- These commercials aired on USA on October 27th, 1990
1. "Which Witch Is Which?" Commercial Bumper (This was part of a series of Holiday specials en.wikipedia.o...)
2. Baby Alive
3. Cocoa Puffs
4. Elvis Collector's Plate
5. Promo for "MacGyver" (What IS he doin' with that thing?)
6. Pooch Patrol (OMG I totally forgot about these. I kind of feel bad for the older sister at the end...she looks well meaning and reacts like she's legitimately terrified by a stuffed animal)
7. Kellogg's Bigg Mixx (Failed cereal I guess. Is he a relative of Manbearpig?)
8. Westgate Mall (Amazing. This mall is still around and only about an hour away from me...I should grab an Orange Julius there sometime)
9. Pulte Homes
10. Baby Sparkles (That reaction at 4:32 is so completely over the top LOL)
11. Trix
12. "In A Minute"
13. Magic Nursery Baby
14. "In A Minute" Commercial Bumper
15. Promo for "The Scooby-Doo Show" (This was just a regular episode of "The Scooby-Doo Show" and not really a Halloween special)
16. "Which Witch Is Which?" Commercial Bumper
17. Which Witch Is Which? (I kept in this spooky Halloween song, hope nobody gets too scared)
18. "Which Witch Is Which?" End Credits
19. USA Station ID (Um, is it just me or did Nickelodeon's "Doug" completely rip this character off? Unless this is actually the origin of the character?)
20. USA Special Presentation Bumper/"The Headless Horseman of Halloween" Intro
21. "The Headless Horseman of Halloween" Commercial Bumper
22. Slinky Tower-Ifics (This ad looks like it's from the late 70's or very early 80's. I had no idea Slinky made anything besides well...slinkies)
23. Apple Cinnamon Cheerios (With free Crayola Colorworks Color Sticks)
24. Hush Little Baby (With Thora Birch)
25. Promo for "All American Wrestling"
26. "The Headless Horseman of Halloween" Commercial Bumper
27. The Real Ghostbusters Action Figures (I had the Louis action figure. I remember that the "disappearing" slime on him eventually somehow became permanent. The statue of Liberty diorama here is awesome and an obvious nod to "Ghostbusters II". I find it odd that they didn't make any toys based on the movie besides an updated Ecto 1 and a Slime Blower accessory. Vigo The Carpathian would have made a cool action figure. I guess maybe their toy license only applied to what was seen in the cartoon?)
28. Froot Loops
29. Levitz Furniture
30. USA Network Kids Club
31. Power Wheels Jeep Renegade
32. Promo for "MacGyver"
33. "The Scooby-Doo Show" End Credits (♫ Come on get involved, till the mystery is solved...hang around for Scooby-Doo ♫)
You’re not kidding about that Doug-like station identifier. I remember seeing it too. It HAS to be a Jim Jenkins produced Doug prototype.
I agree! that's literally his dog porkchop in this bit as well (and how the hell I remembered that off the top of my head I'll never know, lol)
LOL pooch patrol must've been the early version of those feisty pets we have now
nice 1990 easily my 3rd favorite year ever
The Westgate Mall commercial reminds me of just how essential malls were to my childhood and teenage years. I particularly remember my dad driving me to big city malls in Chicago during the Thanksgiving weekend to point out things I wanted for Christmas that year. While I understand the convenience of on line shopping, there was something special about that time period.
yusakug very special! Nothing will ever compare
I actually remember seeing that USA Network ID at 9:07 regulary, but hadn't thought about in in decades (literally!), until this video triggerd my memory. Thanks for posting.
i was just thinking about "In a Minute" early this morning lol
Another awesome collection ~
9:14 Jim Jenkins did a lot of commercials before Doug was a thing so I'm pretty sure he did make this. The same proto-Doug also appeared in a grapefruit commercial with Lorenzo Music.
The character of Doug actually started in a failed children's book that Jenkins wrote, but never got published. He used the character in a series of commercials, and eventually Nickelodeon bought the character as a cartoon.
Aaaaah, the memories! Thanks.
GREAT collection of ads! A lot of these I haven't seen in other compilations.
I found some of those Elvis plates on eBay for $30. When you account for interest, guess they weren't such a great investment....
Wow I forgot all about Big Mixx. I don't think it lasted long. As someone who likes mixing up cereals, I'd buy that!
I'm pretty sure that i had some of those toys giving to me on Christmas. I remember getting double present because i had to celebrated my birthday on Christmas because my Grandparents would go to Las Vegas for the winter.
I remember a number of the toy and some of the cereal commercials. Interesting seeing them again after 25 years. Brings back memories!
Nice seeing the Levitz Furniture commercial! Didn’t know the musical jingle went for a full minute instead of the usual 30 seconds. That oval and the heart always looked sharp! Getting rid of that in part might have contributed to their decline.
If possible, might be worth splicing that commercial out on its own clip as there are other Levitz commercials on CZcams.
Thanks for the compilation!
You are correct about the USA ID! It was done by Jim Jinkins before his work on the Doug series.

It was work such as this USA ID that got the attention of Nickelodeon and the opportunity for the series.
Back when kids could actually sing in the commercials 💀💀
The Pooch Patrol commercial is insane. They show that the pooch is nowhere near as scary as the mask, thus undermining their own product.
6:07 ah Paris, home of the F L Tower, wait till he sees the Archie Tree Ump!
The way that kid is saying it is actually pretty close to how a native French speaker would.
The Mixx was delicious!!
"i want to go meet Michael Jackson" lol rip
06:12 - the effy-ell tower is in Bogota, kid..
Sounds like the king from wreck it ralph was copied from the coco puffs king.
The voice there is just a standard impression of Ed Wynn (Mad Hatter from "Alice In Wonderland") which has sort of become a stock "cartoon voice" over the years.
I noticed the similarity too! Certainly not the first or last character to be based on Ed Wynn, but it's interesting that they're both kings of sweet food!
