Nowadays I can see what got people excited about 25% off of something. I miss those days.

    Maybe I am wrong here, but this seems to be a day before Hocus Pocus was released yet it seems that the TV spot is using Dave Grusin's Fratelli Chase as the music for the spot. Unless it just shares a similar classic motif that I have just always associated with The Goonies. I don't remember this music in the movie.

    • @80sCommercialVault
      @80sCommercialVault  Před 5 lety

      Movie trailers often use music from other movies instead of the actual score of the film (which is often not completed/ edited until shortly before the final edit of the movie is assembled and distributed to theaters). The music used here was indeed from Dave Grusin's score for "The Goonies".

  • @fearthebeardmomma2102
    @fearthebeardmomma2102 Před 4 lety +1

    Let's not gloss over the fact that the Hocus Pocus trailer used The Goonies theme music, and Binx's voice was not the actual actor who ended up playing and voicing the cat. You can't beat those first trailers!

    • @80sCommercialVault
      @80sCommercialVault  Před 4 lety +1

      Movie trailers often use temp tracks and unfinished audio mixes...mainly due to scoring and audio mixing being one of the last things completed before a movie is released.

    I wasn’t expecting to see Kathleen Kennedy’s name in the Tiny Toons’ credits.

    • @80sCommercialVault
      @80sCommercialVault  Před 5 lety

      Kennedy was a co-founder of Amblin Entertainment along with Steven Spielberg and her husband, Frank Marshall. Amblin co-produced "Tiny Toon Adventures".

    The McDonald's Snow White Happy Meal was tied into the film being re-released in theaters that summer. I could be wrong, but I think this may be one of the last "classic" Disney films to get a theatrical re-release. I know they did a re-release of Oliver & Company a year or two later, but I don't really consider that a "classic". (Not a bad movie, just not a classic.)

    • @80sCommercialVault
      @80sCommercialVault  Před 6 lety +2

      Sleeping Beauty appears to have been re-released in 1995 (here's a trailer for it: czcams.com/video/pT-wJ-czWEA/video.html) though there's not much evidence that it actually happened or made it to many theaters.
      I saw the re-issue of Snow White that summer with my Mom and Great Grandma. It was the first time I had seen the whole movie apart from seeing clips on TV.
